D'Angelos Pawners & Jewelers S Stony Is Ave, Chicago

So here’s my experience in detail . I initially went here because of the 5star reviews and with them being family and black owned . I believe in supporting Hue businesses . Mind you i’ve been living in ATL for 10 years. I came to this location friday june 24th at 4:45 pm they were closed although hours online says 5:30 there door says ‘hours may vary ‘ i said no problem as i needed to pawn valuables due to overdrawing my account and not being able to get to work . I walked to them again monday june 27th from hyde park . Upon entering they were having a conversation with two chicago police officers . young lady asked how can we help you today. before i could say anything she asked if i had electronics i said a couple but the silver suesse bar was what i handed her . she said electronics would have to be checked by the African man who was just staring at me. Mind you i paid no mind as i get stares a lot. Continuing to talk to the officers and the other Queen behind the counter ; She slides my bar to me and says no we won’t take it . Pure silver suesse bar with numbers . I proceeded to greet the man whom seemed uncomfortable to look at me in my eyes . First i show a midi controller synthesizer loop recording beat maker called orba that fits in palm of your hand . He don’t even touch it and says no abruptly I showed my smart wireless apple mouse and smart wireless keyboard he said no while continuing to stare out the window . No eye contact and no sense of acknowledgment . I then said ‘so not even a mac book air ‘ he said ‘no oh i mean what year is it ?’ I said a 2018 he said nope it has to be 2020 or newer. What’s interesting is the 4 electronics i came to pawn were more up to date than their current selections of electronics . They treated me like some wyte junkie or crackhead . I would never tell anyone to go there . I love trying to support small businesses but not to the detriment of allowing myself to be mistreated and cast off . This has discouraged me from going to any black owned pawn shop. Pebblewood pawn in naperville had no problem taking my things at fair value . I’m driving there now. I felt misjudged discriminated and reminded me why i moved to Atl in the first place . I’m making sure all my family here never frequent this establishment again .

Had a great experience at D'Angelos and I'll definitely be coming back to do more business in the future. Ask for Angel when you go- she was not just nice on the eyes but very knowledgeable about everything that I had questions about and gave me a very fair deal on a piece, especially compared to other places that I visited this week. Highly recommend!!

I've been going to D'Angelos Pawners and Jewelers for quite some time now mostly for buying jewelry and pawning at times which I would recommend if you purchase your jewelry there and if you ever need to pawn you would get the most money than taking it somewhere else the prices are great and fair and the staff is even better! I've had a great experience each and ever time I'm there keep up the good work !!!

My experience with D’Angelo’s pawn shop has been nothing but professional and outstanding. While dealing with Angel The service was top notch. She is very knowledgeable on what she is selling but most of all honest. I will continue to use their services and make sure that I refer everyone to this shop. Honest service is hard to come by, she makes sure she is selling it to your liking and what you are looking for. Her suggestions and comparison are very detailed and the quality is outstanding.

I went to D.Angelo’s Pawnshop on 69th I had a Apple Mac book pro, I visited this store & spoke with Angel and she was very nice and very kind. She explain everything to me and gave me what I asked For & made me feel comfortable. I will be visiting again :) totally recommended her best sales rep in the store .

Omg this place is absolutely amazing. They give amazing deals and have some of the nices things you can find. The atmosphere was very nice and the customer service was extrodanary. I came here to just actually pawn something but ended up buying a beautiful piece of jewelry. I will definitely be back.

I was really in a tight spot need some quick cash. I went to few pawn shops a lot of them either didn't want to help me or low ball me. I came here and Angel really helped me out. I got the money I need to get my car fixed and I was only in there 20 mins
