Cross Creek by Meritage Homes Golden Plains Pkwy, Hutto

My review of a Meritage home I purchased in Verona: The sales guys are friendly and will say whatever is needed to get you into a house but as soon as you close you don't exist to the company. From the get go, we were behind schedule by a month due to our project manager deciding he didn't want to work for Meritage anymore. Once we got our new project manager he managed to catch back up quite a bit, until the week of closing we get a call "Hey, we forgot to hook up electricity, you can't close this week". Should have backed out then. We finally closed in April. July rolls around, AC won't get the house below 78 degrees. This is a foam insulated house. "It's so efficient we HAVE to port air in from outside or you'll get sick". First time they came out said coolant was low and put a little more in. Second time they came out and checked a bunch of stuff and said it's fine. Third time the company came out with a manager and he literally said "This is the best this will ever do. But we can sell you a new one!". Brand new system? Foam insulated house? How's this going to perform in 5-10 years? Then various workmanship issues, disposal coming apart due to bent flange, garage door stopped working cause the screws fell out of it. Their favorite thing to do is never close out your warranty claims (Only allowed to have 1 open at a time) so when you do need to submit one you're at the mercy of Adam Koloroutis who never closes them out until you finally manage to get a hold of him. We've had our current claim open since April of this year (Our 1 year warranty end). Work still isn't complete on it, we're closing out August now. Can't get a hold of Adam. And my AC is back to not getting below 78 but I can't submit a claim until the old one is closed. (I get that it's 100+ degrees out, but I would expect you put in a unit that can get this "efficient house" to a tolerable level. It runs all day long and never stops until night time. Unit is on the north side of the house, shaded a majority of the day. Needless to say, I'll never buy another Meritage home again.

My company set up the sales offices for Meritage Homes models and everytime we go to one of these Model homes we see new ideas on the design of these homes. They strive to build one of the best homes on the market and they do. If Meritage were to ever build custom homes on private land, we would use Meritage Homes!!.

Great looking homes with nice floor plans but horrible decision just to offer laminate wood flooring.

First time home buyer. They were a great help every step of the way.

I never went there in person but I have to tell you that they are the only people who kept in touch with me about new lot openings and gave updates on when there is one available in these crazy times. Mireya was the sales agent I was working with. Unlike a lot of agents in other communities, she was prompt in giving updates and kept in touch and even facetimed and showed us the model home since we live in Michigan and could not visit there. Her service was above and beyond and we ended up booking a home there and very excited to move in soon! Kudos to the Meritage team for finding such capable agents.

I wish I could give 10 stars! I went in about to give up looking for a Home until next year. I arrived late knowing it would Probably be closed and was pleasantly surprised to see someone still in. I was greeted by Brandy and even though it was closing she jumped into gear and with no hesitation showed me the home I wanted to see. She did not rush me and I told her I would be back a a day later to show my husband. When we arrived she was ready to go and even prepared with numbers for my hubby who is huge in seeing breakdowns. After an hour of looking and talking at the house and the lot we were ready to pull the trigger. Even when we had structural and lender type questions she did not hesitate to jump on the phone and get our questions answered. I can’t thank her enough for her patience with us. I highly recommend working with Brandy!

Lied to us and continue to falsely advertise a kids splash pad but instead gave us a concrete slab and told us that’s all we get. DO NOT BUY A HOME HERE!
