Picatinny Federal Credit Union Reviews

My fiance had a joint account here with her father, and has spent two years since his passing trying to withdraw the funds in the account. She has been stonewalled or ignored when trying to communicate with the bank. One of the employees at this branch, Mariah, was very helpful, and actually informed us that there has been no reason the money could not be withdrawn, and closed out the account for us. Mariah was also the only one of the three employees that was wearing a mask at all when we arrived. Of the other two employees, one failed to put the mask on properly and the other did not have a mask at all. 0/5 for the bank's general communication skills. 1/5 for how this specific branch is handling COVID protections. 5/5 for Mariah being helpful and wearing a mask.

I've been using this bank for a place to have my extra income deposited to. I have constant transactions coming in and out daily. I had so many issues with the mobile banking app because they flag these transactions. The app isn't that great compared to other banking apps. Purchases in the $1,000s in my checking gets flagged. What's the point of a checking then. The reason for this review is, recently I had a call and the rep told me they are closing my account for fraud activities when in actuality, I've been the one doing all my transactions to and from the bank using zelle and paypal. No one else. To add, no one called to confirm it's me making purchases. They assumed fraud and closed the account. It's like they don't want to deal with it if it comes up as a fraud case to investigate. Worst part, the day I planned on wiring all my money in the 6 digits from one bank to this one, they closed the account and the wiring did not go through. Honestly avoid this bank. The way I operated here, I operated with other banks and they do not have an issue with what I do. This bank does have a problem. I have large investments in the stock market and crypto market. Buying Crypto using this bank is a big no. If you invest in crypto, avoid this bank. They flag crypto purchases. I needed a place to store my investments but this bank failed me. Honestly, I really don't know why I opened an account here. I've had many other issues. The tellers are great people but the bank's way of operating and their policies aren't up to the flexibility of bigger banks.

I would give zero Stars if that was an option. Because my sisters and my accounts are entwined it is difficult for us to get together and cancel everything out and move to a more professional Bank. I have been in Mount Olive and especially Rockaway multiple times where I have observed tellers and other staff appearing irritated by phone conversations place customers on hold and leaving them there. They will make snide remarks to other tellers regarding the person they left on hold . I continually experience bank statements being mailed to me despite the fact that I have had online banking for years. Somehow I always get stuck with Dean The Man Child who finds it funny. Because I only use my phone and not a computer to make changes fixing it myself is not an option. Dean as well as other staff have told me that they can't do it or that I need to change my password or give them my password. None of this true as if I'm persistent the correction is made for me. Not sure if this is a game they play or if it's done so that they can attempt to steal the $3 a month from my account to pay for the paper statement. Seriously wish that someone in authority we go in and observe these fools who are supposed to be professionals. Can't wait to get out of his bank.

I've been banking with this institution for many years now with no problems. I have used online banking, the mobile app, I've tried all their services. Issues started about two years ago I opened a CD and was told what my return would be, boy was that wrong I made pennies compared to the amount that I was originally told. At the same time I took out a small personal loan (I had to pay them to lend me my own money) to boost my credit, to this day they still have not reported my on time payments nor have they reported that I paid the loan off faster expected They have just started to use picture deposit, no warning that they hold the funds for 3 business days, would have been nice to know. Recently they began charging an online banking fee with out my knowledge. 3 months ago I had a small mistake in one of my transactions (more than likely a computer glitch on their end) and had been in complete refusal to fix the problem, and refund me the fees they charged me, I had to go through so many different managers, never getting a call back only to be told that Colleen(manager at Rockaway) was in charge of this, I had to go over her head and finally got the fees returned. Colleen should not be in customer service! I'm sick of this bank and their nonsense. I will be taking my banking elsewhere. I would never recommend them to anyone.

They never want to answer the phone's and there always busy but when they do they are very rude you ask a question they snap at you and then go to ask another question they hang up on you before you could ever ask the question. I've banked with this bank for years and never been treated like this. I'll never call the Dover branch again.
Thank you for your review. Our number one priority is providing great service to all of our members. We will look into your concern. We appreciate your business.

You have to log into mobile banking once a week or your account gets locked out. The app won’t let you deposit checks over $3000. They wouldn’t let me deposit a check into a joint account with only my signature. If you want a bank that’s easy to work with this is not the place.
Hi Joseph, Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear you're experiencing some frustrations with the new online banking. Please email us at [email protected] or give us a call so we can better understand and assist you.

My father had accounts with this bank including an equity line. When I closed his accounts they would not release his money until I paid off the equity line which is against the law. I did not know at the time. When I sold the house, I found out that they never notified the county that the equity line was paid and now the money is locked in escrow. This was a completely unethical move on their part. I will never do business there again. Update: After posting this review I received a response from the bank. They were extremely helpful and are working with me to correct the situation. I changed the rating from a 1 to a 3.
LG, we would like to investigate the situation further. Please reach out to us via email, [email protected]. Thank you

I don't understand this bank they want to give you better customer service but everytime you go in they give you an attitude! They don't know the meaning of customer service they should all be retrained in customer service! What's the point in having longer hours and staying open till 6pm why don't you close at 5pm like every other bank! Do something smart and open on Sunday's and be ahead of the game! That would mean someone would have to have a brain but this bank just dose not care about us!

I have been with Picatinny for a few years now and have had nothing but good experiences. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because I haven't done any major banking with them. I never have had anyone treat me rudely, but I do my best to be kind too.

The Bad: ATM fees are kind of ridiculous, especially when the only ATM in they have in the area is down and you're forced to use another bank's ATM. Online banking is horrendous. Nothing but problems trying to login, there is no easy way to rest/retrieve usernames or passwords. The Good: I have 2 loans with the bank and I have to say they have great rates and they are easy to work with opening loans, the loan staff is helpful.
