Guild Mortgage - Carson Vaughn Southwest Pkwy, Austin

I should have gone with my initial gut feeling, on my first call with Aaron he would cut me off when I was talking and clearly just wanted to end the conversation asap. For some strange reason, he was much nicer when my boyfriend would talk to him (misogynistic much?) Not only that, but we ended up having to dish out nearly $10,000 more than we had discussed. On MULTIPLE occasions we SPECIFICALLY said how much we wanted to put down on our house (including closing costs and any other fees). We signed all the paperwork and then get a call a few hours later that they misunderstood us and tried to convince us it was a "good deal" because our monthly mortgage payments would be around $50 less, completely garbage response. Aaron was on vacation when this happened and his team clearly did not know what they were doing or they just weren't paying attention. And to "apologize" to us, our realtor had to ASK him to compensate us, which ended up being only a $250 gift card. Absolutely horrible experience. 10/10 would NOT recommend, save yourself the stress of working with Aaron and his team and find somewhere else!

Carson and his team are top notch! I was building a new house, and he was able to get me a better rate than the builder’s lender. Every week we get an email update with where we are at in the lending process. My wife even commented to me how nice it is to get those updates so we know where we are at, and what we still need to do. The process was so simple and painless for us. We also couldn’t write this review without thanking his team for such on the spot service. Meaghan was always there for us with any questions we had. Wendy was on top of making sure we had all the documents required. Carson helped make sure we got the best rate, and the right loan for our needs. I have recommended my family, friends, and clients to Carson. I have only received positive feedback. His team is very professional, and will also make the experience enjoyable. They are a pleasure to work with. I hope if you are shopping around for a mortgage lender you will take a look a Guild Mortgage and Carson Vaughn. I know you will find that you will get a great rate, but even just as important you will get a working personal relationship with him and his team which makes the process of getting a loan much more comforting.

Working with Luke, Carson and the ENTIRE ATX TEAM at Guild Mortgage was incredible and surpassed my expectations! They were overly communicative (which is nice for a first-time home buyer) and they were able to get everything done in a short timeframe, with a quick turnaround. It was such a positive experience, compared to the previous lender I was working with. I appreciated the weekly status emails as well. Everyone I came in contact with was helpful and seem genuinely interested in helping me and made me feel like I was their only client. It was a great experience and will absolutely recommend them to anyone I know looking to purchase!

My wife and I decided to give Carson and his team a chance after they were recommended by a previous realtor of ours. We locked in with Carson at 3.25% during our new build process. Let this be a warning, once you’re locked in with Guild, Carson and his staff will put you on the backburner. This was the case for us. On several occasions we would contact his office to ask a question and were often told “Carson and Meaghan are in a meeting” or “on another call”. We would email them our questions – Meaghan or Carson would reply “I’ll have an answer for you by end of day” and we would never get an answer until 2 or 3 days later after reminding them again. So, we decided last minute to go with our builder’s lender because Carson could not match their 3% rate. After we informed Carson of this, he became incredibly disrespectful, unprofessional, and tried to make my wife and I feel extremely bad for doing what was best for us and our future. He displayed a lot of attitude over the phone and even raised his voice at us. We told him we didn’t appreciate him yelling at us and he never apologized. We lost all our respect for Carson and will never be recommending him or Guild Mortgage to any of our friends or family. Please don’t let his fake nice fool you or somebody else...make sure and do your research on lenders, shop around and compare rates.

Carson & team, We closed on our mortgage at 5pm last night. Due to the weather here in Texas, the closing agent was willing to meet us in the parking lot of the title company and close in her car(the office was opened so we were able to go inside). This is only one example of the great customer service I have received from your team. From the moment I called everyone I spoke to was pleasant and followed up in a timely manner. I never felt like I was forgotten in the process. We have refinanced a few times over the years. This was far and wide the best experience. Special shout out to Mark who was always there to answer my questions and Anneliese for keeping in touch when she was without power for four days. And lastly, thanks for the amazon gift. Carson is great at what he does for people that would like to purchase or refinance their home. When my clients ask me for a good mortgage officer, I am just honest and tell them that I have been referring Carson Vaughn since 1999 just because I know that he will do his best and take care of them. When my husband and I decided to move again in 2005 to the Country just outside of Austin (Green Acres here we come) Carson was there for us with a good solid loan for us along with a terrific attutide on what made us happy! I am wrting this review because it is true and as we are entering into the new year of 2021, I find myself reflecting on the wonderful business freinds I have in my life and Carson Vaughn with Guild Mortgage is truly one of my friends. This was by far the smoothest transaction I've had. The biggest impression Carson and his team (Meaghan and Windy) left with me was how attentive they were--despite how overwhelmed they must've been through the peak of COVID-19 crisis lockdown, as well as processing applications from everyone rushing to refinance due to dropped rates. Whenever we interacted, it felt like I had their undivided attention.
