The agent restarted my loan process without asking. I lost the good interest rate. She avoided contact for nearly a month after saying she would fix this. I had to shake a lot of trees to get the agent to start reading email and returning calls. When she finally reached out she claimed she had fixed things - and at a better interest rate. When I got the papers to sign the interest rates and closing costs were MUCH higher, even though had I signed & completed the original paperwork for the loan they had agreed on. I was taking this loan out for a medical issue for my girl in need of pre-transplant surgery. Not only did the agent switch the loan terms, but this loan was supposed to be completed over a week ago. My rate lock has expired now, and I should never have turned down offers from more reliable & trustworthy agents. Do yourself a favor and go with someone else.

Within months of having my mortgage refinance to this bank, there was an error in Escrow. First, they paid out a semi- annual tax installment, which would've been correct. But then a few weeks later, they paid a year's worth of tax installment, causing an overpayment and now a shortage in my Escrow account. I have requested resolution via phone and through their website messaging numerous times with no resolution for almost 2 months now. I am just told I'll get follow up and that it's been "escalated". This is a terrible start with a new mortgage company and I'm feeling a bit regretful going with this company. I just want am answer as to why this happened and how to resolve before my monthly payment increases.

I think Alexa DePaolo of Northpoint Bank is an actual angel on earth. I have wanted to purchase a home my entire adult life and Alexa stayed in touch with me for 3 years until I was finally able to do it this June. Her knowledge of the whole process blows me away and her service style made us feel like family. In addition to her being an all-around beautiful human, she made the process so incredibly smooth. This is the worse bank I have ever felt with Dan M is a complete rude liar! Diane H is just incompetent she ran my wife’s date wrong and now has our credit froze so we can buy our new home now. And yes we confirmed this with equifax. Run far run fast and just use your local credit union!

I can't say enough great things about our loan officer who is readily available and an amazing advocate for our personal and business loan endeavors. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the departments behind the scenes once the loan is secured. We are about to have our 3rd round of "delinquent" taxes because the department in charge of our escrow account continues to screw things up. Each tax season (winter and summer) I have to make multiple calls before our taxes are paid correctly. Very time consuming and frustrating when the whole reason I decided to set up an escrow account was to make our lives easier! For any future loans, I will be opting out of this bank managing my escrow account as they are highly incompetent at completing this task.

This is honestly the best bank I’ve ever used. I feeling warm in my heart when I think about them. They are EXCELLENT for rentals. They let you do 15% down (as opposed to 20%), allowing for less risk as an investor. They literally closed on my loan like 12 days early. I LOVE them and will be using them again (this review sounds cooked/fake but it’s not).

Tried to cancel my PMI payments due to my property value increasing. It is impossible to communicate with the escrow department. Asked for a Manager and was told the same thing, reply to the email we sent you. Run from this Bank....

We couldn't have asked for a better experience getting a loan for our home. Matthew Arcari's team was amazing! Adam and Betsy were on top of things and kept us updated every step of the way. They kept everyone accountable for allowing us to close as quickly as possible, and were readily available for any questions. Crooks! This company withdrew several extra PMI costs from my Escrow account after receiving payoff in an effort to decrease my refund. The company has admitted fault and promised a refund will be issued. It has been 4 months and no refund in sight. I'm tired of dealing with this.

We recently worked with Ryan Gardner to buy our first home. In this competitive market, working with Ryan made all the difference! We were up against an all-cash offer and Ryan was able to talk to the listing agent to go through why our offer was just as good as the other one. He made it a point to be involved in each offer, which is not something all lenders do. His team has made the whole process seamless and we could NOT recommend him more.

I have been attempting to have my PMI removed. After providing documentation that we were below 80% LTV, the person I was emailing, Darrin Fein, simply stopped replying! I've called, emailed customer service, used the customer service chat... All without reply. Take your business to another bank!

Initially we applied at 5 banks/credit unions to find the best mortgage rate and the lowest closing costs. Ryan Gardner at Northpointe Bank was the only one that seemed to dedicate time and get the ball rolling fast enough out of all the banks/credit unions that we applied to. We chose to stick with Ryan. He kept everything moving faster than we even expected, and was always fast and efficient in everything needing to be done. Karli his assistant and he answered questions ASAP. We had self-employment income that made our application a little more difficult, but they found work-arounds and made it work. They are are a great team, and we would recommend them to anyone wanting to go through the mortgage process.

If you are overwhelmed by the homebuying experience and are looking for someone you can trust, I recommend teaming up with Daniel O'Brien. He is very straightforward and will give you the best advice for your wants and needs. He is very honest about limitations as well as the greater possibilities open to you and your particular situation. Daniel also gave us great recommendations for real estate agents that he has worked alongside with, and created a supportive team for us as this was our first time buying a home. We will definitely be contacting him again for our future homebuying/lending needs as well as team up with the agents he recommended to us this time around. Just refinanced our home due to the lower rates. I worked with Kim Gierescher she was very helpful throughout the whole process. A couple of bumps in the road but they were all manageable. I would recommend Northpointe to my family and friends

Ryan Gardner was our loan officer. I have had several mortgages and he is the best loan officer I ever worked with. The time frame from start to finish was a little over a month. We found some better interest rates at another bank and Ryan went to bat with management to match the rates. The loan closing person even came to our house. Awesome experience - I would recommend Ryan to anyone.

They could not have been incompetent if they tried! Took us several calls to make them aware that they need to factor in summer and winter taxes. Never received any call to thank us for correcting their mistake let alone an apology! Each time we called we could not speak with someone who could help and were promised a call back, but again they’re to incompetent to work a telephone! We just received a letter in the mail with our payment increase. Then when we went to sell they were so slow to respond it pushed our closing back! Like I said they could not be more incompetent if they tried! Do not recommend will never come back!

Ryan Gardner was PHENOMENAL to work with. We did a refinance through him and it was seamless, quick and easy. Ryan was clear on numbers and documents needed which helped the process immensely. My experience with Northpointe has been the worst experience I have ever had. As someone who deals with banks regularly I am amazed at how poor and ineffective they have been. After speaking to Northpointe customer service and the insurance department 15+ times over the last 5.5 months, I have still been unable to resolve the $620/month in overcharges. I have paid $2480 in unwarranted overcharges during the past four months, which is unethical and possibly illegal. It’s hard to imagine how something so simple can go unresolved for months. My recommendation is that you avoid doing business with this bank because you, the customer, will pay for their mistakes, staffing issues and impossibly poor communication. My principal/Interest is $1,141 and I'm paying taxes/insurance independently. January 2021 Northpointe added a lender placed insurance charge of $2232.03 without my knowledge, consent and any prior notification. Sept 2021, I was told that my payment would change to $1,761 from $1,141. I called Northpointe and spoke to Sarah Wainwright on 9/28/21. I was told I needed proof of insurance for 2020&2021. State Farm sent the needed documents that day. This was not resolved and I had to call again on 10/28. I spoke to a gentleman (didn't catch his name), who called State Farm personally, and received the needed documents again. I ended up paying $620 more in November, December, January and February because Northpointe is unwilling to fix the charges. 12/27/21 I called to find out why I’m still being charged $620 more per month. I was told an “escrow analysis” needed to be made. This was extremely frustrating, since it was never mentioned during my previous calls. The customer service rep cut me off mid sentence and stated that she would send an email for an escrow analysis, then promptly hung up on me. I called right back, spoke with Nichole who told me about the lender placed insurance. On 12/30 Nichole left me a voicemail stating that Northpointe insurance needed my 2020 insurance info (I sent it twice already). I spoke to Walaura on 1/12 at northpointe insurance who stated all needed insurance docs were received and the lender placed coverage was canceled on November 1st, 2021. I was stunned! How could the communication be this bad?! Also, if it was canceled Nov 1st, why was I still paying $620 per month in extra charges. On 1/14 I spoke with Christina Cavasos. Northpointe received their refund for the lender placed insurance (I never got my refund) and we need to do an escrow analysis/recalculate escrow (The third time I heard this). She would expedite it and the payment would be back to the correct amount in 7-10 business. On 2/23 I emailed Christina Cavasos for an update. My email was ignored. On 2/24 I called Northpointe because literally nothing changed. I talked to Crystal who would “escalate the recalculation”. Christina was CC’d in this email and I “should receive an answer soon” (no one contacted me). In every call I was told that it would be reanalyzed, recalculated and escalated. It seemed that the staff was trained in key talking points, to get customers off the phone quickly. On 3/1 I called to speak to a Manager. Christina Cavasos was the manager that day and I was told she would call me back, as she was busy. I was told that they had “escalated for the recalculation”. I never got a call back. On 3/2 I emailed Christina, asking how long it would take for the “escalated recalculation” to reflect on the payments (I was told 7-10 days back on 1/14. It has been >8 weeks. My email was ignored. On March 5th I called for any updates. I used the call back prompt, I never received a call back. I appreciate anyone’s patience in reading this. If you’re exhausted, imagine what it’s been like to live this for the past several months, losing $2480 to Northpointe. I will also be filing an official complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

Terrible place to work! They are very desperate for people, especially positions that involve being on the phone, that they will tell you anything to get you in. And once in, they start treating you as if they don’t trust you and watch you every minute of the day. The training is a little subpar and management does not know what they’re doing. I often get told how to do something one day and the next day I told to do it a different way. Not worth the stress or The money. Not the way for how you’re treated anyway. If you are not signed in before the time the phones open even if it is just less than a minute late you are March card. They claim flexibility and a job description but there is a flexibility to be had. Go ahead and give them a try at your own risk but make sure you save that $1,500 signing bonus. so you have a way out because you will have to pay that back if you don’t stay there within a year. They kinda trap you like that.

Tried to open a savings account with them it has been close to a week with no response to my email and an email that says "we'll be opening this account shortly" of course only after they have my routing and account numbers from another bank to make my initial deposit. This is not a good experience AT ALL. Run from this bank

Typically, we’re able to setup new accounts within 0-1 business day of the request. During this promotion, that timing sometimes extended to 3-4 business days. I see we did email you on the 4th business day after your application to confirm the account was ready to go. We’re confident our response times will be faster going forward now that this promotion has ended and hope you also find value in the market leading interest rate.

Terrible experience. Dan was extremely unprofessional took weeks to get answers to simple questions and then when he said we qualified for 30k less then we originally talked about.we had some questions and he became very short and defensive. Then after our phone call he proceeded to tell us through email that he didn’t have time to service us and that we should take our business else where. I’d recommend any other bank or credit union first.

Very disappointed with my first month at Northpointe Bank. They purchased my home loan. The first correspondence with them was that I was behind on my payments and owed two months of payments (which I was not). I immediately set up an online account and set up automatic payments with my checking account. (The website did not show I was behind. I think they did this snail mail startle correspondence purposefully to bring attention to their purchase of my account.) When the day came to process they sent an email with no identity as Northpointe saying my payment had been declined. Hoping it was spam I checked the website and it had not been processed. I tried again to set up automatic payments and pay a one time payment and it said it was declined (other companies are able to process my automatic payments from the same checking account). I tried to call. No answer. Extremely disappointed with my first month of experiences with this company. I think they are purposefully making it difficult to make payments.

I just finished one refinance process out of 4 total. The customer service received by Corbin Radabaugh was outstanding. He is a great person to work with, always promptly replying to messages, guided me through the process, and making things easier for me as a customer. Terrible customer service. No one seems to know anything. Weeks go by with no response. Get conflicting information and emails from different people. Got a response from a 3 week old email from someone unaware of where we are in the current appraisal process asking me to pay double what I just paid! Mistakes galore yet no accountability. Extremely unprofessional. Go elsewhere, we have four home loans and never experienced such terrible service. Stay away! This company is the kind of company that creates financial market crisis!

We had tried to refinance with two other companies with no success. The process from start to finish was handled very professionally. Dan and Stephanie were wonderful to work with and we will recommend them any your company to anybody who may need a mortgage.

They service my mortgage loan and they don't even know Fannie Mae guidelines for PMI removal. In spite of meeting those guidelines, they have so far refused to approve an appraisal. Wondering how many people these uninformed servicer have turned back for PMI removal and other mortgage issues. Terribly disappointed that I'm having to call Fannie Mae to remind these folks of the guidelines that they should know and work with. 1st Update: I paid for an appraisal, money was debited from my checking account, the appraisal was not approved yet they decided to keep the money. After many calls, emails and over two weeks, Northpointe Bank has refused to refund the money. 2nd Update: Appraisal payment has been refunded.

Our mortgage officers were Adam Dublet and Nichole May. They were outstanding from start to finish. We had a very difficult case, as we were first-time home buyers, but Adam and Nichole made it seem as it was the easiest case ever. They are absolutely professional, extremely patient and very prompt in their communication. We would definitely recommend them to anyone who needs a first-class mortgage officer.

We've been working on 3 refi's for 3+ months. We also purchased a home and that loan was a cluster too. They have paperwork for 3 months to show that we were VA eligible but they didn't know how to read it. Has us running crazy for weeks. Tom Jarrett is awesome, he was very responsive and did what he could to help with the chaos. His boss Craig, total jerk on the phone and basically told me to deal with it. I'll never use them again, very disappointed.
