When we moved to Florida full time 5 years ago, we needed an accountant who could not only handle our personal taxes but also the accounting needs of a business entity we maintained after retiring. Our financial advisor recommended John Davis and we could not be more pleased with the service he's provided over the years. As our needs have changed, he continues to take the time to fully understand our situation and provide us with the best service and accounting consultation. Beyond accounting services, we can count on John to steer us in the right direction for other needs as well. Recently, he helped us navigate some changes in our medical insurance which ended up saving us a great deal of money. We like John and his company so much, we have referred him to many friends and have even started using him for my aging parents as we've taken over the handling of their finances. John handles everything in a very timely fashion; is always responsive to our questions and concerns; has the breadth and depth of detailed knowledge to handle any tax situation we've encountered; communicates efficiently with other professionals in our circle (legal, financial planning, etc...), and is just a really nice guy! After working with John Davis for many years for both my business and personal taxes, I'm shocked at the poor customer service he provided during my recent request for copies of my K1 from 2019 and 2018. I had to send multiple emails to check the status of my request. I gladly paid the $150 for an hour of his time as the documents were holding me back from purchasing a new home. When I finally received the copies, my SSN was redacted which is useless, and received the K 1 for only one of my businesses. When I requested they not be redacted and that he provide the K1 for my other business, he responded by saying that he sent what was agreed to and that I would need to pay another $150. The money has never been an issue until the service and value for the money are not worth it. My initial request was sent on May 7th and as of June 21st, I still have not received what I need.
