Tyler was so helpful in helping me find a better mortgage on my wife and I's first home. The process of getting quotes was super simple and quick. The loans they found for me were MUCH better than the others I had found on my own. I had a great experience working with Own Up. As a first time homebuyer, it was very helpful to work with Own Up as they were available and informative without applying any pressure whatsoever. My representative, Tehri, was always quick to respond and capable to answer any question in the process. I had submitted for pre-approval with a major national bank of which I am a member which was taking a while. By utilizing Own Up's database of lender, we were paired with a lender that gave us a rate with CBC National Bank was a shave under what the major national bank was offering and granted us over $7000 in closing credit. Everything went smoothly and was in place for the closing date that we had set which was just under 7 weeks from our purchase agreement. I highly recommend using their services!

Own Up is unlike any other company helping people get mortgages today. I looked around to see if there were any other options to get a mortgage without an up-front hard credit inquiry, because I like to know what all the options are. There really aren't any other companies doing this -- helping people to get mortgages and refinance while also giving people as much information and transparency as possible. I wasn't comfortable with any of the other companies I looked at. Own Up felt very modern, and as a 24 year old buying my first home, this made me feel comfortable.

This Company Made Our Dream of Home Ownership Come True. Adam Oltsik is AMAZING! I cannot say enough good things about Own Up. My wife and I have dreamed of being homeowners for years. Between not having the best credit, trying to cut down our debt and saving money for a down payment, buying a home seemed impossible for us in this market. Our apartment lease was coming to an end and our rent was being raised once again. We researched all of our options and were really disappointed to find that we either had enough money for a house down payment or the closing costs, but not for both. As first time home buyers we were overwhelmed and stressed with the many steps involved. Trying to find the right mortgage lender is very difficult and time consuming. We were ready to give up when my brother in law mentioned "Own Up" and suggested we look at how it works. It honestly seemed too good to be true that we could get pre-approved with a soft credit check. We were a little hesitant but we had nothing to lose at this point. We filled out our information on the website around 1:15am on a Thursday. Adam Oltsik called us at 8:30 that same morning and pre-approved us. We went with the realtor he referred to us and by Saturday we were at our first open house! We got an offer accepted on a gorgeous house exactly a week after we were pre-approved. As a financial journalist, I know my way around mortgage products. I’m so glad I found Own Up and was able to work with Kayla Swinsick. Initially I had signed up for a “see what you qualify for” thing with another company, and for the next week or so I got so many calls, emails and texts from different mortgage companies that were trying to get me to apply with them. The excessive contact was so overwhelming that I was ready to go to my bank and hope we would get a good rate. Then I saw an ad for Own Up, and I’m so glad I signed up and set up a call with Kayla. She walked me through the whole home buying process, we discussed mine and my husband’s financials, and she informed me of what we would be able to qualify for based off the information I provided her. She also informed me of their easy online prequalification letter that I could tailor to a particular offer at any time of day, so I could get an offer in ASAP instead of having to wait for a bank or mortgage company to open for the day. After that call, Kayla would check in to see if we had any questions, and if we had any prospective houses we wanted to make an offer on. She would pull the information of the property we were interested in and give us a rate quote for that property which included the taxes and other information from the MLS listing. The rate quotes included the interest rate, APR, the estimated monthly payment for multiple lenders, and the estimated cash to close which made it extremely easy to compare lenders and figure out which company and rate would be best for us. Due to the crazy market, we’d pretty much have to have an offer ready right after seeing a house, so to try and be more prepared, I’d ask Kayla if she could give me rate quotes for a particular house with 3-5 different offer prices, and she would also include the rates for different down payments as well. I really appreciated this because it helped me see what my interest rate and payments would be like for multiple lenders, including the estimated cash to close. Once we had an offer accepted, Kayla pulled refreshed rates and walked us through how to lock our rate with the company of our choosing. Once we locked in the rate, she introduced us to the loan officers who would be taking care of our loan and we continued on with the process. Although Kayla’s role in the process was pretty much done, she continued to check in with us, our realtor, and the mortgage team to make sure everything was on track, no issues had come up, and to see if we had any questions or needed any assistance. She was always available to answer questions, guide us, and hold our hands through an overwhelming process. She even took a majorly after hours call to clarify some last minute things the day before closing and got in contact with our loan team to make sure the questions/concerns we had were answered with enough time for us to review before closing. Own Up has really made it easy to compare loan options and pick the right loan for you and your circumstances. Own Up, and Kayla in particular, made a typically very stressful process so much easier and less stressful. And we got a great rate! At our closing, the closing agent said “this is your loan rate… wait what? How did you get that rate?!” and it’s all thanks to Own Up and the transparency they provide. I would recommend Own Up to anyone looking to purchase a home, and we will definitely use Own Up again if we find ourselves looking to purchase another home.

We were first drawn to Own Up because we could be pre-approved without a hard credit check. We didn't want to risk taking a hit on our credit only to find that we wouldn't be able to buy at the level we were hoping to. Own Up gave us the freedom to enter the housing market with confidence. Then, when we found a house and had an accepted offer, Own Up got us an amazing rate. Our realtor was blown away! The options Own Up gave us allowed us to pick the mortgage package that was best for us, allowing us to reduce our closing costs by taking a slightly higher interest rate (and still at a rate that astounded our realtor!). I'll admit it - our realtor was skeptical when we first sent him the preapproval letter from Own Up and suggested maybe we should work with a local partner. We stuck with Own Up, and we are sure glad we did - and so is he.

We were working with a loan officer for months before I finally gave up on OwnUp. Our officer didn't respond to a lot of the emails I sent, she didn't explain things well, I didn't feel like she actually cared about us, and she either wasn't fully knowledgeable about loans, she lied, or there was some severe misunderstandings happening. She said we wouldn't qualify for a conventional loan so we had to do FHA, but I contacted another lending company and got approved for a 5% down conventional loan under the same circumstances. Overall the communication about different loans, what we qualify for, and just general understanding of the loan process was not good, I don't know the ultimate reason why, but it was unfortunate. We are first time homebuyers and had no clue what we were doing so a little more clarity would have been appreciated. Overall, I think the company is good, but they have a few things to work on regarding customer experience and communication. I never felt like it was a sketchy company though, I think many people will have really good experience with them and I think my experience was uncommon.

Own up was great. Charles Pierce was very helpful and knowledgeable, and I never felt pressured to go forward with a loan I didn't want (which I certainly can't say about the other lenders I spoke with). The way I see it, when your rates are low, and your process is straightforward, you don't need to pressure customers. The rates/fees were equal or lower than all other sources I found. Charles also followed up with me throughout the whole process. Everything worked out great. I highly recommend Own Up!

This is seriously the easiest and most beneficial mortgage refinance process I have ever experienced. I contacted OWN UP because they handled my last refinance a couple years ago. Since then, the rates dropped so much we wanted to look into refinancing again, cut a few years off our term, and do so without closing costs, if possible. Own Up worked with us to accomplish our EVERY goal and aligned us with the best mortgage lender for our specific scenario. Even the closing was convenient, we had the option of doing it at our home or office. From application to funding was about two weeks. Amazing.

I was monitoring refinance rates on a few different site and I saw an add for OwnUp on my facebook feed. Decided to look it up and it gave me the feel of Personal Capital, clean easy to maneuver website. Since they only do a SOFT credit hit I decided to fill out the initial information cause why not. Set up a call and was paired with Andrea. The initial call (I was still skeptical that their prices were going to be like everyone else's) BUT the rates that Andrea gave me initially were so good. Incredibly good. Too good to be true. She was able to share some google excel sheets so we could look at some numbers together to decide which refinance rate I should lock in (20yr vs 30yr). It was all so efficient, she was so knowledgable which made me feel more at ease at locking in a rate with one of their vendors. She checked up during the process and was able to answer a couple questions along the way. Own Up was able to find me rates and fees that were lower than any other lenders I shopped with. My advisor was very responsive and helpful throughout. The only thing I'd like to see changed is the ability to adjust your purchase price and down payment on your own rather than having to reach out to your advisor each time. Own Up made it really easy to get a pre-approval and get a sense of competitive rates. Their customer service was also really professional and responsive. I wish they had more information about the lenders they work with (ratings?). I'm also not sure why, but I saw different sets of banks at different times on the portal, which was confusing to me. I also would have appreciated a warning when the Own Up pre-approval generator was about to expire -- this led to a bit of scrambling when trying to generate a pre-approval for an offer!
