Bank of America (with Drive-thru ATM) NJ, Mahwah

This is my go to branch for business stuff. I always seem to find solutions for non-standard issues. Sarah always really helpful.

I've done business with this bank for ages. I applied online for a home equity line of credit with excellent credit and zero credit card debt and lots of equity in the house. They checked my credit which counts as a soft ding on your credit report. I was immediately denied and when I called in, they said it's because they were not issuing these types of loans for anyone who did not have a mortgage with them. This should have been disclosed before I let them pull my credit report and the resulting soft inquiry which despite what the call center representative said, does affect your credit if you apply for more than one loan in a short period of time. Obviously I now have to do so,because they had no intention of ever granting me this type of loan simply because I do not have my mortgage with them. Absolutely horrendous and unforgivable! The representative said there is nothing she could do. Shame on Bank of America!

I'm surprised in how poorly managed this Bank of America is ran. I don't understand how you have one teller handling both the drive-thru and front desk and you have two bank managers just sitting at their desk completely oblivious to the fact that three people ahead of me walk out without fulfilling their banking needs. Just because your a bank manager and being a teller is "not part of your job description" doesn't mean you should let your customers walk out in a terrible mood. This bank used to be fast and efficient but its headed in wrong direction in customer experience and service if it continues to be ran poorly.

All they will do for you here is take your money. An atm is more helpful

DO NOT go to this branch if you are in the market for buying a home or refinancing. William will gladly let you know he has been in the business for 20+ years and will tell you no before even trying to help you out by jumping to his own conclusions. Due to his inability to help I tried another BofA and later was approved by another BofA loan officer who was not indolent. William is certainly not pro customer service and I’m sure has turned away many business proposals due to his arrogance. I found him to be unprofessional and inert. The combative emails he then sent me surely showed his character and his lack of knowledge about the subject. Bank of America has helped me over 20 years and is a great bank. Unfortunately, this bank is lacking customer service due to staff such as himself and for that reason, I will not return.

This is the worst bank branch I have ever been too. It's the only BoA near my home so we have to use it. The staff doesn't want you going inside and this has been since before Covid-19. If you go inside they love to remind you there is an atm outside and you should use it. Its almost like the tellers want to get replaced by machines. The outside Atms are always breaking. Its usually the drive through one. The branch doesn't always open on time. I hate this bank!

They dont do notarization of copy of US passports! This should be mentioned in Bank of America website where it shows this bank does notarization at no cost. They should also mention the documents they dont do notarization.
