All of their staff have been very kind and more than helpful. I've been banking here for many years,my mother has as well. Problems have been handled quickly and efficiently. I've even been called at home,which I really appreciate instead of getting a surprise . later.I.generally I

I opened an account with this poor excuse for a bank and used it for a month. All of a sudden, without notice, they closed my bank account, mailed out a check for the balance of the account to an address I explained to them that I won't be going to and the check lost in the mail without no rectification to the situation. No answers. No one knows anything. Not only about this situation, but ANY question I ever had, no one could give me an answer to. They are HORRIBLE to do business with. Choose ANY other bank: a second chance bank or a credit union or any other banking institution, but DO NOT do business with People's United Bank. They don't give a DAMN about their customers or their reputation.They are a cold, heartless and soulless institution.The one-star rating is too high of a rating for this institution and the owners and employees of this institution. They should shut down.

People's Bank is kind to people who have money. They closed my account without notice and I STILL have yet to receive the balance from my account after having called INNUMERABLE times and even having visited. The staff there are completely lukewarm and unconcerned about my problem so much that I have to launch a complaint with the Bureau of Financial Institution after more than a month waiting to get my check from them. Even when I called, Deanna L. seem so disinterested and she attempted to brush me off just like the other reps did there and gave me a run-around-the-bush answer about the check. I had to tell her that I was informed that it would go to their legal dept if I had not received my check. She put me on hold. Ended up calling me back to say I would get the check in 10 days and it still hasn't arrived. When I called to get the contact info of the bank manager and said I was launching a complaint, the rep that I spoke to didn't bat an eye or even bother to ask why. This bank cares about nothing but money and don't care about customers who have little of it. Prove it. Go open an account there with a little money and see how you will be treated. Also, look at the reviews about this bank on Yelp and Four Square. There is so much negativism about them that it is said this isn't a real bank and customer service is negligible.

I love their Fraud Department. They have protected me from a lot of charges that were not mine. I have always been treated well. I have been with other banks and never felt welcome.
