Yesterday Cycle World and Marty sold me my first brand new bike, a 2021 Kawasaki Vaquero. Marty made sure I left that shop happy with my purchase. I already kept my previous bike serviced by them. I visited cycle world to get a look at a Kawasaki ninja 400 abs they had in stock so I could see how I liked the body style. Although the height and weight were perfect, I don’t like leaning over so far on the sport bikes. Marty recommended a couple of other options based on my likes and dislikes. Marty also was not allowing me to be quickly dismissive. He encouraged me to actually stand the bike up and not just sit on the bike while on the kick stand. He was very thorough, educational and he was extremely helpful. He told me to get on the bike from the left. He did not have to give me any advice, he chose to do that. He is a genuine and nice guy. I felt way more confident after talking with him.

I called about bringing an older bike engine in that needed a straightforward servicing. The tech I spoke to snarkily told me "That's not something we'd be interested in and not worth our time." So basically Cycle World didn't think my business or me as a customer was worth their time. I took offense to that since I was not asking them to do this servicing in their spare time or for a discounted price. Also you'd think a service tech that has "over 40 years of experience with Hondas" would enjoy seeing an old bike engine from the mid 80s as a bit of nostalgia, but I guess not. Either way I'll just go somewhere else.

Great selection back in the gear/parts department. I was undecided on a helmet, they talked through the different options, pros and cons, and ultimately helped me make the right decision. I have been riding for years but there are many options/designs on hand and they were able to set me up with the proper lid for my bike and riding style. Also got sized for a jacket and got a Bluetooth set up for the wife and I. We left with everything set up and ready to ride. Competitive pricing and a military discount to boot! I will be back in the future.

Had a 2009 rmz in several times was going to let this service center repair the whole bike to 100% but when they called me stating 4000 to rebuild plus taxes and they needed deposit. I’d was blown away knowing I researched the part cost and was know where near then I finished full rebuild of top end. “Months later”. Needless to say my assessment was 250$ after completion of rebuild I brought it back in for valve adjustment and was charged 126.some change. Called ask why it wasn’t back together and heat cycles after asking them to get bike started. They said they set valves but in fact when I got it I called the tech in lead of vale shimm and start up. He stated “ your bike is adjust was a success exhaust cams .03 valve 10.something. This started in may it’s now September. And I’m out a new shop fee to laugh and say no one adjusted the vale’s cams and not only that I’m missing fairing bolts and everything under the son they not only took advantage of me cause I lived out of county. Anyway bikes now after a 900$ shop fee with springs they installed re installed and new fairing kit gasket for vale cover. So let’s say a 100$ job cost me 1000 never again. Get you new certified techs with less home problems so they come to work ready to meet expectations. Wouldn’t recommend this outfit if it offered lifetime maintenance “especially towards service.

I bought a new bike a couple months ago. The dealership fees were kind of ridiculous but I couldn't find the bike anywhere else so I didn't have much choice. I was there for FIVE HOURS. I would have left and bought the bike somewhere else if I hadn't already signed all the paperwork. When they started it up the check engine light was flashing. Took them a couple hours to even figure out what (they thought) was wrong. They said that it wasnt a fault code, there was some software Kawasaki wanted downloaded onto their new bikes and it was taking forever to download. At the time I thought "Ok not their fault really" but they really should check their bikes before trying to sell them. Finally after 5 hours I told them to just give me my bike and I'll worry about that software at my first service. More issues surface later on. At the shop they tried to tell me I HAVE to have $500 or less deductibles, after arguing I just said no I'm doing $1000 to keep my monthly down and they relented saying the leinholder will get in contact with me when they get the insurance info. Turns out, the leinholder never even received my insurance info from Cycle World, I had to upload it myself later AND they were ok with $1000 deductibles. I took my bike in to a different shop for my 600 mile service and I told them about the check engine light and what cycle world said it means. When I got my bike back the mechanic said "I don't know what the guys you bought this from were trying to do but the light was on because it was STILL IN TRANSPORT MODE." I also talked to them about their models and their out the door prices had been $1000 less than Cycle World.
Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the increased fees that the manufacturers have placed on us due to the supply chain problems they are facing. All of the factories have raised their freight costs significantly. As for your long wait, I again apologize, Kawasaki has implemented a new process on several models including yours that require the bike to be hooked up to a computer while connected to Kawasaki so they can upload data and registration info about the unit. This process is very new and full of bugs that caused your delay and many others. We used Langley Federal Credit Union to finance your bike. Their deductible requirements are no more than $500. I am happy for you that you got away with a higher deductible that reduced your insurance costs. Enjoy your new KLR650!

If I could give ten stars I would, between the sales team to service i highly recommend all their services. A few months back on June 18th I finalized the purchase of my Honda CRF250L at cycleworld with Marty from sales and he made me feel comfortable with the buying process as this is my first bike. The sales manager was very understanding and helped with the deal and the receiving of my new honda as well. Marty also helped my connect with an insurance agent who got me set up with a great rate finance really did a great job explaining all the service and packages I could add on to the bike when we finalized everything. The service team today as of posting my review helped me understand what I was doing wrong with bike as I am very much green with getting on 2 wheels for the first time in a while and did a great job with service and understanding my issue, which turned out to be the loose nut behind the bars figuratively speaking. I had a really positive experience with these guys. Went in with no expectations, and walked out with a bike that fit my needs perfectly. Both Joey and Will were easy going and helpful, I never felt pressured to buy. They got me financed even with credit issues. DJ in gear/parts department helped me pick out some great affordable gear, and I rode away in less than 3 hours. Highly recommend to anyone new to riding if you need an affordable bike, they got a killer selection.

I recently dropped off my akrapovic exhaust at Cycle World for a next day install. Everyone I spoke with was respectful and treated me like my business was important. The next day I brought my bike to the shop and they had my exhaust installed in no time. I will continue to come back to Cycle Word for alllll my motorcycle needs. Great place!!!

Back in November of 2020 I got my carburetors rebuilt by cycle world. It is May of 2021 and the 3rd carburetor is now pouring gas out onto the cylinder. Cycle world stated to me they do not guarantee workmanship for greater than 30 days. I would think the fact that I could have burnt to a crisp because of this they would be more interested in correcting the issue. Cycle World responded assuming I put my bike up for the winter. I ride all year long. Prior to the gas leak I had just completed a hundred mile ride. It was the poor workmanship of their carb rebuild that caused the leak.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately, carburated bikes pose a constant problem with the ethanol biodegrading rapidly and clogging jets and floats. We cant warrant a naturally occurring problem. You will have many more carb jobs in the future unless you turn the fuel off, drain the carb bowl, and spray carb cleaner in the bowl every time you finish riding. That does not protect the ethanol fuel in the tank which as it decomposes will need to be replaced with fresh fuel periodically when the bike sits unridden for more that a few weeks at a time. If you grow weary of caring for a carburated bike, we would be happy to trade your bike in for a fuel injected model that is immune to that problem.

Came in looking for a beginner type bike. Jay helped me out through the whole thing. Showed me a few and explained the difference with each in the way they handle. Was very patient with me as I sat on them and found a great fit. They even delivered to to my house 45 mins away! Great service! Great team!

Sales guys can't beat prices will lie and say that the price can't be dropped due to no rebates, but meanwhile shopping around elsewhere found same bike 2500 less. Also bought a new jacket, but brought it back soon after because zipper broke after first use, they wouldn't give me another one and then parts manager lied to make me feel more comfortable with the situation saying it would only be a few days there and back then said he never said this?! Absolutely do not care for the customer.

I am a new inexperienced rider that was looking for a motorcycle in the Hampton roads area. I visited Cycle World to get a better look at the bike I have been drooling over for a few years now. After arriving I was greeted and asked what I was looking for no biggie. After that salesmen became very pushy trying to sell me a bike to the point of unprofessional almost. I continued to listen and see what he had to say. He wanted to sell me the bike at MSRP price and told me that these bikes were so hot and there was no way he could come down in the price. After I left I found Valley Cycle Center in Winchester, VA. They had the same bike $2,000 dollars cheaper without even haggling. They also told me about a 750 dollar rebate from (in my case) Yamaha that the previous salesmen forgot to mention. Now I am from a small town so I buy local if at all possible. So I called the salesmen back and told him what I had found and asked if he would be willing to cut the price at all. He continued to tell me that I should buy that bike right now but also warned it was probably a fake and a trick. I drove up to Winchester, VA bought my motorcycle for the agreed price that was $2,000 cheaper and received some of the best customer service I have ever had in the auto industry. You can the make the decision for yourself...

An awesome dealer, all people helpful and very friendly, Technician awesome you know who you are... bike worked excellent after Stator replaced. I was able to catch up to the group for lunch in Kitty Hawk, so all was fine. They were amazed to see me....thanks to your excellent dealership. Also we Canadians appreciate that dealership knew I was with a group and went over and above to get parts delivered overnight. I was doing my own work because the service dept at sunrise was so condescending and rude. I really wanted a professional eye on it to make sure everything was good and safe so I decided to try Cycle World. the difference was night and day. When I called to set something up Jeff was more than happy to accommodate my bike and even helped me drop off right after they closed. I worked mostly with Bob after that and he was very professional and friendly, eager to answer all my dumb questions being fairly new to riding and was helpful and nonjudgmental. I ended up adding on a usb charger install to my service, and when i picked up after hours i wasnt 100% happy with the wire tucking so I gave Bob a call and was met with a pleasant tone and 100% willingness to adjust it for me. This is some quality service and I will keep returning here for my service needs and would recommend to everyone! *Edit* while sales and parts are super awesome and helpful, BEWARE of this service department. I ask them for updates and they beat around the bush, they wont tell me what they did to my bike for the service etc. I had them install a usb charger on the bike as well, well I have brought it back twice already and they said the head shorted out and replaced it. This has now happened a third time and i no longer live in va beach i have since moved to Windsor and all the service manager told me was bring it back for them to replace it again, but every time they replace it, it works for one day and then stops again and living an hour away i cant just keep bringing the bike back every day off of work that i have and he was very unwilling to work with me about possibly switching to another brand or something that will work better. I am really disappointed, it shouldn't be this hard to find a good bike shop to spend my money at.

Ok- A couple things. I came in today with no notice and in a bind with my only means of travel right now needing an inspection and service. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to the service counter and service department for helping me out! I really wish I remembered names, but my bike runs much better and there was little to no wait. Although the service counter rep could have just called me, he came by the waiting area and personally let me know service was complete. I ride a motorcycle daily, but don’t know Jack about servicing them and really appreciate you all and the piece of mind I have driving away that she is all back up to specs and ready for another 4k miles. *** If your looking for zero hassle buying and great service stop looking***

What an amazing experience! Very polite staff, Ron and Joey are very passionate about making the customer happy and very knowledgeable about the bikes they are selling. They were more concerned that I was happy rather than making a sale. They just want to see happy riders. The on site shop had all the answers, and if they didn't have a piece of gear they were happy to order it. I took a bike in with sentimental value to be repaired and although the bike was beyond that point, Bob in the repair shop made sure I was aware of everything and also made sure I was happy with the decisions. Ron literally worked from home to make sure I knew what was going on the entire time. I could not say enough nice things about this establishment. I had used another Motorcycle Repair shop in Norfolk to service my Yamaha and it was returned with more problems than when I dropped it off. I took it to Cycle World and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Especially Bob. He was awesome. My bike runs better than it ever has. It's like riding a new bike. I haven’t been back to Cycle World since they don’t take responsibility for their staff’ actions. The first incident was when I left my VStar 1100 there for a front tire replacement. When I got the bike back there were two tire iron depressions on my chrome spokes wheels. The employee wouldn’t admit to this damage and management blew it off. I sucked it up and went on my way. The second incident was when I left my bike for a rear tire. they let the bike fall over and scratched the gas tank, chrome grips and chrome pipes. I was furious. This time I got a free windshield out of the deal but I will never go back. Sunrise Cycle is a much better group.

Thoroughly useless customer services. The best service I got in my entire experience with them was the guy who delivered my bike up to Yorktown for me. I waited in the showroom for almost 20min when I went to buy the bike because at least 3 people told me my sales rep was "on his way" and never informed him I was there. Then, they misidentify the model year of the bike I'm buying and I have to tell them about the MSRP difference. Finally, they fail to call me when my plates are ready. Despite them being able to get through to me just fine when arranging the sale and delivery, their admin didn't bother to try again to get ahold of me. I specifically requested that they mail me my plates when I purchased the bike and they didn't tell their admin staff about that. All in all, its a dysfunctional organization where it's left hand is actively spiting its right with you, the customer, caught in the middle.

I live in Elizabeth City and wanted to have routine maintenance done on my bike and also wanted to have a mechanic look at my bike to see why it was beginning to bog down when I hit the throttle. I called the 2 local motorcycle repair places here in Elizabeth City and was told they were at lease 4 weeks behind and they didn't know when they would get to my bike since my bike was not the manufacturer of the motorcycles they sold. I called Cycle World and was told first come first served so I drove the 1 hour to Cycle World and dropped off my bike. Cycle World called me 2 hours later and told me my bike was ready. I'm pleased with Cycle World service department and now I will drive the hour to Cycle World knowing that my bike will be done quickly and right. (Friendly folks, they even helped me unload and load my bike).

I truly like this place. The people were friendly and all was good. So why 1 star... . Well, I took my bike there after I had a deer hitting me. All looked good and they took care of the repair... at least what I thought. Close to $7k in repairs paid by my insurance and I came to pick up my bike. Then things went south... . First I noticed a broken part that was not taken care off. Still all good... I was told they take care of it. So, I ride the bike back home and it pulls like crazy to the right. So I look at it... I was loosing it. One visible part inside the fairing was missing. The parts did not line up and were improper installed. I look closer and see that a repaired radiator does not line up either, I look further and find that nothing is properly aligned. So, I called my insurance and was told to get the bike to a shop of my choice to get it looked at. Here we go... bike is now a total loss. Fork damage and other significant damages have been ignored. The bike did not ride right. Parts were not put together correct. Parts were just not put back at all. I have pictures and the insurance report to proof it - I have pictures to proof it. This is why I will NEVER put a foot into this store. I do not trust the the quality, repair, or service at all after that experience. Sorry guys, I liked the shop, people were great; but, this is how you scared me away.

I've been asking this dealership to cancel my warranty they talked me into getting for over a year. Every time I ask they say ok they'll take care of it and they never do. This dealership wants your money and then will show you the door.

I went in to get parts for my Yamaha and these guys are the best in the Hampton Roads area for customer service and knowledge of motorcycles...I'm a fairly new street rider and they really explained what would be best for my situation and riding. Parts were readily available on hand and a great selection of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki parts and service!

Don’t have these people work on your 4 wheelers paid these people $1400.00 which supposedly I paid for two 4 wheeler carbs to be rebuilt. And I get them home filled up with fuel 2 days later I go to get on one all the fuel had dumped on the floor from both 4 wheelers that They rebuilt all the years I’ve had these machines never had that happen so the genius that works there told me I had to cut off the fuel supply everytime I park it and that won’t happen but anybody that knows anything about carburetors know that the float in the carburetor Is what allows the fuel to flow to the carburetor So I’m telling them they need to fix there work and they feel like they did the carburetors correctly that’s why the fuel keeps leaking out So I still have the problem just a side note one of the previous mechanics there actually drilled through my gas tank and they did a patch job on it but it’s funny how it’s not in there notes been taking my stuff there for 16 years even bought it from there store won’t buy anything over there again. Save yourself some grief no matter what they work on when you take it home you must have done something to it cause they don’t want to be bothered to take care of there customers Hope your ship sinks I will spread the word

The staff are knowledgeable, do great work, and make sure you're satisfied all in a fast manner. Colby and A.J. both went above and beyond to make sure I'd be happy. Went there yesterday to get a helmet and the 2 guys behind the counter were absolutely no help I was completely disappointed and I went there knowing i was going to buy a helmet and left there glad they did not have the first helmet option in stock and didn't even ask about the second helmet because of the lack of customer service. Hopefully they hire people that like their job instead of those guys clock watching hating they have to work. Btw this is my first bad experience normally a great place.

My trip to cycle world was amazing. The staff there is very friendly and very easy to work with. There selection of bikes both new and used is amazing as well. Ron in the sales department helped me work out everything so that I could get a new bike. He spent a great deal of time making sure that I was squared away and ready to ride. Wouldn’t go anywhere else, always is my go to shop. When I first got into motorcycles I asked ALOT of people who I knew to ride motorcycles where they went to for service. Most people always say cycle world, I can personally say that I’ve spent a lot of money & time there so take it from me. They can be a little pricey with working with older models but trust me...well worth it. Take the word from a local, this shop is the best in the beach when it comes to moto.
