Update: 16 months... Not in my home. I've made two children in the time it has taken him to build one 1500 SQFT home.... They dropped the ball with scheduling just about every vendor and now the cabinet maker is saying he won't have them built till January... I'm so distraught at this point. We've been living in two bedrooms at my parents house down the road because they said it would only take 7 months. Please don't use this guy.

Signed our contract March 2018. Ready for construction July 2018. Were told it takes 6 to 10 months to build - 14 months later we moved furniture in September 1, 2019 (the house still unfinished). Due to Duke Homes' tardiness we were forced to overpay storage fees. Biggest problems were 1) the lack of communication from the owner Hayne. John from office complicit in ignoring our calls. 2) Duke expected us to contact his subs when problems arose. Red mud stains on exterior light beige brick. Painter left careless permanent stains all over tile floors. At a tiny scratch, paint peeled leaving white on walls. Richard (Granite guy) left granite uncaulked. His countertop has oddly different lengths on either side of our stove. As to concrete job - severe cracks on garage floor appeared before we even moved in. Brad the trimmer quit without notice. We had to deal with multiple different lousy paint crews for paint - 5 months of no progress in between. WATCH OUT for Brian the cabinetmaker: very sloppy, didn't finish the job, totally denied our requests. Only framers and bricklayers were decent. This 14 months has been a nightmare. Do not pay the final draw while the house is incomplete! Run far far away from Duke Homes!

Look up "Dukes Homes yahoo reviews". We had a horrible experience. Took them seven months to build a 1900 sq ft house. House sat under construction for five weeks at one point without being touched. My roof was improperly installed and still has issues that haven't been resolved after extensive requests. I had issues with insulation, doors not opening/closing, flooring issues, holes knocked in finished walls, some places in the ceiling werent texture sprayed, final paint resulted in paint spilled on cabinets and spatter all over hardwood flooring, cabintes are made from alder wood that is very soft and dents and scratches easily, no drip edge installed on the exterior trim, house came with three different keys for 2 exterior doors (I had to have them re-keyed at my expense), Closet and pantry shelving is particle board and looks horrible, contractors tracked red mud on the front and back porches which stained my concrete red, no hay was spread around the base of the exterior bricks which resulted in red mud splashing up and staining my brick and they didnt communicate well with my lender. That caused issues at closing. You get what you pay for! Just my experience. You make your own decision :)

UPDATE: 14 months since signing our contract and we've only got half a house... Duke's homes isn't in the business of building homes. They're in the business of crushing hopes and dreams. I was 4 months pregnant with our first child when we talked to them and signed our contract in July 2020. We locked in our financing In September (it took the bank two months to finalize it) When we originally signed John told us it would be April/May before it would be finished. So we decided to stay with family close by because we could stick it out that long. It's now April, our son is about 4 months old and we don't even have a foundation yet. Month after month of excuses. We even brought it crushed concrete because they said the driveway was to wet for them to get a concrete truck in there to pour. When the property was finally dry to the bone and prime condition for pouring, their negligence missed a compaction test permit to move forward. We're about 10 months in with them and there is no light at the end of this tunnel.

It took 11 months for them to build our home. We were told 6-9. The plumbers did not place the pipes at exactly the right place in the concrete. They tried to heat the pipes with a torch to bend them. They burned through the pipes. We have pictures. The flooring company that you have to use with Dukes is beyond horrible. They are so rude and do not do good work. The painters made a mess. They painted all of our trim and 2 of our rooms the wrong color. Now our trim is goopy from being painted twice in a short period of times. They covered our tubs with plastic while they painted. Both bathroom doors got stuck to the plastic. They have lines all over the door. It was never fixed. I went through 4 people working on our trim. We loved the foundation crew, framers, and brick layers. They were pretty much the only positives. The worst part about the whole experience is not being allowed to talk to the builder. He will not return phone calls or emails. You are only allowed to talk to John who works in the office. The is very overworked and can't remember everything going on with each house. Each house has a folder. Information is not stored on a computer or any type of software. Hayne employs 2 people. John and Natasha. John is who customers deal with. Natasha deals with the money. He obviously needs more employees. We would not recommend Dukes Homes. We still have numerous items that have not been fixed. Please read the Yahoo reviews. It will pull up as robertsdale. It is still Hayne Dukes. Read the BBB reviews. Most customers have the same complaints. We have tried to leave a review on their FB. It will not allow us. I think they have to approve the review before it is made public.

Hayne was terrible to work with. You are only allowed to talk with the sales person named John. Hayne will not talk to his customers. The plumbers they use are a disgrace. We had pipes burned till they were black from them trying to bend them into place. The granite place they use is also not good. Our bathroom granite has about a one inch gap in between the pieces that was filled with caulk. Hayne hires sun flooring in daphne for all flooring. They treat their customers like dirt. Stay far away from this builder.
