The underwriters have no clue what they are doing. This was the longest transaction I have ever dealt with as an agent. If your buyers are using this bank I hope your seller is comfortable with waiting potentially over 2 months to close. This bank waited until the last minute of our closing to verify a transferred insurance policy- sellers provided this documentation weeks prior. Best of luck if you choose to work with this bank.

Very bad experience with them. After getting the pre-approval letter, I started loan process with them and sent whatever they asked for. We agreed on one month for the closing. Everything looked fine from their end until a couple days before the closing, they informed me that they can’t secure the loan without any legitimate reason. Just bunch of lies. I was at risk of loosing all the money i put down( options fee, earnest money, appraisal, and inspection). Luckily the previous owner agreed to give us an extension for the closing date. I was able to contact 3 other lenders who reviewed my loan application with Devon bank and they all told me the same feedback “those people don’t know what they are doing”. I was able to close the purchase within two week with another lender. I don’t recommend working with them at all.

Beware this bank, it is not a good bank to do a house mortgage. The bank employees have poor communication and when they do get back to you something has always changed from what was originally disclosed. We regret ever taking a mortgage out with them, a definite pass unless you enjoy dealing with frustrating situations!

I followed her to Devon Bank when I was seeking to refinance our mortgage and she welcomed me with the same kindness, generosity of her time, helpfulness and professionalism as before. I have been a customer of Devon Bank for over 25 years. My most recent positive experience with the bank was a mortgage refinance. I had started with a national megabank but became frustrated by its unresponsiveness and its demand to do things its way without adequate explanation. I visited Devon, met with Jay Rottman, and started over. Ultimately, I got a better rate, a smooth process, and most of all thorough communication that kept me apprised of every step. Most of all Jay Rottman and his colleagues kept the process moving forward through to closing yesterday. I couldn't be more pleased. Many thanks to Jay Rottman and to Devon Bank.

Do not use this bank for mortgage or islamic financing. I was searching for a lower interest rate and came across this lender Devon Bank on google search. Reading other reviews i gave them a try. In the beginning everything sounded good. I had nearly 60 days before i move in to my home. I started the process submitted all the paperwork. Followed up weekly. And yet they couldn't close within 60 days. I had to pay late penalties to move bcus it took nearly 70 days of trouble trying to get a loan approved thru them. One of my friend lost his home because he wanted to close in 20days and use this lender. Little did he know they take 70-90 days to close. Unheard of. Unprofessional. No communications skills. Just a bad mortgage experience overall. My other friend lost a bid because the lender did not respond in time. Stay away.
