Intercontinental Capital Group Reviews

David Mazer was amazing throughout the entire process. He kept me updated, educated me, and honestly had my best interest at heart. I thought the process would be daunting but David proved me entirely wrong. I’d definitely refer anyone personally to David for their mortgage/ refinancing needs. He’s absolutely amazing!

I worked with them for a refinance. Long story short: they strung me along for almost 3 months (an entire quarter of a year, the longest I've ever had a refinance take) just to tell me at the end that they cannot refinance my home due to an ongoing minor litigation with the builder of the neighborhood. If they can't accept the risk, that is fine. I'm more upset at how long it took me to get an answer. That time could have been spent talking with other lenders.
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. Very sorry your experience wasn’t what you’d hoped. We will connect with management on this matter.

Watch out for this place. Our loan officer Jeffrey Hopkins didn't work in the correct escrow payment to our loan (either on purpose to dupe us into thinking it was a better deal than it was or because of negligence) so now we actually owe money back to the bank after refinancing. We repeatedly asked Jeffrey if there were any catches we should be aware of or anything we would owe after the refinance and he assured us that wouldn't be the case, so my husband and I definitely feel taken advantage of.
Brooke, we’re sorry to hear that we weren’t able to provide you with the best experience possible. We have located your loan in our system and have escalated this matter to higher management to review.

Jason Jackson was amazing to work with. This is the second time we’ve chosen to go through him for our loan needs. We will continue referring anyone we know

Please do NOT use this company for refinancing a mortgage loan!! The beginning of the process runs rather smoothly, but after your initial start (providing all of your documentation for your loan), you will be set adrift in a sea of confusion with no contact!! They do not answer the phone, and they do not return messages. Also, please be aware that your mortgage will immediately be sold to another company. Ours was sold to Fannie Mae before our first payment was even due. We had nothing but headaches from this company, and it took an incredibly long time to get approved (and my husband and I have very high credit scores). They took so long to approve us that we had to send in more documentation because the forms we sent in at the start were no longer valid due to the lengthy time factor. When we did get approved, we did not learn this from ICG. We found our from our insurance company. ICG couldn't even be bothered to tell us that we were approved after we repeatedly asked when we would know. Please go elsewhere!!!
Hi Teresa, we’re very sorry that that was your experience with us. Your comments will be shared with the rest of the teamas we continue to improve our process.

Joe was incredible from the start of the process. He was in constant contact through phone and email. He tried his hardest to do his job, but sadly had to rely on others to do theirs. He was a true professional. I would gladly recommend Joe. ICG on the other hand was a horrible experience taking 4 months to complete a simple refinance with a lot hoops to jump through and balls dropped on their end of the court. I would have stayed with my mortgage company if I knew what I know now.
Lewis, we are sorry to hear that your experience with ICG, with the exception of Joe has been less than satisfactory. Thank you for providing that feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our process. If you are willing, please send a detailed complaint to [email protected] so that we can further investigate.

If I could go back in time to two months ago when interest rates were at an all time, low, I would and I would choose ANY other lender than this company. Living in the Bay Area where prices are skyrocketing, we wanted to take advantage of COSTCO’s preferential rates with this lender. We have still not closed, their inspector was inept and the constant “desk reviews” mean we have lost thousands of dollars while waiting. Every month they need new payroll letters so more delays. I am still not sure if we will ever close this loan. Run, do not walk to any other lender. The only reason I give them two stars is they have a good interest rate which Schwab and others would have matched. I have refinanced homes since 200 and this is hands down the worst experience of any lender, ever. Also we’ve been bounced around from Stacy to Harry to Ava. All nice enough humans but they can’t seem to get the job done.
Gillian, we are sorry to hear that your experience at ICG thus far has been less than satisfactory. We would like the opportunity to investigate and set things right for you. If you are willing, please send an email to [email protected], providing your loan number, so that we can inform higher management of your case to investigate and help push this along for you.

This is my 5th house so I am not new to the process. David by far was the greatest I've ever worked with. Communication, follow up, the way I actually was treated like a person rather than just another form he had to fill out. I will NEVER buy another home without David leading the way Thanks David Jamie Glass

I started several months ago. Amir the loan officer was very good with keeping me posted. Now I really don't know what is going on. Another person (Blake) called stating Amir is no longer with company. Then Brianna came to the picture. She followed thru with me at one instance. Then that was it. My emails was not answered. This is a very long and nerve wrecking process. I am getting uneasy because of these SCAMMERs. I thought this is going to be a smooth experience. We used Quicken Loans in the past and did not take long. I thought I'd try Green Tree/ICG. The offer was too good to be true. Please somebody. I am still waiting. I already paid appraisal and somebody came a month ago. Thank you.

Ron, was very professional in every engagement I have with him. Prompt to answer all questions both by phone and email. Was very helpful to offer his advise, he will make you feel you have known him for long. He was out for for sometime and he was very diligent in informing me in advance and finished what he could before he left and directed me who to contact during his absence. Due to this all went smooth and per the planned timeline we setup. Thank you Ron.
Hi Tamiru, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with a review of your experience. We are pleased to hear that our team made your experience pleasant!

If you value your time and aren't looking for unnecessary frustration and broken promises, DON'T DO BUSINESS with Intercontinental Capital Group (aka Fellowship Home Loans). We both have credit scores above 770+, long term credit history with excellent payment histories, low debt to income ratio, started process of refinancing our mortgage for less than half of appraised value in March 2021, submitted all paperwork and supporting documents as requested, even conversed with agent if we should pay April property tax payment or if this would be handled in the new loan, but paid them when no firm closing date was given, just "it won't be long". April came and went and only "progress" was us re-submitting paperwork that they "needed again". By May, a "supervisor" came into the loop after the loan processor dropped the ball and never pick it up and eventually were assigned a new loan processor, but by now several documents had "expired" and we needed to once again submit all new. Nothing happened towards closing our refi unless we called or emailed multiple times to get updates. They asked and received verification of my employment at least eight times, even though we were told the start of the process and throughout that my income (I'm a Pastor of a small church) was "gravy" and not needed to qualify for the loan. Every time we called we were told just another week or two. We asked several times for them to cancel our loan process, they promised to do so, but then refused to send confirmation of cancellation. After more than 6 months of empty, broken promises, us having to do their work on multiple fronts and endless frustration, we finally closed, but NEVER will we do business with this "business" again. Be warned. They continue to send us unsolicited refi offers in the mail. This is telling of how mismanaged they are. There were a couple of nice and I believe competent employees, but as I told them, that when the company you work for is incompetent, you appear so too. I've never had to work so hard to let a company make money off of me. STAY AWAY!

Joe is the best! He treated me like a person and not just a customer. He was super patient and always returned my calls. He would get me answers as quickly as I would asked them. I super appreciate Joe and I look forward to working with him in the future. I will always refer him to anyone that is looking for a home loan or refi! Thank you Joe!!!
Thanks for taking time out of your day to review us. We are thrilled to hear that you had a positive experience!

Thaer was easy to talk to and straight to the point with how I can save money each month. He always returned my calls and text messages. He also seemed to care about my well being and made sure I understood everything about the refinance process. I would highly recommend him to my friends and Family. Thaer keeps his word. Even when things were rocky, he was able to deliver on his promise! Thank you again my friend! God Bless
We appreciate the review. Thanks for taking the time. We will share this with the team!
