Before meeting Ryan, I had made a multitude of failed attempts, trying to obtain a Reverse Mortgage. Ryan stepped in, when I had completely lost hope, and made a miracle happen! A Miracle! He closed an extremely difficult transaction, when others were not able.... Why? Because Ryan is professional, knowledgeable and most of all, honest. He is clear and concise, as he effortlessly guides you through each step of the mortgage process. Ryan was timely and accurate when responding to the millions of questions I brought to him on a weekly basis. He made it possible to understand the entire process, all the while always having my best interest front and center. I can not completely stress how important it is, to have the right individual guiding you through the extensive and somewhat frustrating process of the Reverse Mortgage and Ryan Philip, is that person! I highly recommend Ryan Philip, with Longbridge Financial. If getting the job done is important to you, than Ryan is the one to call! You will be happy that you did!

Longbridge-Financial Referral for Ryan Philip I spent 2 years researching how reverse mortgages worked. I started working with 2 other companies before a friend told me about Ryan and Longbridge-Financial. I wasn’t totally sold on the other companies. I was very discouraged It was over a year before I started working with Ryan. He was a breath of fresh air..no big sales pitch but a sincere interest in answering so many questions that I had and he made it all make sense. He was extremely helpful, came up with creative solutions and was extremely patient with all my questions. I could not have asked for more. My team was excellent Michael Schwinn and Debbie handled everything, always professional and we were able to get good interest rates. Agree with all positive comments about Ryan Philip. I just retired from 50 years of a professional career, during which I trained people in customer service and other communications activities. Ryan Philip is BY FAR one of the most competent professionals with whom I have ever interfaced. He thoroughly explained what I needed to know, predicted and answered questions I had, and has been extremely calming, polite, and professional. He stands far above the crowd as a service provider and I highly recommend him to anyone considering a reverse mortgage!

Ms. Sanders was SO helpful, and a delight to talk with. She walked me through setting up my account step-by-step allowing me to successfully set up my reverse mortgage account. Her demeanor and personality make her an exemplary customer service representative. What a breath of fresh air!!! Thank you, Ms Sanders!!!!

They sat on our application for two months, through March and most of April, claiming they needed some 'original loan documents'. They ghosted us for weeks at a time (while rates went up) and finally said they could not do the loan. We found another terrific lender who immediately accessed all the info we needed and closed at a great, lower rate (giving us everything we wanted) within four days. In all my years I have never encountered such incompetence and lack of professionalism among lenders.

Took awhile to get through and had to leave message on first call, but they never returned the message. Second time I got right through and Sheila Sanders handled the call, got everything i needed completed and was a true professional. 5 stars for her, 4 for Longbridge.

My sister applied for a reverse mortgage and she was fortunate enough to have Mr. Zachary Carter guide her through the procedure from start to finish. Mr. Carter was informative, professional, courteous, and patient in every way. It was obvious that he puts his clients first. He was always available to answer any questions that arose and he responded to all e-mails and phone calls in a timely way. Mr. Carter understands how important it is for people to stay in their homes for as long as possible. A reverse mortgage for many people during these financially trying times is more that just a loan, it's a life saver. In closing, if you are looking for a reverse mortgage, then Longbridge Financial is the company to call. Ask for Zach Carter and you'll get top-notch service from beginning to end. Longbridge Financial does not treat its customers with the honesty, dignity, and respect they deserve, and they are very slow to respond. They send a notary who is not legally trained to represent them at a closing with a 1" + stack of papers to sign in two hours, without emailing them for review several days beforehand. They charge you for their attorney to legitimize this, but don't tell you they are. When it turns out that their salesman, Chris Bahr, misrepresented important terms of the contracts, there was no competent person available by phone to explain or fix this. Where was my attorney? I still don't know who they are. It took their corporate attorney, Julie Stewart, many weeks to back off her dishonest insistence they could do nothing to fix the problem, and provide a partial solution. Meanwhile, I discovered that they had not reviewed the house's appraisal until I pointed out several problems. Then their manager, Meg Erickson, agreed with me that it was low and faulty, but did not send me their request for re-appraisal, which was ineffective. Later, she told me I could have communicated to the appraiser things she was not permitted to criticize. Then they advised me to let the appraisal lapse and replace it, but did not tell me that they were going to replace the whole application with one at a higher profit (Margin Rate). They withdrew my previous application from HUD without warning, permission, or stated reason. The manager, attorney, and salesman made every effort to deceive me about the higher Margin Rate (in writing), rather than just continue the former Margin Rate, which Longbridge controls. This is highly unethical. Longbridge Financial cannot be trusted. They are definitely part of the reason that the Reverse Mortgage industry has a bad name.

I sold real estate for 10 years and worked as a mortgage loan processor, too. It was always my practice to give a buyer or seller I worked with a special closing gift to celebrate the end of a transaction. That said, I believe Ryan Philip is one of the best mortgage professionals I’ve come across, so much so that I sent HIM and his family a special closing gift after he spent more than 2 years with us to obtain our Reverse Mortgage. We started the process just before Covid 19 hit, paused during the worst of it, restarted in late 2021, and finally closed in January. Living out in the country, we encountered numerous glitches to overcome, including taking over 5 months to find an FHA certified appraiser willing to travel to appraise our custom home, plus negotiate a new shared well agreement with our neighbors. Ryan was patient, informative, and professional during all of it. Ask for Ryan. You won’t be disappointed.

My experience with refinancing my HECM (Reverse Mortgage) was painless. Dealing with Joseph Ioppolo was a pleasure----very professional, courteous, and extremely responsive. The only reason for not giving 5 stars was the refinance took longer than the initial (much longer) finance and both were with Longbridge. This was not an issue with me as I did not plan on taking any money and only use this as "insurance" for the future in case something happens and hubby & I need to tap our equity. Easy process and ask for Joe!!!
