    I am a newer member to MACU and like so many other struggling Americans I decided to cash in some of my equity in my home for debt consolation. After getting the run around since March of this year we finally finalized the loan this past Tuesday. We were told the loan would fund in 3 business days and we could come into an open branch on Saturday and get checks issued so we can pay off other debts. Well I was told by weekend branch manager Andrew Gardner that even though we were told our loan would fund it won’t until the following Tuesday. I have no problem with it taking a week to fun however that’s not what I was told by another Mountain America loan officer. Well Andrew the weekend branch manager advised me that if I have a problem with my loan being funded at a later time I could write congress and involve the federal government as it’s the governments fault! I’m sorry but telling two upset customers to take it up with the federal government is weak and a poor excuse for leadership! Nobody gets to blame to government for telling customers the wrong information! If we would have be told a week to begin with no problem! However we were promised loan would fund and if we don’t like it the I can vote differently I guess!! Poor leadership

    I refinanced with another bank before refinancing with this one. The other bank made me jump through hoops and it took over 2 weeks to get everything finalized. With MACU, it took a whole 2 days! Absolutely PAINLESS and they were so sweet through the entire process. I am so glad my husband had an account here and convinced me to move over! Thank you!

    Unbelievably good customer service here. I was so happy that I decided to give a different branch a try. I have a few MACU branches closer to my home. I have not always had the best/or as good of service that I received at this American Fork branch. Holly was a superstar and helped me with everything I neede plus more. Kept in touch with me and reached out to me multiple times. This sort of effort and dedication to really helping people and effective listening is rare, and often goes unnoticed! Not today! Thanks again. Look forward to more business down the road!

    I don't normally go to this branch of Mountain America since I live pretty far away, but I can say that every branch is pretty much exactly the same. They all are very good at greeting their members and when there is a line, the Loan Officers will come out to see if they can help anybody waiting for the members. they were quick and courteous. I really love Mountain America's consistency across all their branches. One thing, that was disappointing is that I learned that Mountain America no longer participates in Shared Branching, which is inconvenient as some one with multiple credit union accounts.

    Just moved to the area and took a few months of searching and asking locals about their banking experiences. I sold a vehicle and had to come to this branch for the new owner to get her loan and give me a check for payment. The staff was very courteous, knowing I had to wait and asked a few times if their was anything I needed. After more time and feedback from other MACU members, we made the decision to use them for our banking needs. The staff took time to understand our situation and made excellent recommendations on accounts that would meet our needs and we are now members!

    My wife drove 20 minutes to get to MACU in American Fork, and I drove 20 minutes from the other direction to open sizable account. We arrived 30 minutes before closing time and were told to come back some other day. We are new to Utah and looking for a good credit union. We will be going to Utah Community Credit Union instead. MACU just lost at least one long-term customer! Five other customers wanting to open an account that evening had also been told to come back another day. The procedures for handling customers who arrive during bank hours at the American Fork MACU location does not even match the standard of the US Post Office. At least at the US Post Office, all customers who arrive before closing are given service. I do not recommend Mountain America. They don't seem to want my business or the business of the others they told to come back. The customer service associates at the window were kind and apologetic. The problem doesn't lie with the front-line employees. The problem lies with Mountain America's standard operating procedures, staffing, management guidelines, and management's lack of concern for new customers.

    They are a really good local option with lots of locations in Salt Lake Area. The 3 stars is just four some recent trouble I've had with mobile depositing checks that never went through and had some glitch. Had I not gone into double check my balance, which I most often don't, the money would have never made it into my account, but showed in the mobile deposit history as being uploaded. (This according to a service representative had apparently happened to everyone that mobile deposited on that one day due to some unknown glitch). When I tried to call about it (after the online chat didn't work) I was on hold for over an hour (thank goodness I was working the whole time and not just standing around waiting) finally so frustrated, I hung up and called again and went straight to a person that said that she has been waiting several minutes for a call to come through and they haven't been that busy. Probably just growing pains, but this is a pretty big glitch that now makes me doubt and double check everything which I should probably be doing anyways, but also the reason I choose them is so that I don't have to double check and make sure everything adds up. If you lose your Debit/Credit card you can go to any location and they will print one right there for you (of course not best quality as it started to separate and severely faded after just a few months), but you don't have to wait a week or pay $30+ to get in two days like most other places do. They update and change their app often and it has a lot of nice features and financial planning help. But it can be confusing as it changes so much and you have to look for things that have moved, like learning a new app every few months. It's not a bad thing I'm glad that they're always updating it and trying to be on top and making it secure, just pointing out a minor downside to all that constant change and adding features.

    Shout out to Matthew B. who took care of us with a complicated account change on a nonprofit business account. He listened to our concerns and figured out what needed to get things taken care of … Plus he’s only been at MACU for a short time and he truly believes the MACU vision …

    I got off work early and arrived around 5:10PM. They were closed even though their posted hours state that they close at 6PM.

    Hi, Justin. Unfortunately, all of our branches were closed on Monday due to a new federal holiday, Juneteenth. With the exception of holidays, our typical hours are M-F 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Sat 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.     We are new customers to this branch since we moved to American Fork and we have used credit unions at our previous residence and we have found Mountain American Credit Union service level to be excellent and we feel welcome there.
