Terrible customer service and management. Stay away. I traveled (3.5 hours) to this branch from out of state to close my mother's account who died. I brought all necessary documentation with me. I was told that I needed to schedule an appointment and that the earliest time was several days after I would need to return home. After explaining that I traveled from out of town the rep discussed this with the manager. She came back and told me that the manager, who never came out to see me, would not do anything to help. She simply told me to call customer service while I was standing right there in their headquarters. They didn't seem to care in the least. Find another place to keep your money.

I barely do reviews, I don’t have time. However, I would use a whole vacation day just to warn others to avoid banking here. I’ve been a customer for over 20 years. The recent change in management is despicable. Customer service is non existent. As soon as humanly possible, I will be taking my business elsewhere. New customers should avoid banking here where and whenever possible. Given the state of our society, the last thing we need is large corporations/banking businesses playing with our income. Do better, First Harvest.

Used to be a great bank years ago. Now with the new name has come a whole bunch of problems. Not only are the hours terrible for people who work past 4pm, but they’re always messing up and god forbid you try to get ahold of anyone to figure out why it’s messed up this time. They never answer and you’re stuck on hold for hours with no help. Absolutely ridiculous for a place who handles peoples money when they have bills to pay and kids to feed but you can’t because you can’t access your account or anyone to help for some new ridiculous reason. Same day update: The debit card company has informed us the account says it’s ‘closed’ but it very much isn’t. We can still log in online and see the balance. Which is not in the negatives. Been on hold for about four hours now trying to speak to someone about the issue. No one has answered. We are going to another bank this weekend. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever seen.

Actual rating is ZERO STARS! Been a member a little over 6 months. Atrocious customer service. You will be on hold at least 20 min before someone picks up. They fee you to death. $1.50 for each ATM that is not affiliated with them, so if you go to Wawa, be prepared to pay $1.50 for each withdrawal. In a few cases, I got fees from ATM that were affiliated. The chip on my debit card stopped working. Requested new one. It's been 2 weeks and no card. And they told me that I have to pay $10 for a new card! Their website is junk. Looks like vintage late 1990s! I have opened an account with another bank and can't wait to get my money out of there. Big mistake going there. UPDATE: Jan 2022, I went to the credit union to close the account, and they told me I needed to make an appointment. I asked them, "How do you make an appointment when your branches are closed and you cannot get thru to your phones?" They let me in and closed my account. And BTW, remember the new debit card there were sending me to replace the bad one? Never got one. Was using my wife's for over a month, until the account was closed.

Make sure to log in every 6 months or they hit you with a charge to your savings account. I have a loan with them from when they were SJFC and everything is automatically done from my primary bank. Long story short I only log in once a year to print out tax papers, well this year I noticed my savings account was depleted so called and apparently there’s a non login fee, and continues monthly til you login to your account. Never received email, phone call, or a letter. Thank goodness I only had leftover cash from previous account in that savings because they only returned half my money and wasn’t a lot to put my time or effort into getting all my money back. There’s an agreement in my contract that I can’t pay loan off early but soon as that is up and the minimum years met I will be paying off loan and be done with them. If any local Teamsters 676 reading this suggest tell your shop to transfer banks.

Hold times are ridiculous. I used to love banking with SJFCU. Now I'm leaving. Carmen that answers the phone was condescending and I don't keep it. With the system reset, I couldn't get into online banking. Called 2x on hold for 42 mins first day and 1 hr second day. Carmen answered both days so I'd say she needs help with calls. She reset my password and I still couldn't get in so she recommended I go to the branch in person since "You have to be doing something wrong with the password." Nevertheless afterseveral attempts, I went to get it taken care of in person so I can unlock and get my money and close the account for good. My friend over heard the conversation and watched me attempt to login and get the same error. My friend said she was looking to switch since I loved the bank so much but after hearing the conversation with Carmen she said absolutely not and left so she didn't take the phone a address Carmen. It's bad when someone overhear a convo and get upset for you.

Having several bank accounts at different locations you learn what you like and don’t like. The only other bank I found worse then this place was TD. Their customer service is horrible, your mostly met by ignorance and lack of training. I can’t log into my accounts at all to view them. The closest bank to me is temporarily closed for what reason? Can’t even get to the bank in time to open an account.. and can’t online without going in to provide documentation.. I miss when it was SJFCU.. harvest first, please figure out what you are doing.. other wise we are leaving in the next two months..

I first banked when they were SJFU and since the change to First Harvest I am very dissatisfied with the excessive fees, poor customer service and absurd policies. Never thought I would feel a credit union was worse than a national bank. Stay away. I am closing my accounts and plan to find a different credit union to bank with. Goodbye for good!!!

If I could give this bank no stars, I would! This bank is the worst. I would suggest getting a bank account here for cheap interest rates for getting a car and that is it! I can tell you countless stories about how this bank is a failure. Do not do it, 0/5 Update 2# 6/21/2022 - First harvest made some changes to the online banking services and mobile app. There was no mass communications of this. During the memorial day weekend ( 3 days) I could not access my online nor mobile banking and I called to get my account reset and it was resolved only for me to be locked out AGAIN during the Juneteenth weekend (3 day weekend) as well. So once again, I need to call to get my account reset again. In addition, the mobile app does not show your accurate account balances. But the bank makes sure to charge fees when you overdraft.

They used to be good when they were South Jersey Credit Union. Now you can't get anyone on the phone. I've been on hold for an hour to straighten out an error on my account. And limited hours for in person issues.

Had issues with this bank. They change there their name to First Harvest Credit Union. Money was stolen out of my account in fraudulent purchases. A year later and I am still fighting to get reimbursed. Their own staff admitted to having fraudulent purchases on their own account. If they cannot protect themselves how can they protect their clients. Money stolen was from a pension loan. Had to hire an attorney who is still going back and forth with the office branch manager in Deptford. This bank still owes me $3000 from the $6000 stolen. They even denied knowing the charges in question. After they have had disputes forms and police report for months. I am so disgusted and will continue to speak out to warn everyone, especially my co-workers. With regards to response. I have contacted the branch on numerous occasions. Spoke with supervisors and the branch manager. There is a record with all of the disputes charges and a police report. I was only reimbursed half of what was stolen. I have gotten no where other than branch manager stating "what you think we were going to reimbursed all of it". Also hired an attorney. Yet staff did not know what charges were in question. By law banks are required to keep all records for 5 years. Have had a very bad experience with this bank. They were originally known as South Jersey Federal Credit Union. Accounts are not monitored for fraudulent purchases. Lost couple thousand with them. Their own employees experienced fraud. I will be advising my fellow co-workers to stay away. There are other banks that are much more professional and geared towards insuring accounts are monitored. Beware!

First of all there should be an option for 0 stars and even negative stars. They could be used in this post. This bank should be O stars at the absolute highest, but should be lower! The hours are horrible! 9 AM to 4PM Monday through Friday.....SERIOUSLY?!? 9AM-12 PM on Saturday with a 45 minute wait in each of the 3 drive through lines...ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!!! I work 8:30 to 4:30 Monday through Friday ~ you're closed when I leave for work and closed before I get out of work. How am I supposed to deposit cash if I can't get there due to your very poor hours?!? South Jersey Federal Credit Union had much better hours, it's a shame you took their place!! Guess customers aren't at all important to you. Absolutely disgusted!

This credit Union used to take care of its members. It was one the best in South Jersey. The new bank doesn’t care about its members and only wants to sell you products. Customer service is sadly gone and soon I will follow. RIP South Jersey Federal.

UPDATE #3 - Fraudulent charges were deposited back into my account. I'm appreciative that all money was recovered but the resolution process was unnecessarily frustrating. UPDATE #2 - The missing credit has finally been "found" and returned to my account. Still awaiting word on the four fraudulent charges going back to May 16th. I no longer have a card as not having a card seems to be the only way of keeping my account secure. Three cards (the original and two replacement cards) were compromised within ten days! UPDATE - STILL Extremely dissatisfied. Reached out per FHCU response below and have followed-up continuously via phone and email for over three weeks regarding fraudulent charges and a missing credit - in all totaling over $1100. No one returns calls, no resolutions, just one email letting me know they are diligently working on the issues. Apparently my missing money and account security issues are not high on the priority list. ----------------------- Have been a customer for over 15 years. Wait time to talk to a human is over 40 minutes every time I call. Impossible to speak to the same person regarding an ongoing issue. Have to wait 40 minutes and start from scratch every time. Will be changing banks as soon as the final issue has been resolved.

Been with them since 2017 & honestly I should’ve been left. Not enough banks, atm always down especially in Camden so I started going to deptford since it’s drive thru, that atm has been down also & the lines are always extremely long they should really take the pnc route with these atms this is ridiculous online banking never seems to work it’s a maintenance issue almost every week 🙄 & I used to wait until about 430p for my “early” deposit now it’s 630p which doesn’t make any sense at all. Customer service is terrible they never sound like their happy to be at work. Had an issue yesterday about a deposit that wasn’t sent to my account & they tell me it’s because my card is restricted, since when??? I could go on. Just don’t bank here

Update...Forget about calling David Storione like seen in many responses from First Harvest here. I called several times, left a detailed message and still no response. All this just adds evidence to any action you all want to take. I know what I'm going to do. Totally impossible to reach customer service.. I have been trying for 2 months. Kept my phone on speaker while I was on hold for hours..never answered. Tried sending a message via their website and all I get is "someone will contact you soon" robot message. I will be sending a Certified letter to them to use as evidence of my attempts when I hire a lawyer!

My mom started my account when I was a child and it was known as SJCU. Since the change I have had a horrible experience with their services. There’s a huge lack of communication from this credit union. I had my account set up to where money could not be taken out if I didn’t have enough money in it and they suddenly decided to not abide by that system I had set up with SJCU. Before the switch, I never had issues with this bank. Since the switch, I’ve been extremely dissatisfied and I am switching to another credit union or Chime

Horrible service. Been trying to call for several days and no one answers. How can they prevent you from accessing you account for 2 wks. by changing the account # ?? If I use atm to check balances I'll be charged a service fee. Also they're sending new aact. # by mail , that is not good idea it provides no security. Mail in my housing area gets delivered to neighbors quite frequently. I give them -0 stars.

This is by far the worst bank that I ever had! I had fraud on my account and I am still fighting with them to retrieve my funds. Then they charged me every time THEY move money over the cover the funds from the fraud purchases. This is ridiculous! No one answers the phone, i went into the branch. She said it would take ten business to fix. Nothing now I have to go back in sit at a branch for hours!!!
