With rates being similar across most lenders, only the fact that I found a lender with no origination and lender fees caused me to choose to close with someone other than Rick.     Adam Shepherd did an outstanding job from day one. We were unsure due to our situation if we would be able to qualify, he immediately began to ask questions without making us feel pressured whatsoever and was able to guide us in the right direction to get started in the loan process. He has gone above and beyond since we past the preapproval process teaming up with our realtor to speak on behalf of us to listing agents stating we are strong and prepared to move forward if they accept our offer. Not only has Adam helped us along the way and answer any questions we have day or night, he always asked about our family and asks how are boys are doing with the transition and if they are starting to get as excited as we are. I would recommend Adam to anyone and truly appreciate all that he has done so far for our family as we move forward in buying our first home.

    While my preapproval process was great, this changed once I found my home and began the under contract processes. I was told I would need to bring approx. $18-19k to cash to close, but after trying to understand these numbers, I was told that there was a miscalculation on the Upfront PMI, that it was being added to my loan and to my cash to close. Then I was told to disregard this amount, but would definitely need $15k to close. When I asked Andrew to further explain the calculation, as I was anticipating approx $11k to close, Andrew would not explain the calculations. After trying for several minutes to understand the calculation, he said he’d have to speak to his manager and call me back. When he called me back about 40 minutes later, he then stated he had put in my cash to close that I would be paying off a credit card at close, this was not part of this discussion previously and was left in my file when he was determining its potential impact on my preapproval. Then he stated he was happy to report that his manager agreed to a $1500 discount on my fees. In between these calls I spoke with my real estate agent, who recommended we shop the mortgage before signing since Andrew was unable to explain the breakdown of the closing costs. When I told Andrew I’d be shopping the loan, he’s seemed shocked that I was unwilling to accept his number as facts, and confused why I’d want to. I have a problem just signing and agreeing to things when mistakes have been made and acknowledged, this was evident twice in my above explained situation, his calculations were grossly over calculated by $7k. And I was panic stricken to think that I potentially could lose my house due to the possibility of having to pay $18k at close when I only expect $11k. I signed all items Andrew sent, with the exception of the Welcome Packet, as it was explained this was the final authorization to proceed, and explained to Andrew I needed 24 hours to make a decision regarding my loan. He stated that I would be locked into my rate, even without signing the welcome packet, and we ended this call. I then got a call back from Andrew a few minutes later, he said he spoke to his manager and they wouldn’t be agreeing to the previously locked in rate until I returned the welcome packet. This is very much an intimidation tactic and a pressure tactic to gain business. Also when I received my preapproval with Loan Depot, I was connected with Mellow Homes, who then connected me to my real estate agent. And if I used the combination of the 3, I would received the grand slam bonus payment 30 days after closing. The connection was to my agents manager who then passed it to my agent. Supposedly according to mellow homes they were unable to connect me to the agent, so I would no longer be eligible for the bonus payout. It seems as though I was receiving the short end of the deal with regards to my interest rate, lack of explanation of cash to close, fees being charged by Loan Depot, and ultimately the refusal of the bonus payout if I continued with loan depot. It seems as though much is to be said with regards to your customer service and fee structures . At this point I have funding elsewhere with a lower interest rate and lower fee structure, in addition to customer service that is leaps and bounds beyond yours.

    My loan officer was racist to me on the phone and didn’t help or even bother to check my numbers to what I am qualified for before running my credit. All he did was keep pushing for me to pay for inspection and appraisals, knowing it wouldn’t work. Even when my agent asked him the questions, he sounded like he didn’t know what he was doing cause he kept contradicting himself is just the worst experience.

    I always think my experience is different and unique. I met Jennifer and started listening and working with her. Through the process of doing a VA refinance, Jennifer highlighted options that would make my unique situation work. After a setback in the process, I was told I was ineligible due to just a minor detail. However, Jennifer worked hard to take a second review of my unique, almost impossible situation and got my loan to a preliminary approval! Even now, a time later, my wife and I are very thankful for the work she does!     This was my 3rd loan with LoanDepot, and likely my last. The first 2 went very smoothly, this last one was a very painful process. It seemed like I got a rookie, this rookie did not know what to do, made many mistakes and clearly was struggling. Calls up the chain on of command seemed to do nothing more than put pressure on the rookie to get things done. They missed the closing by 3 weeks. You have lost my business.

    It was a simple refinance. Not sure whether your people are overworked or under stress, I will give that benefit of doubt. Maybe you need to hire more resources to do the back office job on time. The start of the loan process was good and went smooth, after that everything went downhill. I am just relieved that the process got completed. Your portal is effective and that should be used as a mode of communication rather than emails. There is only room for improvement in back office work. That needs to be done in timely fashion. It took almost 4 months to finish my loan process. 2 stars only for good start, great rates and a prompt responsive loan officer. Conor was awesome!! Underwriting took for ever.

    This has been by far the worst experience for us financing a home. We closed on the 8th and as of 11/29 our loan from out previous mortgage is not settled. Payoff amounts were requested days after the loan closed. We are getting different information from the your company and the title company and no one has returned our call to discuss to date. The attorney has yet to respond to our inquiries. I will never recommend your company to anyone else.

    I was able to get an amazing interest rate and lower my payment significantly. Both Park and Scott were very good about updating me on how my loan was going and making sure to inform me of everything I needed to submit for the process. A few times I got emails from them after regular business hours so I know they were both very dedicated to the process. I am very happy that I chose Loan Depot and that I was blessed with these men that truly helped me get through a difficult situation. I am so very happy to have done this on my own and to be able to stay in my home.

    I worked with Jennifer Cleary with initiating and starting off in servicing my loan. I was greeted with a friendly approach and had shared about a past experience I had with Loan Depot which wasn't so pleasant. Therefore with Jennifer, I remained very skeptical and did not want to experience the same unpleasant experience of the past. However, I listened to Jennifer, and right away I could tell she was providing me opportunities I have not heard before that Loan Depot could offer veteran consumers like myself! I did not have this experience before.

    Responsive especially Brian, even after we moved on to the next person in the process, when I was confused or had difficulty being in touch with someone, I could always count on Brian and he was simply wonderful. The rate was great and I appreciate all the work that was done on our behalf. I Also appreciated that loan depot reached back out to us when the rates dropped, although I would have appreciated not having to pay any additional fees outside of the mandated fees since we had only recently refinanced the same house. We also had to write a check a check at the time of closing, and to this day, someone has not been able to share what that amount of money was for, even though it was small. Overall though, it was an incredible experience and we would use the loan depot again.

It took longer because the actual lender was requiring more paperwork than normal because I am self employed, and I think the person processing our loan missed an requirement sent after the fact by the lender so things stalled, but in the end it funded at a good rate.

    Loan process took longer than promised even though it was a straightforward loan. Numerous notifications of changes to the closing statement with no explanation as to the what or why of the changes. Scheduling the closing was a circus with no one knowing what was going on. After we finally got the closing completed, we still had additional forms/signatures that were missed and had to completed later.

    Rhaffi was excellent at first but his communication regarding the process wasn’t very good which led to some frustration when we were told the company would match a better rate . I didn’t appreciate the way he spoke to me and was supposed to get back to me with the new loan rate and total amount increase we discussed but he never called back like he said he would. That was three days ago.We decided to just go with the competing company that have the better rate and deal. We already got our closing disclosure from them and are canceling the loan with loan depot.

    We were offered a good rate but our loan officer haven’t been following up with us. I’ve emailed him no response, called him and he said he will call us back. Then didn’t hear from him. We were given a link to the docs , apparently to sign the refinance docs, I emailed him to let him know that I don’t see the new docs . We were left thinking was it a scam? Really need to work on making sure there’s always a follow up. We started the refi a week ago and so far, we are unsure how to go forward. 3 stars only reflect our experience with one officer. So far, we haven’t had any problem with our loan.

    This place is awesome. We started with another lender in January, at the end of February we were still looking at 2 more months. Loan Depot got our refinance done in a month if not a little bit less. Amber is the bomb. She has excellent customer service skills and always responded same day. The whole process was so easy.     The agent was very friendly, but the method they used was very pushy. I'm assuming that's by corporate design. They promised they could match my local bank's incredibly low rate, which I knew was unlikely. Common sense told me I should have stopped before wasting my time and taking a ding on my credit. Then they tried to get me to lock in and give a credit card without getting a chance to read the actual rate. Guess what? It wasn't beating anything! The rate was a few thousandths higher and the apr was higher. The moment that really lost me was when the selling point was that Loan Depot would still want to work with us in the future to refinance even if they sold our mortgage to someone else. The 2 year guarantee thing... basically admitted my mortgage would be sold immediately So not a better rate and not a promise to be a good company to work with. The agent was just doing her job, and I feel bad she wasted her time

    The online portal is nice if it was used more to track the process of the loan and had a timeline of events to show when documents were posted. Underwriting was extremely difficult for anything beyond a simple loan. I would not use this company unless the rate was lower than everyone else.

    Couldn't be worse. SLOW. Underwriting did not answer in time and we went past our closing date. Calls and emails to management went unanswered. Lost our dream home. Had to find a new house and now have to move twice. They charge you upfront to pull your credit and they wanted $2k to buy down to a rate all other lenders were offering standard. Save yourself the head & heartache.

    Initial response was good until the rate was locked. Later on they were very un-responsive. They did all mess by updating the LTV value incorrectly which impacted my PMI got bumped 10 times which is ridiculous. They are not trying to resolve the issue though its their mistake. I would not recommend at all the Loandepot. They screwed my house appraisal as well. Most of the cast house value gets appraised but they made my house value lowed down.

    The first person we worked with was GREAT, Tyler Hollingsworth. When we were transferred to Carolina Snowden, she was extremely pushy and wanted everything done RIGHT THEN. We were not ready yet since our closing isn't until May 6th. Then she said she could lock in the date for then but it was going to charge us a 'small' fee. Over $4000 is NOT a small fee. So we ended up going with our bank that we have been with for over 20 years. They also gave us a better rate. When we told Ms Snowden, she said she could give us a better rate. IF that was true, WHY would you not give us that to begin with. So...we are getting our mortgage loan through our bank.

    Overall very satisfied! There was poor communication between the loan officer and sr account manager at times; however I eventually got the rate and terms I was seeking. I was also working with another lender, just in case I couldn’t get the terms I wanted. Also, it pays to review your documents and ask questions if you’re not sure about anything. It’s their job to explain the terms of your loan so you understand.

    I have been with Loan Depot since 2016. I have not missed any mortgage payments in all those years. I would think that after contacting this company to give me some information on interest rate in order to decide if I should refinance again, I didn't get a quick satisfactory answers. I was required to provide all the information about myself that I felt should have been in your system. I have had to provided many information to the loan processing agent like I am a new customer. In today's electronic age, I thought the loan process can be handled much smoother and quicker.

    I'm still on the fence and need some questions answered. I didn't know I was paying points, I don't need an appraisal (but there is an appraisal fee on my documents), and you already have my escrow (so why am I paying money into escrow at closing). I need to clear up some things with my loan agent. I shouldn't have to find these things out on my own. Being more up-front and transparent would help the process go a lot more smoothly.

    Roxanne contacted me to inquire if I was able to get a refinancing done and if I'm satisfied. The approach is very friendly and she's very knowledgeable. She was able to find the term I'm comfortable, she's very prompt. I've done several refinancing, this was the fastest decision I'd ever had. I did some shopping after and found that Loan Depot's term is the best I can get in the market, not even my current lender can match it!!

I am not exaggerating when I say that the customer service/care that Ellie provides is ABOVE & BEYOND any service i have ever received from a loan company. I felt as if she cared about me the person and never once felt our interaction during the pre-approval process was ever just transactional.     This was our 3rd loan from Loan Depot and by far the fastest, easiest, and no surprises. Everything went a lot quicker than expected. Sam Kim our loan officer was amazing in keeping in touch and explaining each step of the process. He returned every phone call even after the closing. Everyone treated us great from start to finish. By far the best experience we’ve had with any type of loan / mortgage.

    The only person that was nice and respectful was Shayne, other than that This company is a disaster. Closed on my loan twice without proper pay offs and employment. Never called me back and hardly ever answered any emails. Legal action was being processed. Severe lack of communication. Had to talk to all managers including up the ladder to the Vice President. I will never do any business with this company ever again. I wish I could give 0 stars.

    My last refi was not too great with Loan depot, very slow and unresponsive. Probably due to high volumes at that point. This time around it was a whole different experience. People I dealt with were excellent with communication and very quick to respond. The process was simple and fast. Excellent job everyone.

    I worked with a lending officer and Account manager (not mentioing their names) for the loan process. I have been following up with them regularly to make sure that there will not be any delay in loan closure. Unfortunately, it delayed by 5 days. I did scheduled my moving, cleaning, lease termination, appliances deliveries after the planned closing date. Due to the delay in the process I had to reschedule and pay extra rent to my apartment. Also, loan officer didn't capture Agent commission funds in the document. Also, after multiple reminders only Annexure -B funds has been captured. Being a first time home buyer, when I seek for clairifications abou. it got delayed and didnt close ontime. Was not able to use $xxxx agent commission during closing and had to take out from my funds to cover the closing costs. Had to spend extra $2000 due to the rescheduling of my lease, moving, cleaning etc... very disappointing Seems like there is only one person who knows in and out of the loan process- the Processing manager- Stephanie. She was super helpful in expedite the process. Without her It wouldnt have been possible to close the loan atleaset on 11/29 (Actual closing should be on 11/24). She made sure to close the loan process at the earliest.

    So you really want a review? We applied for a refinance loan on August 28 of 2020. We were told 30 days at the most. The industry average is about 15 days. My wife's credit is better than mine(820) but mine is also excellent(780). After not hearing from you I called in October. the agent had excuses. He was sick. A relative died. He was on vacation. He hadn't submitted the forms but was looking at them. The settlement date was January 12. 4 and 1/2 months after we started. We have since re-applied for another refinance with loan depot. They were sending messages about the danger of not responding quickly the interest rate would not be the same. Not good to threaten your customers. I am hoping for a better result this time around.

    Sorry - I can't appreciate your service - I thought I will give good referrals to the customer. I did refinance before - one of the worst service I face with this people. They send me 6 times disclosures for signing - It's a nightmare. I did my refinance on 2017 - my refinance company did fantastic job - I just got docs with in 3 weeks - got one time disclosure. My blunder - I should not trust Ellie Vargas - Can't recommend Loan Depot for Refinance.

    My goals were simple. Refinance a loan I already had with loan depot. I am an excellent credit, had a low loan to value and was extremely diligent in replying to requests. I locked my loan 11.18.20 The loan funded 4.30.21. I spent many hours sending unnecessary and duplicate information. My closing estimate was never correct. I am not sure what happened. My original loan with loan depot was much simpler. The experience was absolutely unacceptable.

    Christian worked as an customer advocate versus some in the industry that feel you owe them something! He prepped me as I was able to get most of everything needed for underwriting.     The service Person was great, answered all my questions and helped me through the application process quickly. This is my third Refinance with Loan Depot. The increasingly lower interest rates are some of the best on the market. On all three applications occurrences their service and communication have been have been outstanding.     From the original phone call throughout the entire process, I never felt pressured, I was informed of loan options and all my questions were answered to my satifaction. I also felt trust and honesty. I own a few homes and will use them again for any loan needs. This can be a stressful land time consuming process and I was well taken care of.     Erik was wonderful! I had been working with another company and I could not get them to call when it was convenient for me i.e after work or lunch. Erik made it a point to call and only talk as long as I could. It was so nice to have someone understand even though you want to refinance, it doesn't mean you have all day to talk about it. He was knowledgeable and made me confident this was the best choice. He was there to help me, and he made me feel like he was there for me.     Initial comment -- I've applied for a loan and uploaded some paperwork. Its like asking how I like a car before I've driven it off the lot... Ask me after closing how everything went, right? common sense... After closing -- The loan and the loan process went well and was handled very professionally.     Very impressed by the loan retention program and LoanDepot proactively reaching out to alert me of a lower rate and assisting me in refinancing to a lower rate. The loan representative responded to me on a Saturday and a very short amount of time we completed all the paperwork right then and there. The online documentation much easier than traditional method. I finished in minutes instead of weeks.
