I give this place 2 stars only because last year I myself drove 2 hours to the Cleveland Navy Federal to be told that it’s closed unless you have an appointment. For that sake it shouldn’t say “open” on google, that just discourages everyone. But…. I’m not sure if many people know this, you can actually deposit / withdraw money to and from your Navy Federal account at ANY Credit Union bank across America.

I'm a Navy Veteran and this credit union is a joke I have been banking with them for 22 and half years their customer service is TRASH they hang up on you because you're trying to get help. And I am in Cleveland ohio. I have been asking them to put a bank outside our Federal building. What a waste of time and energy. PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR. MONEY THERE. GO to another credit union. I'm tired of this company.

I have been a member with them for years, and never had any complaints. But due to Covid this is getting ridiculous, they really need to invest in getting atm machines, so that people can deposit & take out their money when they need to some kind of way. The only way to deposit or take out your money is finding some unknown atm machine, and then you have to wait 5 days for it to deposit. They also really need to have a stand alone bank outside the federal building! I ended up opening another bank account with a different bank, so that I don’t have to be sent in circles just to deposit or take out money from my account. People have lives & important things to do!

Since Covid I haven’t been able to enter the branch near me so I have to deposit my money into another credit union which takes a whole week to clear in my account. It’s ridiculous I’ve never overdraft and now I’m paying overdraft fees that I can’t afford……..

A known issue has been happening with their banking in regards to depositing checks. Since it only effects android users they have not fixed it yet and have no idea when it will be fixed. This error has occurred over over a month now. When calling in it is stated it is only android users so it will be fixed eventually.

Never had an issue with NFCU. Since covid it is harder to go to the branch. Currently, they are NOT open to the public. This information is located in the NFCU app!

I have been trying to simply make a cash deposit into my account but I’m not able to because the ONLY available branch in Ohio is located in the federal building and due to COVID, they have been closed to the public. So this means that I will need to drive out of state, to another branch, in another state

False advertising on loans (besides home loans). They will charge you over 15% for any loan. I got a personal loan, lowest possible percentage rate is around 7.9% I have an 800 credit score, and they said my loan percentage is 17%+ how does that make any sense? Thats joe bidden math.

I want to give a shout out to Megan!! She was wonderful in helping me with my recall of my funds. Megan made sure she called me throughout to make sure I was ok and that they were doing everything they can to get my funds back. I am truly thankful for her and her team.❤️Thank you Navy federal for having some genuine people on your team.

First of all I drove 2 1/2 hours for nothing! I was told I need an appointment to go to the bank. There is nothing on their site stating anything about an appt. I called and I explained to them all I wanted to do was deposit a check for large amount. I was told I couldn't do it because I don't have an appt. Sad to say I drove back 2 1/2 hours back home with my check! I wish I was told this and it was posted on the site before wasting my time and gas! Definitely not happy with Navy Federal Credit Union!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. An absolute disaster of an experience working with them for a mortgage. Do not recommend anyone use them for a mortgage.

If I could give 0 stars, I absolutely would. My fiancé and I recently tried to purchase our first home together and we chose Navy Federal as our mortgage provider because according to their mission statement, they are a not for profit, member owned bank that is committed to delivering exceptional customer service, rates, and consumer care to their members. Our experience with NFCU could not have been further from any of those things listed above. Our loan officer was almost entirely impossible to get a hold of for days (and finally weeks) at a time. We were bounced back and forth between multiple different people (because our loan officer was MIA) in the process of trying to close our loan, given conflicting information, and generally left hung out to dry. We are both self-employed individuals. This poses a challenge for securing any kind of mortgage (even without COVID being involved), as the qualifications for what is acceptable income to financial institutions varies from shop to shop. We expressed our concerns with that in the very beginning and my fiancé and I both bent over backwards to make sure we provided every possible piece of information that could be helpful to our loan officer and the other people we spoke with (we responded to many information requests within the same business day). The level of disorganization during our loan process was actually astounding. According to the Navy Federal website, they currently have over $92mil in outstanding loans on their books. They currently have a total of $148mil in assets and I quite frankly have no idea how they were able to achieve either of those numbers given my experience with the company. It became clear in the end that our loan officer didn't feel she could confidently close this loan and rather than tell us that we were in trouble (thus giving us the opportunity to find other financing without losing the house we bid on), she decided to simply run the clock out on us and kill our loan in the pipeline on the last day of the month of July. Not only did this terminate our loan, but it also caused us to lose the house we bid on. If you are considering using NFCU for your banking needs, or more specifically, your mortgage needs; don't. I know there are plenty of people out there that simply want to paint themselves as the victim to get a couple bucks or some attention, but I promise you that is not the case here. I can't imagine anything we could have done to be more responsive, accommodating, or reasonable during our mortgage process.
