Because of an error in reporting credit activities, Green State has cost me up to $10K in new homeowner grants that I am now unable to re-capture once they finally fixed the error. I had called numerous times to ask them to fix their error as it had taken a toll on my credit score just as I was beginning the search for a new home. The drop in score took me from being approved for the grant to not approved. Green State refused to correct it, until I noticed a couple months later that my savings account had been wiped out. Turns out, they took all of it and put it toward what they assumed was an overdue balance. It was showing overdue because of the error, again on their part, and the insanely slow pace of the issue being corrected. Once I demanded to know why they wiped out my kids savings to make a double payment on my behalf for the month of October, the agent was actually helpful (for once) and said she saw the error and would replenish the account AND would ensure the credit reporting be corrected from October. After I had been fighting to fix it for months. Well my score boosted back up to where it was, but it was too little too late as the window between correction and closing was too small and the Grant would be unable to be processed in time. So thank you Green State, for making the home buying process much more stressful and complicated than necessary and for costing me up to 10K in down payment and closing fees I should NOT have had to pay if not for your poor communication and unhelpful associates in almost every department I had the displeasure of dealing with.. If I could go back in time, I would have gone with my initial instinct to avoid Green State.

Best place I’ve ever banked with.I actually profit from banking with green state credit union, formerly university of Iowa community credit union. They approved me for a loan for a motorcycle at the lowest interest rate I had ever been offered and I decide to open an account here, one of the best financial decisions I ever made. I banked with chase, formerly bank one for 19 years they never did anything for me.

They really do treat you like a human, and they go out of their way to help you get things approved. I know I’m their number one customer but they have helped me get through cars being totaled getting credit back and so much more. Docs box breaks is defiantly not my business account🤫

Stacey Hankins goes above and beyond to help you and direct you. She did my loan and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else. Green State is lucky to have her. She is a true asset. She has worked with several of my friends and they all say the same thing.

Stacey Hankins was incredible! My wife and I just moved up to the area and needed a local financial institution. When we got our auto loan through Greenstate, we decided to check them out for our other accounts. Stacey ended up getting us all situated and even got us approved for a credit card with a great rate and lowered the rate on our motorcycle loan by refinancing it through Greenstate. Great place to bank with. Almost all of the the staff are friendly and good to work with. Got me a way lower rate on my car loan too. Only issue I've ever had was when trying to get a home loan. Kept getting the run around when trying find out about first time home owners loans and programs.

The concept of this bank is good, too bad they don’t have good employees to match. Good luck getting any service here, we waited six months and did everything they asked and now we’ve just missed getting the house we had hoped to get because all last week they didn’t want to pick up their phones or email us back and even today they still couldn’t set anything up. This bank is purely a waste of your time.
