As a married self employed couple, we thought it unlikely that we would qualify for the financing for our new home. We were very pleasantly surprised when we found out we were pre-approved! There is a LOT of documentation need to purchase a home, I'm sure a lot more for us with our self-employment status, but we have been able to submit everything needed through the Portal and it has made the process a lot easier. The staff is fantastic and has been patient with us as we learn the process, it has been a long time since either one of us bought a home. Our many questions are always answered quickly and we have never had an issue reaching someone to speak to. We look forward to moving into our forever home and closing this month.
