Mattamy Homes - Dove Mountain N Chaparral Sage Rd, Marana

I like the design of my home. Mattamy has let us down repeatedly with regard to issues of warranty, timeliness and overall desire to satisfy the customer. I purchased a 400k home and feel like I got a 50k experience. From the start I felt Mattamy was weak in the sales dept as well as with follow up to our requests. I feel EXTREMELY misled regarding our 1 yr warranty situation. In actuality, the warranty is more like 11 months and that is buried online. Something that would have been helpful to know in the beginning. A very underhanded way to approach warranties. I would never recommend this builder, and as a matter of fact, constantly tell people of Mattamy’s failings, and will continue to do so as long as I live. This house and community are very nice, but Mattamy has miles to go to be considered customer service friendly. Big company selling houses for big money, on the cheap. Please use my comments publicly, as I think every home buyer SHOULD know what Mattamy is all about.

Mattamy has nice floor plans but construction methods leaves a lot to be desired. Example - the install baseboards before flooring - WRONG!! In general the finish carpentry is very shoddy - using very cheep materials. The hanging light fixtures are very cheep and we have replaced them all in the first year of living here.

Mattamy designs nice floor plans, but other than that they are just OK. Be aware it is difficult to get warranty repairs done or a response. There were a lot of concerns that need corrected and 9 months later I am still chasing them down. Be aware, and consider alternatives builders

Nice houses, big kitchens, right next to mountain, easy access to I-10 outside of Tucson

The agents work hard to accomodate your building preferences, but be prepared to see most of what you want will be upgrades and cost more money. Also, before entering into a contact, or even looking, it is advisable to have a clear idea of what you want, including location and views. Mattamy at Dove Mountain is a drive from downtown, but is quiet and has great views. It's also advisable to take a week or 2 off, upon signing a contract, to be able to spend the time on picking out all your upgrades. Timelines are short. Choices have to be made quickly, so construction can move along. Construction was completed in a timely manner. We were very pleased with that. The current lead contractor, Matt, and his assistant, Gary, are conscientious and work to make things right. Sub contractors are hit and miss, as to quality and service. Our cabinet and electrical subs, for example, were excellent at the 30 day repairs. Others could learn from them. Overall, it has been a good experience. Our Mattamy agent, Tom C., was great and did what he could within the confines of the operations to help us.

If you get your home but by them make sure to use your own home inspector and make sure he has a good eye. Tons of shortcuts and defects

Absolutely the worst possible experience you could imagine buying a house. I was told my house would take 5 months to build, which now is on track for 9 months. I signed the contract before others on my block, yet, Mattamy is scheduling those other houses trades before mine, pushing my house further and further back. Project manager doesn’t seem to know what he’s doing. Choose another builder.

Beautiful! Lovely homes… some with courtyards! Kind of far out, but lovely scenery.

Don't go by the models, they're not a fair representation of the quality of build. The quality is mostly sub-standard, whether it's an upgrade or not. The fixtures, the paint, the floors, the doors - they all seem "cheap". Additionally, the landscaping is done without a weed barrier, so expect weeds to crop up almost as fast as the typical HOA cops who will frequently cite you for having weeds that the builder could have prevented for about $100. The value in the home and the quality of build just aren't there, sadly.
