Mr Pawn Reviews

This shop is great, I don't normally post reviews but after my experience on Saturday I have to, I deal with alot of social anxiety and don't go out very often, the employee and one of the owners were very nice and funny, the employee even spent over half an hour to find some harder to find proprietary plugs I needed for my amp. Most shops wouldn't go through the trouble to dig through a bin of parts for something that costs less than 5$. They did so with no hesitation... awesome customer service and will definitely be bookmarking this shop as a must visit every time I'm in this area.

Out with my youngster looking for hidden treasures, stumbled across Mr Pawn. My boy love pawn shops and this was no exception. Really eclectic store with huge variety & they are willing to deal. The two Owners were working and I have to say how impressed I was by both of them! They were extremely friendly, they were very professional & knowledgable, and above all they spent a lot of time indulging my son’s interests & questions! We will be back😁

I recommend you avoid purchases with this pawn shop. I'm disappoint and feel deceived. On October 02, 2019, ten minutes before Mr. Pawn closed, I found an ad posted by Mr. Pawn on Craigslist for a Yamaha A-S1100. The price was AMAZING (half of the retail price listed on Yamaha's website). Over the phone, the owner and I worked a deal, and he asked his crew of two to stay a little late, so I could buy the Integrated amplifier that evening. I bought the amp. I was told I had thirty days to return it if I was not happy. This, of course, made me feel good about the deal, because I did not know if this amplifier would work well with my speakers, and room acoustics. I was reassured about 3 - 4 times before leaving that I could get a refund, if I returned within 30 days. Today, the writing of this review, is 15 days. I tried real hard to love the Yammie, but the vocals seem shallow and distant compared to my other equipment. I decided I did not enjoy the sound as I did with my other equipment. Today, 15 days later, I called the shop and the phone was given to the owner. The owner literally stuttered through his refusal to refund me the money, yet he said he was willing to give me a store credit, or he would take the amplifier back and, when it sold, he would give me the money. I wanted my money. I politely, and it was difficult being polite, declined his offer, and told him I would sell the amplifier on my own. I no longer trusted him, nor did I trust Mr. Pawn. See the deception? I will NEVER buy anything from this pawn shop, nor will I ever shop at another Mr. Pawn. Every negative prejudice I have heard was confirmed by this pawn shop. I highly recommend if you plan to do business with this pawn shop, do so cautiously, or not at all. Thank you for reading.
Dear Mr. Bixby, You are right. My staff and I are devastated to hear about your recent separation ith "Yammie", the nicest home stereo amplifier to come across my desk in the past 35 years. When you called two weeks after you bought it, stating that you wanted a refund because you felt Yamahas' top of the line analog home stereo amplifier for 2018 did not meet your high, hi-fidelity standards, and that my employees had convinced you that if it didn't want it, for whatever reason, for up to 30 days from your date of purchase, you could simply bring it back and receive a full refund. Apparently you must have forgotten that I was the one you called on the phone responding to our Craigslist ad. At that time you insisted that if we stay open late for you and that you would buy the amplifier sight unseen if it was in as good of condition as it appeared to be in the ad. I made the decision to have my employees stay after the store was closed to accommodate your needs. Now after using it for a couple weeks, your what, out of money? You decide that the amp not good enough for you? Then you call me with this story trying to convince me that my staff had told you that you could just use our Yamaha amp for a month and then you could simply bring it back and get a full refund if you decided you didn't like it. Did I studder? Damn right I did. Couldn't quite believe what I was hearing. What my employees really told you when you bought it was, that it was tested when it came in, and because you were there after hours, they didn't need to show you that it worked because, if after bringing it home and listening to it, you weren't 100% satisfied with it, you could bring it back for a full refund. They also informed you we guarantee everything we sell to work for a minimum of 30 days from the date you purchase anything from us. I'm pretty sure we still have one of the best warantees on craigslist.**** Tom..... NEWS FLASH....you heard what you wanted to hear.**** I was proudly born and raised in Forest Lake and have been serving the area for over 35 years. I have already sold more home stereos than you will ever own in your lifetime. There was NOTHING WRONG with Yamahas' top of the line analog power amp you bought from us. My store policies haven't changed in 35 years and I don't expect they ever will. Oh yea Tom, one last thing, when you find that company that will let you return their stereos after using them for a month, let me know. I'll take all of them! P.S. Hey Tom, do me a favor, the next time you feel compelled to lie, lie to your wife or your mother, don't lie to everyone reading my Google reviews on the internet, I'm pretty sure they can see through your bu*l sh**.

I have been doing business with Roy for almost 20 years. Roy has always been excellent to deal with and have gotten some really good deals over the years. ! I have always had good luck with the things I have bought and it sure is nice saving money to boot !
Hey Jimzee, Thanks for the Stellar review. By the way we've been doing business for over 30 years not 20. Where does the time go. Take care, We"ll see you again soon.

Hi! My name is Steve Peterson I own All Seasons Peterson Snow And Lawn Service LLC I currently snowplow for Roy. I use all my money I make from plowing to purchase things right back from him. He is a stand up guy and I would recommend him as a pawn broker to anyone I know. His prices are very fair and he stands by his merchandise. If there is ever a problem during the period of warranty he fixes the problem right away. This is the kind of guy that would give the shirt off his back to someone just to help them out. If you are looking for a place to either pawn your personal items, sell your items or buy something this is the place to look FIRST not last. Hope this helps you soon to be customers of MR PAWN!!!!!!!

I love this shop. The guys that run it are great. They are fair with their prices. Unlike the huge corporate style pawn shops I am an avid rock collector and they have a HUGE collection! They have so many more things! Anything under the sun! They for those that are complaining about the shop obviously don't understand the concept of pawn shops. Especially if you are pawning an item! Check out Forest Lake pawn, I bet you will find what you are looking for!

don't pawn or buy from this place they rip you off pay low and sell high no fair deals here! You will get better quality stuff else were and make more pawning at other places. I bought something there for 300 and they wouldn't even buy it back for 50 said its not even worth buying after they had sold it to me in the first place! If I could give minus stars I would!

Bought a snowmobile from Roy and had a great experience. The choke control was broken and he had already ordered a replacement and said he would mail it to me when it came in. He texted me a few days later and said it had arrived and he was forwarding it to me. Good service and fair price.
Thanks Dennis. I'm glad to be of service.
