    Edit: I was contacted by Fortera and they helped me resolve me issues. The money was promptly credited to my account. Thank you! I’ve been a member for Fortera CU since 2017/2018 but, I will be closing my account there after the experience I’ve had with them. My account was fraudulently accessed on 01/30 as of today, 02/08, I am still missing 400 dollars money used fraudulently purposes an additional 100-150 in courtesy pay fees because of the fraudulent charges. The bank tellers at the branch referred me to a 1-866 number to discuss the problem. When I’ve called that number 3+ times, waiting 20-45 minutes each time, I’ve been referred to members services. I’ve then called members services to wait another 15-25 minutes to speak to someone only to be referred back to the 1-866 number. I’ve heard contradicting claims from people I’ve spoken with “you need to file a second claim” “no, you need to file a fraudulent claim (which I’ve already done…). At this point, I’d love the 500-600 dollars missing from my account and to move on from the terrible customer service. I do not recommend them. In an already difficult situation, they’ve managed to make it even more difficult.

    This Credit Union has made my life a nightmare. I lost my job during the pandemic as many others. They sent my account to different debt collectors. They won’t work with me to pay them back directly, now that I’m back on my feet. They sent me to places that are charging me over 30% interest and fees. I’m on a payment plan that will never get me out debt. I call and no will give me what I owe or allow me pay the original debt that was owed. They rather have me drown in more debt and not be responsible. This is disgusting and I hope this helps others understand who you are entrusting with your money, loans, and finances.

    Just any other bank in town will do better for your business and personal accounts, they will do a hard pull in your credit just to open a checking account, ATMs won't have cash and barely working sometimes.

    I moved my account from another financial institution. Kansas, my personal banker, was wonderful! She made the process effortless. She retrieved answers to my question from other members of the also very knowledgeable staff. Kansas and everyone at forteara on Madison are friendly and made my experience truly enjoyable.

    My wife's savings account was hacked by some people that purchased money gift cards from Walmart in Bentonville, AR. I did some research and saw that this particular incident has been going on since 2016. However there’s been an ongoing investigation since then. My wife is suppose to receive notifications for whenever there’s a transaction on the account. As these scammers were deducting funds from her savings, not one notification was sent. By the time she checked the account, it was completely drained including withdrawal fees which put the account in the negatives. She made a claim and the credit union initiated an “investigation”. It has been 2 months now and one $8.00 has been credited back to the account. No one answers phones at the credit union. When you go there they say “I’ll make a note of it”. By the way they said the didn’t suspect any fraudulent activity…..every time you withdraw from that savings account it charges a nice fee. Who in their right mind would use that type of savings account likes it’s an everyday checking account. If i could I’d give this credit union a negative star.

    I would rather listen to hours of drunken ramblings than ever have to call this place and wade through the robot again. 🙄 Edit: several weeks later, having dealt with them again and their never ending hold, would still rather the drunken ramblings. Will be refinancing if for no other reason than TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.

    This bank is a joke and should be closed. If you can bank with any other bank, do it. Every since I got an auto loan from them, it’s been nothing but headache. I’ve had hundreds of dollars taken from my account due to them not accepting a check 14 days later. I had to use their mobile deposit because the ATM wouldn’t accept deposits and the banks were closed during the pandemic. Their reasoning was that I didn’t write my name on the check when it was clearly printed on the check itself. Then I pay my bill 7 days in advance just to get more money taken out my account on the actual due date. If there’s a $0 balance, then why would you charge me again? The worst part is that I have to call them and wait 38 minutes just to be connected to one of their rude employees. Think her name was Krissy or Kristan. She answered the phone like I’m an inconvenience and just talks over me like I’m a child. I’ve had it with this bank. I’ll refinance my auto loan to someone who know how to treat their members.

    Hands down Fortera has the worst website I have ever had to deal with. Account got locked months ago and I gave up and started paying in person. Well I forgot to pay and I really needed to pay the bill online but I was still locked out. You would think I could just reset my password but that would be too easy. They said I had to call them to have the account unlocked. I called them but they were unable to help me because business hours were over. Why have a living human being working late if they can’t help me with account issues? They had to put in a service request. Today I got the service request call. Which they unlocked my account but another number had to call me to give me a temporary password. Seems like a waste of time. Just allow me to change my password. Call came in immediately so it’s whatever. I get my new password all set up. I go to try to pay the bill and I am not able to pay online because I don’t have a checking account. Time and time again this website has failed me. Who ever designed the website and continues to run it deserves to be terminated. In a time of online banking I have never seen such incompetence.

    I have communicated several times how unsatisfied I am with Fortera Credit Union and even asked to speak to someone in corporate due to ongoing issues with being able to move funds in my business account. Other issues include but are not limited to slow service in the branch, branches closing and limited services not being transfered to the remaining branches, closing for employee training during the work week, placing fraud alerts but never making live contact with customer or shutting off the card...manager allegedly calling from corporate and not offering any solutions just talking in circles, pure lack of understanding whose money it really is, terrible excuse for a credit union. Grave inconvenience all the way around!!

    I would like to find a real credit union but this is just a bank. There ok for deposit accounts with little to no fees, but if you have any goals I would pass. I have been with them for 7 years with no problems and the only thing they've done for me is an auto loan that has an interest rate that I could have gotten at any crooked finance company. I wouldn't waste time with this again. Going back to a regular bank soon. And, there's no pre-qualification so they do a hard pull before they tell you no, even though they monitor my credit report. They are a joke

    Please avoid this Credit Union. The rates for loan are insanely high and the underwriters are un educated simpletons that have no business being in their positions. The Credit union is sub par at best, with little ability to assist. customers. I'd assume that it is mostly ran by interns...
