This is the worse company. My husband owed a medical bill and I went to pay it from our bank account and since I was not the patient they would not except a payment from me without him talking to that there was nothing to talk about I wanted to pay the bill can’t believe they would not except a payment to me this is unprofessional I wasn’t asking for particulars I probably knew more about the particulars than they did but still would not take a payment until they could talk to him and he’s trying to work

I am just as surprised as you to report great service for a credit collector. However, I have found my few interactions with this agency to be comfortable and professional compared to many other agencies. Thanks for not being jerks.

Called me from an unverifiable number about outstanding balance for a minor medical procedure. Upon asking them for ways to verify their legitimacy (e.g. license number which can be verified through the state), they got angry, kept talking over me and told me that the only "information" I was getting was the companies name, initials (like that is information) and website (which doesn't even have the companies name on the SSL cert and proves no connection between the number calling me and the company). Asked them again for their debt collector license number or other identifier of legitimacy I could confirm with the state and they just hung up on me. Even though they told me that I couldn't go back and pay my bill to the hospital that it actually came from, I was able to call the hospital directly and make the payment there. I don't think anyone should have to deal with this level of unprofessionalism and shadiness so I recommend that you pay directly to whomever you originally owe instead of these scammers. 0 stars, if that were an option.

I don't know if NCC is a scamming company but let me tell you my experience with them. On October 20th I received a letter over the mail saying that I owe a little over $600 based on unpaid property taxes for my vehicle to Fairfax county for the 2015. On the letter they pretty much said that copy of that letter is sent to my bank and I have to pay the amount before 31st of October. So I called them on 30th and took care of the amount with debit card. They gave me a conf # so I called Fairfax County and told them that everything's taken care off. Couple of days later I checked my bank statement and saw that the bank also debited the money from my account plus an additional $100 Special processing fee. They refund the money that were paid with the debit card. So are they allowed to obtain personal information such as my bank acc # and by law I believe they were supposed to give me 30 days to pay not 11 (form 20 Oct to 31 Oct)

I am active duty military. Virginia's tax office did not place my account in "waived" for property taxes, and sent me to collections. I promptly (less than 24 hours) sent in all of my documents. Three weeks later, no progress on my account. So I reached out to the tax office personally. In less than 4 hours the county tax office was able to verify the mistake, and waived my tax...said I was good. I didn't hear anything for a month until NCC contacted me again saying I still owed money. I showed them the federal law (SSCRA) and state/county policies that show I don't owe the money...and even the emails from the county showing it was waived. They didn't buy it and kept threatening to send me to debt collectors. This continued until I got the VA state attorney's office, FTC, BBB, my base JAG office/DOJ, and local media outlets involved. Finally my account was cleared.... It shouldn't take ALL OF THAT to have a debt collector follow very simple federal, state, and county laws/policies...especially when its with a member of the armed forces. This company is a racketeering disgrace.

Keeps calling about a $40 copay that was paid the day of my visit. Johns Hopkins shows $0 due on my account, and this company keeps calling.

Harassing me and destroying my credit over cancer treatment copays that were paid at the time of treatment. Not even a letter from the hospital, saying they were paid in full has stopped the phone calls and letters. Today I was notified that my credit score dropped 32 points due to outstanding collections.

I called for simple inquiry about a mail we have received. They kept asking very personal questions one after another just saying that it is for further verification and that the account was not showing up. They are untrained scammers that collect individual information. Be aware of the information you are providing them as they do not seem to know what they are doing!!

Just spoke with two customer service representatives, Wanted to charge additional charges not listed on form letter and would not accept their access code as a point of reference (asking for my social security number) to pay outstanding account, The best part of this call..speaking with a supervisor named Jason, NCC refused to accept payment by credit card and implied that I stole it. I have placed a compliant with BBB, FTC and the VA state attorney's office and just for good measure sent a copy of all complaints filed to Senator Elizabeth Warren's.
