Walking in with no expectations I found the staff good to talk with and more than willing to answer my questions. Nick was especially helpful and went to great lengths to help me find what I wanted. I’ll definitely be returning.

Recently sold some items to the shop- very fair with prices and very helpful and courteous. Decided to deal with their gun shop based on this experience- the gentleman there was very knowledgeable and fair as well- highly recommend to anyone.

Awesome place for about anything especially guitar strings. They are very nice and very acknowledgable about what they sale. Monster Pawn is the best, that's why I travel there and I'm from a cornfield town lol

Such a cool place! You never know what you will find. The employees are so friendly... Add that to the two store doggies, and you’ve got a winning team! I will be back - bringing some stuff I have in my basement to get some early Christmas money.

In my opinion Nick is not helpful one bit. He has been shirt and rude to me. I am upping the stars based on the owner’s response. I believe the owner cares but clearly some of his employees care about other things. Here is my original review outlining my experience with Nick (the older man described below). I brought in a gently used product with a retail value of between $170-150 new. They did a very quick search of the item on eBay. They had the product manual in hand and told me that the best price on eBay was $38. Then said people were selling it for $11. They offered me $10. They said they had received a “much cooler remote with way more functions just a bit ago for $10”. The man that said that didn’t even look at the remote. I searched it on my own and found my exact model type selling for between 175-138 for new and “used” on eBay not even a minute after leaving the store. I decided to not even both going back in to show them. They have done me wrong in the past and this was their second chance. I would not recommend you go to this store. In my opinion they are crooked dealers looking for someone in extreme need so they can undercut them on price. I say this because I also sold a typewriter to them last year. It was in great working condition, it had a solid metal typing desk and I even offered spare ink. The old man helping me said it was in great condition but he would lose out big time if he bought it for anything more than $50. I explained that I had lost my job and needed the money for food, I told him I didn’t really want to even have to sell it but I needed money to feed myself. He kept pushing and pushing and wasting my time. Asking me condescending questions like, who died that I got this from. He also said several time you don’t even know how this thing works do you? He assumed that I just had found this item thinking it had no value. In my opinion he acted as if because of my age I had zero idea how to clean/operate the typewriter. He was very rude in his tone.I told him that I’d throw in the desk and ink for $150 as it is worth approximately 350 on eBay he would be making a $200 profit. They were the only one in town to make an offer and so I decided that I would have to take whatever I could get. He said the best he could possibly do is $70 because “I’m going to eat a lot of profit in shipping it alone”. I reluctantly agreed and he pulled out a massive stack of bills then asked me if I had change for a $20... I said no man that’s why I’m here. He said oh ok well fine I guess I can do $80. I explained that I loved my typewriter but it was the most valuable thing I owned that I could survive without and that it meant a lot to me. I said you know you’re getting a helluva deal and that if I had any other choice I wouldn’t be selling it so cheaply. He said oh well I guess I can tell you now I’m not planning on selling this I’m going to give it to a suicidal friend and I didn’t want to have to pay full price. He kept following me outside. He told me about how he was taking care of this girl and he was going to get major brownie points for this. I wanted to tell him what he could do with those brownie points, but took the high road and assumed it was just bad day with them. I did not make the $10 deal today because I am in a much better position than I was in. I wanted to test their morality. They failed hard. Offering 10 for a product they knew was worth $150. Boo in my opinion shady businesses like this should have much more regulation to prevent scummy people from preying on people in need.

I previously had my account hacked and it stated that had a negative opinion of Monster and the employees there. This couldn't be further from the truth. The boys at Monster are incredible, Matt the manager is an AMAZING professional and the staff he employs are right behind him. I can't apologize enough for not knowing about the other review and I won't stop until it is taken down. Go NO WHERE ELSE BUT MONSTER PAWN! You won't be disappointed. Sorry about whatever was said in the other review guys. I'll make it right!!!!!!!!

I’ve always had a good experience going here. They’ve helped me out with a small loan several times, always give me honest & fair price. I don’t use any other pawn shop in Springfield.

Purchased a guitar there and found a serious defect well after the allowed time to return. Despite the fact they were not obligated to refund me anything, they offered me full credit to use in store. I would recommend anyone looking for a trustworthy pawn shop to check out their store. They went above and beyond my expectations!

Monster pawn saved my life! I was in a tough situation. Kid on the way. Wife was out of work. Needed some cash and quick. Pawned what I thought was about $300 worth. They gave me $600!!!!! Had enough for the new baby crib plus more. Special Thank you Hunter Atwood!!!

My husband and I live 100 miles away and we were in town for another reason and had some time to kill so we stopped in Monster Pawn and we're so glad we did. As soon as we walked in the door we headed straight for the jewelry case. The general manager greeted us and asked if we wanted to see something and of course we did so he came over and pulled out several pieces for us to see. He let me see more than one at a time so I could compare. My husband and I decided on a beautiful cuban link chain and a new ring. We had some pieces with us that we were wanting to trade so he inspected them and and we negotiated. He was very fair and we were so pleased that we will be returning in the future. We are customers for life.

Not polite in my opinion. I feel like they look down at people in need and aren't really there to help you. Not all there staff is this way but most. You can tell right away as soon as you walk in.Not a welcoming environment. I honestly would not recommend unless your in desperate need.

Best place around I have found to sell any unwanted jewelry

This place was great until I brought my family with me this last time. We were looking at Tv’s and there appeared to be a group in there with nothing but brand new electronics and even clothing. The employees didn’t even seem to be doing transactions but just paying out cash for the garbage bags of items. The manager at the time even seemed to know the “customers” by name, which makes me wonder if this is a common occurrence. The promotion of theft is a big no on my end. 110% will not return.

Matt and his team are pros. We purchased several expensive pieces from Monster Pawn Springfield and the entire experience was fantastic. Working across the country via phone and email, all of our questions were answered and we were 100% satisfied with the communication, the packaging and speed of delivery, and the deal. Nick the guitar tech spent a ton of time on the phone with us and this guy knows his stuff. Great guy to talk gear with! Matt the owner worked out a really solid deal on several great pieces for us. Selling plastic wrapped Nintendo switches and it looked like the regular, not the switch lites, didn’t even come with the dock even though they were 300 dollars, that’s the market price for a full Nintendo switch WITH DOCK at Walmart. If you sell used equipment, you shouldn’t sell it at market price when it doesn’t even come with everything.

The best pawn shop in Springfield, hands down. I’ve pawned a few things here when I needed money & the guys were polite & very professional during every interaction I had with them. I recommend them to everyone!! They also have a great selection of electronics if your looking for a new laptop. I got a MacBook Pro here for $200 back in February & it works great 👍 2 thumbs up for you guys 👍 👍

Matt and his crew have been fair and honest about every deal I've seen there, for years and years. The guitar guy knows his stuff, through and through. So does the gamer guy, the studio guy, the coin and jewelry guy, and the computer guy. They all know their stuff, and are more than fair. Monster is the place to go.

Prices are about average. They use ebay as the price baseline though so in most cases how they marked something is transparent. Honestly what makes monster pawn nice is the professionalism. The store is bright, clean and easy to navigate with little issue to be had.

This pawn shop is like no other: Prices are spot on, people are friendly and a vast array of products. The store is always clean and very organized. I especially like the DVD section and the well lit jewelry case.
