We were moving across states with new jobs into a new build which had its closing date pushed back twice delaying things by months, while dealing with interest rates going crazy, selling our old home while living in it, and the spring/summer housing market madness. After overcoming all of that, I am extremely grateful I got to work with Scott Spicer on my loan. He got me the best rate locked in throughout all the delays while rates rocketed. He was very knowledgeable and always answered my calls whenever. We even decided to go with him instead of the builder’s lender that came with credits. He’s a good guy that works hard. In hindsight after observing the service I received from my realtor, builder, movers, packers, and all other moving related services, I can safely say they all sucked to some degree. I was just another client fit into their “over-promised” schedule. Scott was truly the only one positive experience. He always delivered. He never over promised. When rates plummet I’ll definitely be reaching out to refinance. Cheers!

Mark recently helped my wife and I buy our new two-family house (we closed in March) and also helped my parents with their financing in order to buy our old house (They closed at the end of February.) Needless to say, there were a lot of moving pieces and elements that needed to be timed properly for everything to work out. Not only did Mark and his team never miss a deadline anywhere within either deal, they were instrumental at several points in helping the other actors to avoid missing their deadlines. Mark's knowledge of the real estate industry is impressive and I heard repeatedly from everyone else involved in both deals how impressed they were with not only his expertise, but his responsiveness. For my parent's purchase of our home, he was able to get them a 3.0% interest rate in early January, with zero-down as a second home purchase (something we were repeatedly assured would be impossible by others). This was significantly better than anything else my parents' had been able to find on their own (to the point that they were skeptical of whether it would turn out to be too good to be true) My wife and I, on the other hand went under contract back in mid-December and Mark was able to get me a rate that was significantly lower than any of the other half-dozen lending agents I had spoken with up to that point. Not only was the rate lower, but he was able to offer me an extended rate lock that was weeks/months longer than anyone else was even willing to entertain. So remarkable was the deal that Mark worked out for me, that several others involved with the deal insisted that it was too good to be true, and kept trying to tell me that there was no way I was going to be able to close the deal with the numbers he was offering. That said, Mark made himself available to me 24/7 for the three months between going under contract and closing on the house. We closed on-time and with almost the same exact numbers that he had quoted me back in December. We closed on our dream multi-family house in mid-March with a rate of 2.25%, Zero-down, at over a million dollars for the property. Of everyone involved with the deal, Mark is the only one who never missed a beat, never over-promised, and followed through with everything he said he and his team would be able to do. We experienced delays from nearly every other actor in the deal, particularly on the seller's side of the process. Again, Mark and his team were instrumental at several points in either directly intervening, or helping walk me through the process of ensuring that the deal continued to make forward progress toward closing. My wife and I are hoping to look into buying a second house in the future and I can't imagine buying another property without at least giving Mark and his team the chance to match and/or beat all other offers for lending. I would recommend anyone reading this to at least offer him the chance to prove that he really is as great as all of his reviews says he is before moving on to anyone else.

My loan officer was Kim Shuey. Working with her was the best experience I've ever had while getting a mortgage. She was extremely customer focused, a creative problem solver, extremely knowledgeable regarding the industry and her products, in short, she is simply the best. I highly recommend her and FMS if you are looking for a smooth process and great rates.

Mark was very knowledgeable and helped us save so much money. He was able to get us a lower interest rate then the other lender we were going to sign up with. I highly recommend him to anyone buying a home.

Absolute worst mortgage loan company I could have chosen. We ended up having to move are closing date because they did not get everything done in time, which cost us a lot of money and head ache. They used the excuse of "fat finger" for multiple things. I don't have time to wright everything they did wrong but I do not recommend them to anyone. They lied about the rate I was getting. I had to schedule the appraisal, after noticing it wasn't done the week before closing. I asked several time if we need anything else (the week before closing) they said no then the day of closing they brought up more. I was unable to speak to a loan officer. They practically avoided me, and I just wanted to make sure everything was getting done in a timely manner and it clearly was not. We still haven't closed yet but it is too late to turn back now. I am already planning to refinance with a respected company within the next year. I really hope nothing else goes wrong but I have little faith that will happen.

Overall good. Scott was always very responsive. First Mortgage says they support mortgage rate float down, but they rejected us three times when we asked to have our rate lowered when 30yr fixed mortgage rates experienced major drops a couple of times while we were getting our loan.

Kim is a superstar in First Mortgage , she helped us to get the right product for our needs. Closing was fast an efficient . I already referred to my brother and a friend ...yes that good and satisfied i am. Tks Kim

I was a little nervous about an internet mortgage, but Andrew and the team did a great job with communication and keeping the process moving. I saved a lot of money with their rates versus a local mortgage broker. No surprise fees.

Wells Fargo and Better both provided best mortgage experiences than First Mortgage. Our mortgage broker told us we could close in July, when rates were at an all time low, and instead we had to close in October. First Mortgage made no effort to rectify situation or help us financially after receiving a worse deal in October. Integrity is extremely important, and in this case there was none throughout deal.

Jim did a good job of explaining the process and helping me to answer all my questions. I had quite a few and he patiently worked with me to get all my questions answered and finish up the process as quickly as possible.

I have obtained or refinanced a mortgage numerous times over the past 35 years, and refinancing with First Mortgage Solutions was by far the easiest and most pleasant experience I've had. Tamara Gillespie explained the steps very clearly at the start, everything moved along efficiently, my questions were answered quickly and clearly, the fees were less than those offered by my previous mortgage holder, I was able to sign the closing papers at home -- and there were no mistakes or surprises in the closing statement! Tamara was recommended to me by several neighbors, and now I'm passing on the recommendation.

Mark and his team were extremely responsive and efficient with their communications. His rates were unbeatable, and I do shop for the best rate when it comes to a loan. They were very easy to work with and made the process super simple. The easiest I have had yet!

Back again, we were given the clear to close twice. We set up the appointment with the title company and signed all needed documents. Both times they retracted saying there is an issue with the documents. We were supposed to close last week and now it looks like we won’t close till next week. All these issues should have been addressed weeks ago when we turned in the information! April, Heather, and Darry have completely screwed up our loan process and have caused so much stress on me. They are extremely unprofessional. At this point I feel it would be easier to just back out of the purchase all together, which sucks because the house is perfect and the deal is extremely hard to find where I live.

He was very knowledgeable, kind, answered ALL my questions. And I always have A LOT! He even gave me great news and made my whole day when it came time to close. See we were going to be on vacation that same week he wanted to close. 😳 Basil then informed me, don’t worry about it our company will send a closing agent out to where ever you are. Digital capabilities are slick and made for the future of lending. Loan officers feel less personable but that's likely a product of the hands off approach that digital capabilities bring.

From the start of the process to the end, Brandon and Isabelle were an absolute pleasure to work with. The constant and timely communication was very helpful throughout the process. Isabelle communicated early on for the documents needed and kept us in the loop for updates. Brandon was available at any time for questions we had. The entire process was handled professionally and new home loan was approved well before the deadline. Fantastic experience-would highly recommend Brandon and Isabelle!

I worked with Brian Leonard. Brian was one of many lenders I approached for a refinance. His total offer, rate plus fees, was a clear winner and he and his team always answered my questions promptly. There was one instance where an appraisal did not happen at the time designated or for the fee originally discussed. But Brian made the extra effort to make it right in the end. I am very happy with my decision to do business with Brian and would recommend him to anyone seeking a mortgage.

Trevor and the rest of the team were awesome. I gave them a never-ending list of questions for my investment property and they took the time to answer them time and time again. I shopped around with probably 5/6/7 different lenders and came back to First Mortgage because of their rates and very friendly customer service. Others offered low rates as click bait, but never answered my questions and worse, kept asking me to fill out the same information again and again, proving I was just a number. First Mortgage is different. If you are trying to decide which lender to use, keep in mind that not only does First Mortgage offer incredible rates, they back that up with a great team to help take you from inquiry to close!

Mark & Matthew our lenders, did a great job! Can’t say enough about these two. From start to finish they made it happen. We got the Lowest interest rate with the highest dispersement. Always available and never had any worries with these guys. Very helpful with information and how to use technology today when we didn’t have access to a scanner. They know how to do it all. I wouldn’t want to use anyone else. Always friendly and helpful! If we ever need a lender in the future I wouldn’t use anyone else!

WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. THEY WILL DECEIVE YOU INTO THINKING YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD RATE AND THEN COMPLETELY SCAM YOU INTO ULTIMATELY PAYING MORE THAN ANY OTHER MORTGAGE COMPANY ONCE IT'S TOO LATE TO SWITCH. If I could give negative stars I would. My family lost $40k to this scam of a company. They started off super responsive and nice and kept saying everything is on track for closing. Then after 2 weeks I stopped receiving updates, got no responses to any of my emails and could not get a hold of anyone. I had to continue pestering them until I finally got a response where they said everything was on track for closing. THEN 2 days before closing they suddenly said that they could not close on time, lied to us about some missing tax documents that wouldn't come in on time and said we needed to change our loan type completely, pay $30k more for the down payment AND pay $15k in points in order to keep our rate that we had LOCKED IN. We had no other choice but to proceed in order to keep our house since the seller wasn't budging on moving the closing date. I ended up having to take out a loan from friends in order to pay for this loan, which was ridiculous. Then one day after closing, the lender called me back to "make amends" and said that they had ACTUALLY GOTTEN A WAIVER ON THE TAX TRANSCRIPT so we could've kept the original loan (??) but that the change to a different loan type (and decision to pay $40k more) was OUR DECISION? I've never seen something so infuriating in my life and I am so utterly regretful that I had picked this company for our mortgage. Not only were there countless nights of stress and insomnia due to this situation, we lost a lot of money that we were planning to spend on renovations and now I'm also have more debt I need to pay off from borrowing for the down payment. I've seen other reviews similar to mine about this company, so I'm almost positive most of their "positive" reviews are fake reviews that they bought off the internet. It's completely ridiculous.

My guy was responsive while I was searching. I had to redo my pre-approval letter a number of times for different properties (which is pretty normal). I ended up having a really tight deadline to put in an offer, and didn't have time to try to price match, so I went with a different lender. I didn't inform my guy at FMS, which is on me. But when my primary lender had a health emergency, I was in kind of a crisis and tried to come back to FMS. My lender basically told me, "you've been too much work for me, and you obviously weren't planning to tell me you went with someone else, so I don't want to work with you." I'm sure he's on commission, and I'm sure he's got better prospects with other customers. So it comes down to, I didn't treat him all that well after I went with another lender, and he refused my business. Again, he's not really in the wrong here. It's just bad for the customer.

I was a first time homebuyer. my lending agent John was without a doubt one of the best parts of my home buying experience. I had originally started with my local credit union, and even though I made that decision, John was still providing advice and guidance during my prequalifying. When the time came to put an offer in, and my slow, rude credit union could not give the sellers a # of days to close, John assured me that sub 30 days was very realistic for his company. I made the switch and never looked back. John's timeliness in working with my realtor to put together the best lending offer was key in us winning the bid on the home I wanted the most. His advice on appraisals, rate locking, escrow, and even home insurance helped me feel like an expert during closing when communicating with each group and making decisions. I plan to use FMD again in the future if/when the time comes to look at another mortgage product thanks to this experience.

This company is a huge joke! They provide you with constant horrible customer service. I was constantly bullied by my loan officer. My realtor was even mortified by his behavior. Then months after I thought I would never have to deal with them again they randomly run your credit - without consent. My loan is not even with them anymore!! Please save yourself the nightmare of this company. Go somewhere that cares.

Quintin with First Mortgage was AWESOME! He responded to all my and my real estate agent’s messages immediately and throughly. Any issues that came up were dealt with promptly and completely. I will recommend him to anyone I know, and certainly use him next time I need a house loan!

Brian Leonard from First Mortgage Direct was very helpful and guide us through every single step of the process. the communication with him was awesome via phone calls, text and emails. But the most important part is that he was able to make critical decisions that can affect our rate (like locking our rate, before the market went up, affecting the whole process).
