As a first time buyer I had no idea what the process would be or how to do all the on line paperwork but Sonya was extremly patient and walked me throught each step. She and her team answered every question in a way that I could understand, and believe me I had a lot of them. I highly recomend cornerstone to anyone looking to finance or refinance. I will never be able to find the words to express my gratitude towards Sonya and the entire team at Cornerstone. From the beginning we have been treated like family, have been updated consistently, and always had our questions answered no matter what time of day. I am so blessed that my family found cornerstone and would encourage any and everyone looking to purchase a home, to go through them for lending. Sonya and her team are heaven sent.

I was hoping that I could say more good about this company but I can't. I get that my credit isn't perfect but I also know that I prefer someone to be 100% straight with me from the beginning. At first, seemed like they couldn't help me because your credit score has to be at least 620 for them to do anything for you. They will help you get your credit score where it needs to be, but in my unique situation, I have a time frame this has to be done in. I told them that from the beginning. I was told they couldn't help at first and was planning to look elsewhere and got an email saying that if I paid my two credit card balance down to $100 each, that my credit would be where they needed it to help me. So I was like awesome! I don't have to go somewhere else and keep talking hits on points for my credit trying to buy this house. So I paid my balances down to $30 for one and $60 for the other. More than what they had said. A month later they pull my credit again since that had went through and somehow according to them I'm not at the 620 they said I would be. I'm at 612. She said they can't do anything. Had she just told me to begin with that it was a possibility that my credit would not be where they needed it, I could have went ahead with someone that will help me get in my house. So then I was left with very little time to get a mortgage and get the paperwork done. I was not thrilled to say the least. I did go elsewhere. And within less than 24 hours I had two pre approval!! The guy working with me has been heaven sent and has worked morning to night getting this done for me. I wish I had known that you have a 14 day period to shop around for rates and it doesn't take but one hit in points to your credit during that amount of time! I had no idea. I thought it would hurt me worse to keep looking and now I know it won't, a tip for anyone searching. Go to mortgage solutions and save yourself a headache. Their closing costs are way better as well. Just a bit of advice. If you are in a hurry and your credit isn't perfect then find another route. Be aware!
