Lake Michigan Credit Union E 8th St, Holland

I'm newer to LMCU, but have found their services and systems on par with other credit unions and banks. However, I do rank their customer service higher in general. This branch specifically is top notch! I had a really tricky situation with some of my accounts this week and they were kind and solution-oriented. Love LMCU.

Terrible! Our realtor recommended LMCU to us for our new mortgage and it was the worst decision of our whole process! I reached out about a loan and did not receive a single response for 3 business days! My husband reaches out and gets a response within 3hrs. Then even though I primarily handle our finances, have more experience and better credit they insist on listing my husband as the primary and not me. I was told it wouldn’t matter and we’d both have equal access to the information and Account, this is not true. I have never felt more discriminated against for being an independent woman. I would never recommend this place!

I reached out for an auto loan. I have a 772 credit score and offered to put up to 50% down on the vehicle I wanted. I was denied. The bank also discriminated against me for my age which is illegal. Crazy because if this was 2007, I wouldn’t need any documents, wouldn’t need any credit and would get approved for a $500k house, no questions asked. Very quick to destroy our economy in 2008. Then absent to rebuild the economy in 2019.

Thought about going 2 stars but just not deserved of it. They are predators who at least with me , love to charge fees and look for any reason to tack another fee to you. Especially if you do an auto loan with them. I think it's quite frankly garbage. I should of just stayed with my Kellogg community Credit Union as at least they will listen to you as an actual customer and won't try to pounce on you if you make a mistake with insurance or another type of issue. C ya LMCU!

I started a mortgage 30 days ago and now he says oh well its going to take another 30 days to Finish it. A mortgage usually take 30 days for a 5k mortgage against your house. Like honstelty they don't know what there doing. STAY AWAY FROM LMCU FIND A DIFFERENT BANK NOT WORTH YOUR TIME./

Overall, a good local credit union with a lot of useful financial tools, such as mobile banking (app), 3% interest checking, and low fees (when compared to a national bank). My only issue is the ATMs, which require an envelope to deposit cash. Staff has been easy to work with and are helpful.

Absolutely the worst experience I've ever had hands down. This Credit Union doesn't care about anything but making their profit. I've been a member for over a year and it's been the most stressful account I've ever had. There are plenty of other places to take your business and I highly recommend going ANYWHERE else. The holland staff is the only reason I've held on this long, corporate is trash.

Went here to get money at the ATM being a member of another credit union and they would only let me get $200 at a time so I thought OK and I did it twice and found out after they charged me $2.50 each time for a total of $5 dollars to get $400 dollars. What a scam. I wouldn't join Lake Michigan credit union if they were the last credit union in the world.

There are always long lines. They don’t seem understaffed but everyone just takes their time. I came in at 11:30 on a Monday and waited 20 minutes to deposit a check. During that time someone walked in no appointment and cut the whole line for assistance. No one said anything. I left very displeased
