I would rate my experience with Hilsborough Title (HT) as unsatisfactory. The facts. I am a retired home builder so I have dealt with thousands of closings and many Title Companies, so I am not ignorant on how they operate. My dealing with Hillsborough Title is as a lender, with Nicole Culbreath the closing agent. On March 23rd I received wiring instructions from HT for the closing that was scheduled for March 27th. I replied that money was wired the 24th and that the note and mortgage was sent to HT, with instructions to return the recorded note and mortgage to me at my P.O. Box. 2 weeks later on April 14th I emailed Nicloe Culbreath with a request for the note and mortgage. I received a reply that the Title policy had not been completed, I had not requested the Title Policy but the note and mortgage so her response did not address my request. On April 28th I received my first check for the loan, I then realized that I still had no documentation for my files. On April 29th I emailed my 2nd request for the note and mortgage. There was no reply so I called Nicole Culbreath and spoke with the receptionist who could not help me with my request but said that she would have Nicole Culbreath call me. No return call. I am still waiting. As a follow up. I finally received a phone call and received my recorded note and mortgage on 5-5-2015. There was not a lenders title policy so there was no need for the delay.
