Monster Music & Movies is an awesome place to find physical copies of music and other items that may be hard to get otherwise. I like being able to a music store and look through the racks for an album that I may have owned in the past or just discovered. Everyone that works here is really cool and knowledgeable and can help you find something that can be difficult to find. This is one of my favorite stores in Charleston to find a gift for someone that is hard to buy for.

By far one of my favorite places to go period. I love the staff, atmosphere, music selection, everything. The employees are knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. I've been shopping here for quite some time and won't stop any time soon.

I always beg my mom to take me to Monster Music! I love the vinyls there and the people are so nice! They have great selections and there are so many vinyls, movies, or cd’s to choose from! And this is the best place to go to if you just got a record player!

A great store, well-organized and it's fantastic seeing so many genre movies on the racks. Sticker price on newer titles is close to MSRP, so check them out on Tuesday when movies are 20% off. Fun times digging in the well-priced used sections anytime.

Do you know hot to tell when a record store is next level? When the classic music section is in perfect alphabetical order. There's a giant selection on literally every possible genre. From blue grass to punk rock new releases. Everything. I noticed a huge section on 12" singles, rare gems. There's algo a huge section on DVD's, CD's and even VHS's!!! Grrat shop. And staff was extremely nice and friendly as well. Too bad I'm from Miami, but if I'm ever back in Charleston, this is a must to stop by.

Probably my favorite record shop I've ever visited. It's clean, organized, and the staff are friendly and laid back. They do their best to help customers find what they're looking for, and if they don't have it in the store, they will order it for you. I'm glad to have found such a great local place to buy records since moving to Charleston.

I can't imagine that you actually "take these reviews seriously" or else the guy I dealt with today would have been a whole lot nicer to me. I came in to exchange a gift of something I already own. Basically the punk kid told me I was S.O.L. When I said 'so should I just keep this and sell it myself online' he laughed and said 'yeah you can do that.' Is this really how y'all do business? I literally wanted to exchange something and let's be honest, while shopping around I probably would have bought other things as well, but that kid really ruined my experience.

This music store has just about any kind of music you want, from kpop to classical. All kinds of records, tapes, cd's, movies, even saw some VHS tapes! Reasonably priced. Super friendly staff. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic selection of music, the only store I have found Sabaton CDs at out of a few dozen I have checked between Knoxville Tennessee and Charleston.

I will definitely plan a day trip to come back and visit this place!

Monster music is a nice store. You can find a lot of old movie and Music treasures! If you are looking for one old movie 80% of the time you are able to find that and you end up buying more! But I don’t recommend selling your dvds there. You will get basically nothing for still good priced dvds. You are better of selling it on Facebook or eBay and probably get 3 times more of what they offer you. And you definitely don’t go there to get a professionell attitude.

Got a limited edition vinyl at a GREAT price ($25) and they shipped for $4! Even with their cheapest shipping option it got from SC to GA in 5 days and was in perfect condition. And they sent a sticker! So happy with my purchase!

I only looked at vinyls recordz, so I have no idea about CDs, DVDs, etc other than this store has a LOT of them I didn't look at. Found a couple of cool records in the 50% off bin as well as a cool Light In The Attic comp. Lots of great new vinyl, used selection was pretty good, definitely worth your time. Staff was really nice, prices seemed pretty fair on the new and used stuff. They had 45's I didn't have time to look through. Great spot to dig for cheapos for sure.

Hard to beat this place. New records every week, VERY well organized and a constant flow of used bins that keep it interesting. Phenomenal staff, great tunes always playing. Huge fan.

Monster is awesome!! Always a huge inventory of stuff to go through. I'm always there for at least an hour or two going through the isles. The staff is just as awesome and always super helpful. Definitely a hidden gem in West Ashley!

I've been going here since it was Harbor Records and tapes on Sam Rittenburg. They have the best vinyl selection around plenty of novelties and plenty of t-shirts. Best place to go for music in Charleston

Monster is simply the best music & movie store around. They consistently exceed expectations in all regards, but specifically with their records, & their staff is 11/10 as well. Highly recommend
