Having grown up in Hickory Hills and then living in Palos Hills for many years, I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve passed Crown Mortgage on 95th Street. I’m very glad I remembered them though when the time came to get pre-approval for a mortgage and then an actual mortgage from them. Prior to starting our real estate search, which ultimately led to having a house built in Indiana (2021), my wife and I knew we would need a pre-approval letter to be taken as serious buyers. I went to Crown Mortgage’s website and read about them; in business for a long time with much of their business coming from referrals - a good start and that says a lot about them. Upon reaching out to Crown Mortgage, my inquiry was answered by Jeff McGrath. Jeff’s customer service was excellent. He answered my initial email the same day I sent it and we scheduled a phone conversation for a day or two later. A short conversation was all that was needed to get the pre-approval process going. Jeff provided a secure site to upload all sensitive documents required for pre-approval. He answered questions promptly as I had them. He also acted as my central point of contact when the time came to obtain the actual mortgage for my house and other Crown Mortgage team members were involved (they all did a great job too). I can honestly say that dealing with Crown Mortgage was the least stressful part of our build process. They are very professional and know what they’re doing. One thing I learned from Jeff about Crown Mortgage is that Crown Mortgage not only underwrites loans but also services them. They aren’t like many lenders where you obtain a loan and then your loan is resold to a different lender. My wife and I are glad to support local businesses and its nice that Crown Mortgage keeps that relationship for the life of the loan. I highly recommend Crown Mortgage for your mortgage needs. I've been a customer with Crown Mortgage for about 10 years, and they are fantastic. I've worked with Dan Conwell on 3 different mortgages from purchasing my first home, to refinancing, and then purchasing my second home.
