Anne Marie is amazing to work with. She is personable and so willing to help with anything she can. I have never met a bank employee that goes above and beyond like she does. Hands down the best branch Key Bank has.

I just went in to cash my payroll check and they told me every bank in Utah charges a fee to cash their own checks! Really? I have never had to pay money to cash a check from the bank it originated from! This is ridiculous, $7.50 to cash a check is extreme! Then I was treated poorly because I told them my opinion! This will never be a bank I will open an account at!
Helllo Amanda - KeyBank charges non-customers a fee to cash a check at our KeyBank branches. While we believe the fee is reasonable, and is an industry standard, I understand your frustration. None of us likes to pay fees, even when we understand why they exist. I would like to offer you an explanation: KeyBank is glad to render services to our customers – services they pay for through regular checking account service charges. We are just as glad to render these same services to those who are not yet our customers – we simply ask that they “pay as they go” for them. Checks cashed by those who are not our customers still require the same level of service, hence the fee. We also feel strongly that consumers should have the choice to either cash a check at KeyBank and pay the fee, or choose not to, and go to their own financial institution. That is why the teller informed you of the fee before you completed the transaction. Please be aware that KeyBank policies comply with the Uniform Commercial Code. If there is anything else we can help out with, please let us know. ^ JK

While cashing a check I was asked for my Social Security Number. I asked why they needed my SS# the teller got angry and said it was to identify me. So I asked him how he was using it to identify me and the teller said take the check and go to your bank and cash it. So I will I highly recommend going to another bank and avoid this one at all cost. Why do they have to charge $8 to cash a check drawn on there bank anyway.
Hi Cecil, This certainly isn't the type of service we strive to provide, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I will forward this to our branch partners. The teller was on her cell phone. She was talking to the person on her phone. She had to ask me again what I wanted. I let her know she would have retained the information I gave her had she not been on her phone.
Amanda -I'd like to gather more details to send your feedback to the proper branch management. Please write us at [email protected] and reference case#65423. Thank you. ^CS

Brought check in that someone wrote me who banked with Key. They wanted to charge a $7.00 fee to cash their own check. Not a good way to make new customers. The lady was very rude and told me that all banks charged fees to cash their own checks. She is wrong. They are the only bank I have ever been to that does it. Shame on you KEY!
