Worse experience ever!! I walked in to retrieve stolen property and was treated terribly.I honestly think they were looking for a brawl,me being a lady they were bullies plain and simple. If you want to be treated like dirt this is the place for you. Those two guys were just plain weird! The only good thing is I got my property back double what it was worth because my choice not to prosecute family.

    Response from the owner

This has been a good bit of time back, but I still remember this like it was yesterday. Without going to deep into the details, lets just say this customer knew who stole the item, and they were close. When asked if she was going to press charges or provide legal proof the item was her item, she refused. We offered the item back to her for roughly what we had paid for it as a compromise as we hate thieves as much as the next person. She went off when we used the word thief and then we found out the relation between her and the person who sold it to us. She did not like us calling the person a "thief". We told her that if she would like to press charges we were more than happy to turn over the property and our records of our purchase to the police. She refused this and we again offered our compromise and she took it. I hate the situation that she found herself in, but we did the best that we could do with the terms that she offered.

Well I went in for the first time today to buy 2 gamecube controllers, they were $10 each. When asked about their return policy the man stated that if they don't work bring them back by tomorrow and get store credit (and assured that they were tested). Why did I buy them. Of course they don't work, now I am stuck with a store credit to that nasty store! Oh wait and Amazon has the same controllers, but brand new for $7.98 with 2 day shipping, and you have 90 days to return to them and get your actual money back. Save yourself the headache and shop elsewhere!!

Wanted to try an internet firearms transfer. Never done it before and didn't know what to expect. The people at Johnson City Super Pawn told me everything I needed to do and were very helpful. It went just fine and I'm a happy customer. If you are Military, Fire/Ems or a Sworn Officer, the transfer is free. You just have to pay for the background check. Check it out. Wayne

    Response from the owner

We are always more than happy to work with and help military and first response personnel. It's the least we can do for the people that keep us safe.

Lacked customer service. Woman was rude and disinterested in merchandise exchange. Definitely a crack addicts paradise. Yes, I do understand making a profit but legalized theft of property is not good business. Explains why they can't keep clientele.

Worst experience I have ever had! People working there were a very inexperienced young couple who had no idea what they were doing. They were very rude. I had a solid silver platter they turned down saying they thought it was not sterling. Took it elsewhere and recieved $100.00 quickly with no problem. It was clearly stamped on the back and an industrial magnet didn't stick to it. Their loss, I think they need to learn a little more before trying to run a pawn shop. A poor attitude always looses buisness!

    Response from the owner

I'm sorry you felt that way, but we didn't tell you that it was fake. What we told you is that we don't take in silver platters and flatware because of how much of it isn't solid silver, but instead plated.

This place has the worst customer service I've ever seen in a pawn shop. We have been good customers, we get our pawns out before the deadline. Every time. Today we took some of my Husband's tools to be pawned, they told us to go else where. My Husband grabbed his tools and accidently grabbed another saw that was right next to his. Upon reaching the other Pawn shop they recommend, we realized my Husband grabbed the wrong saw. I IMMEDIATELY called super pawn and told them we would bring it back as soon as we were done with the second pawn shop. 20 mins later I received a VERY rude phone call from an employee telling me i wasn't moving fast enough. It takes time at a pawn shop.. They have to make sure the tools work before they take them. That takes some time... And all of this made me miss a very important Doctor's visit for my HEART FAILURE, the whole reason we were pawning tools in the first place... So I wouldn't die without my medication. And they kept using the term STOLEN even after we returned the saw. The man who owed the saw that was mistakenly taken, not stolen, was very nice to my Husband and even told us the owners were going to call the police on us.. After I called them and told them we realized what happened and that we were bringing it back... apparently they expected me to run red lights and wherever else that would endanger my whole family, including my three very young children. These people really need to work on customer service. We were honest people and did exactly what we said we would.

    Response from the owner

We've had a total of one transaction with this couple, and that was a few years ago. So the suggestion that they regularly do business with us is inaccurate at best. Jeff (I assume that's his name since the comment is from Jeff, although obviously typed by "Jessy") brought in some older tools that we were unable to pawn for him. I suggested some other shops in the area that he might try, and he said thank you. He grabbed 2 of his 3 items off the counter and left. About this time, another customer who had just picked up his chainsaw and a plastic tub of tools from pawn and had a small child with him said he was going to take his child to McDonald's to use the restroom and would be right back. It was a busy morning, and I was busy with other customers so I didn't see Jeff return. I did check the security tape after and it shows Jeff returning and going straight to the plastic tub in the floor with our customers chainsaw on it (a few feet before the counter) and grab the chainsaw instead of returning to the counter where his item was. So, the customers chainsaw was not "right next to Jeff's items" as stated above. The owner of the chainsaw (who had just picked it up from pawn) returned, notice his saw missing and reasonably thought "Jeff" stole his chainsaw. I mention that the odd thing is that "Jeff" left his other item, and I thought the customer had left his chainsaw on the counter, so I'm thinking maybe it's a mistake, but I tell him I'll call the police if he wants. The customer says he'll give it a few minutes and if they don't return with it, he's going to take the item "Jeff" left. He also mentioned wanting a picture from our surveillance cameras so he could "hunt the guy down". Then, "Jessy" calls about 10 minutes later saying "Jeff" grabbed the chainsaw by mistake and says they'll return the saw. It gets to be about 20 minutes later and our customer asks if we have her phone number (it was on our phone from where she called previously). He then asked us to call her back and basically tell her to hurry or he's calling the police. At this point, we're hoping to get the guy his saw back and avoid having to call the authorities since she did call and say they'd bring it back, so we call and tell her she needs to hurry. They arrive a few minutes later and Jeff comes in with the saw. We thank him for returning it and explain that it wasn't actually our saw, but a customers who had been waiting. We thank him again, he leaves and we figure that's all resolved. Before leaving, the customer who owned the saw told us he could tell they had tried to start it because the choke had been moved, but he got his saw back, so he left. Then, "Jessy" comes in and goes off for nearly half an hour about how we weren't nice enough when we called her and how she missed an appointment and this is somehow our fault. Even though we didn't own the saw and didn't take the saw, we told her we appreciated her bringing the saw back and apologized to her probably 15 times, but she wasn't interested in an apology. She said she was going to go online and post negative comments about us and here we are. Thankfully, situations like this are not the norm. Most people who come to the shop are very friendly and easy to deal with, and it's a pleasure to deal with those people as we have for over 10 years now.

These people don't even deserve a 1. I would never suggest you put anything in there shop that you intend to try and get back. My daughter and I put a $1,300 gaming computer in their shop. When I called to get the date of the next payment due they told me that I was overdue and they had already sold the computer that had been there for three months with monthly payments. When I ask them to produce evidence that they did not receive payment or give me even a record of my payments they would not even talk to me I tried for a week to have any form of communication with these guys and they would not even provide proof and that they had the right to sell this computer. I have all the receipts of payments other than the last month which I am now desperately trying to find so I can take these guys to court. They don't know how to run a business they don't know how to talk to people . don't put anything in there you intend to get back , they will rip you off.

    Response from the owner

I'm sorry you had a negative experience, Miss Jacobs. Due to privacy laws, I'm limited in what I can actually mention here concerning a particular account or item, but I'll respond as best I can. We do not discuss specific accounts over the phone (or online) because we have no way of knowing with certainty who we are actually speaking to, and we don't want to give any personal information to anyone who shouldn't have it. If a customer would like a printout of their pawn contract or renewal receipts, we're glad to do that and we don't charge a fee for this service (some shops charge up to $5 to reprint a contract). Our only requirement is that you have to be at the pawn shop with your state issued ID (and you must be the person named on the pawn contract). For those not aware, a pawn is a 30 day loan that is secured with merchandise that is legally owned by the person doing the pawning. For example, let's say a person needs a little money to get by until their next paycheck. That person bring us an item of value (maybe a TV, video game system, jewelry, etc) and we offer to loan them an amount of money based on several factors, or we decline if it's an item that we can't accept (maybe an older item, a damaged item, etc). If they accept the offer, they get the cash amount that was agreed to, and we store the item at our secure facility. The customer then has 3 options: 1) Return to the store within 30 days and pick up their item by paying the amount that was borrowed plus a small fee 2) Return to the store within 30 days and pay a fee to have the item held for another 30 days (this is called a renewal payment) 3) Do nothing and eventually, the store will "pull" the item from their pawn inventory and offer it for sale If you choose to make a renewal payment to get an additional 30 days on your loan, your receipt will include general information concerning the pawn including the due date of the next renewal (which will be 30 days from the due date of the last renewal) and your forfeiture date. Renewals may be made as often as the customer deems necessary. After a pawn has went with no renewal payments for an extended amount of time, the item will be pulled from the pawn shops inventory and offered for sale in accordance with the pawnbroker laws for the state of Tennessee. So for example, if a customer signs a pawn contract in March, then makes a monthly renewal payment for 3 months (April, May, and June), but then makes no further payments and we don't hear anything from them until September, that item is no longer going to be available. We try to work with our customers whenever possible, but if we don't receive a payment or hear anything from a customer for almost 2 and a half months, there's nothing we can do at that point.
