My family and I have been using Fred Parmalee for all of our tax needs for close to 20 years and he has consistently done a great job for us. Fred is a very accomplished professional and is extremely knowledgeable of the tax codes and laws. In addition, he uses the latest tax filing technology to ensure that our taxes are prepared and filed correctly and efficiently. He is very personable and explains things in a simple manner. I would recommend Fred with great enthusiasm to any potential client.

Extremely hard to get in touch with, and horrible at getting back to you. You need to physically show up at his office unannounced in order to get any kind of response. I finally smartened up and stopped going to Fred after receiving notices in the mail from the IRS regarding my taxes. I guess their were some filing discrepancies...long story short, I ended up having to pay over $3,000 in back taxes and penalty fees. Where was Fred during all this? Your guess is as good as mine. I couldn't get in touch with him. The sad thing is, I think I would have been able to avoid paying what I did (or at least some of it) had Fred help me resolve the situation.

Fred has been a lifelong friend. He is very knowledgeable at what he does. I am very glad to have him as my accountant/friend.

We had Frederick Parmalee as our accountant for 4 years, in fact we recommended him to many of our friends and family members who became his clients, because he is a nice guy, but I guess being "nice" is not the right characteristic for choosing an accountant, because in 2012 when we got hit with an IRS notice regarding our 2010 tax return, Parmalee was nowhere to be found. My husband called him in many occasions and left messages explaining the situation but we never got a call back. Long story short, my husband had to go over our 2010 tax return and figured out that Parmalee had shorted our income by $8,000! No wonder why we got a return that year... Now we are also being hit by the CT revenue service for the same issue I assume, and we must pay CT almost $1400 of which $400 are interest and penalties. So yes, hated his service and would not recommend to anyone.

Fred is amazing! We have been going to him for years. He provides great service and explains things very well! We love him!
