Gate City Bank 13th Ave S, Fargo

Gate City Bank is a great bank. I was new to Fargo and needed a local bank ASAP. I ended up asking some of my new coworkers for advice and was referred here. It’s been about 3 months of being a customer for me, so I think I’ve had enough time to have an opinion. Customer service is great and it was easy to open an account and get all my stuff moved to my new accounts. Customer service has been great from day one. I don’t dread stopping by the bank or calling like I did with the national bank chain I used to bank with. I always use this location because it’s in between work and home, and everyone is always so nice and helpful.

This review isn't specific to this location, but just in general with how impressed I was recently working with Gate City Bank. I have moved away from ND but kept my banking here, and I'm so glad I made that decision. I had an issue with an unauthorized user withdrawing substantial amounts of money from my account, and I called customer service and they. resolved this quickly and effortlessly for me. I got to speak to a real person without having to wait on hold, and the person helping me (Danielle) was very kind and helpful during a stressful situation. Highly recommend this bank!

We worked with art, senior loan officer, on an auto loan at this location. I cannot say enough good things about him. He truly is someone who cares and tries to set you up the best way possible. The whole process was easy to do and was a very comfortable setting. We will only be doing loans through art from here on out and plan on referring all of our friends and family his way as well!!! Perfect experience.

I was dissatisfied with my "Big Bank" for many years. All of the hidden fees, all the red tape you had to go through to get something done, all the ATM fees.....the whole 9 yards. One day, I finally had enough and made the switch and I could not be happier. I should have done this years ago. Everyone at this location is helpful, kind, and the get things done! To anyone that is looking to make the switch: I strongly recommend this bank, and don't be worried about all of the hassle of switching your auto payments, getting new checks, and so on because they help you with all of that too! It is a very smooth transition, and you will be glad you did it.

My daughter went to the branch on 13th Across from West Acres and asked to see a loan agent about a personal loan. The loan officer she spoke with was rude and blew her off, telling her to go to a different branch and see a loan officer there. I called this branch and attempted to set up an appointment with a loan officer for tomorrow 1-24-2020 @ 11:00. I was told the loan officer is still at lunch when I called at 1:40 on 1-23-2020. We'll see if he calls me or my daughter back in a timely manner and schedules an appointment or not. NOT IMPRESSED WITH THEIR CUSTOMER RELATIONS. 1-24-2020 UPDATE: The loan officer never did call my daughter back. Going to suggest to her that she changes banks. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RUDE !!!!!!

Gate City Bank is a great place to bank. Over the years they've been so helpful. Always friendly and professional. I had a couple of problems over the years but they were resolved with respect and professionalism.

Decided to change banks to fit my needs better so I went into the one on 13th which I've never been in before to close my accounts, they closed 2 accounts and gave me all the money in cash and on my way out I told the lady maybe you should id people before you close there accounts and just hand over the money. They gave me a large some of money with out ever identifying me... think long and hard about where you put your money and if you can trust them ...

We bank with Gate City and ended up working with David VanBruggen as our mortgage lender after speaking with other local lenders in Fargo. Since this was our first time buying a home, Dave was great in answering all of our questions and making sure we understood all the numbers. He even quickly responded to my email asking for a mortgage estimate on a Saturday during Easter weekend as he was building a playset for his kids! My husband and I were impressed with his dedication and attention, and we'd recommend him to others looking for mortgage lenders.

I've banked with Gate City for years. Today was the first time I've EVER gotten bad customer service. I understand there's policy to abide by, but the guy who helped me today didn't say sorry, give advice/other options, not anything helpful (can't think of his name: white, early 30's maybe, short dark hair, glasses..). He just stared at me like an idiot, and said "yeeah... bye." Absolutely disappointed Gate City, g-whiz.. off 13th Ave. Fargo, ND, across from the mall.

My card was stolen, I went in and informed a bank teller and called their fraud department. My call was never returned and my card was never closed. I brought this issue to their attention before my account went negative and they did absolutely nothing besides send my case to collections!! Your customer service is a joke and you fail as being decent human beings.
