CommStar Credit Union Cleveland St, Elyria

CommStar Credit Union is a great place to work with. I have done several different types loans with them on a personal level and a business level. I have and will always send any referrals I can over to them. They have top notch Loan Officers that go above and beyond for their customers, guiding them every step of the way through the closing process. They offer superior customer service and great rates, overall, it has been a pleasure to work with CommStar Credit Union and their staff.

Customer service is very inefficient. When trying to obtain payoff or any information on a loan, none of the three offices pick up or call back within 24 hours. Not being able to pay certain loans and make payments online is also frustrating considering we are in the year 2022.

Commstar credit union in my eyes is one of the better banks around ,there not a big branch but they sure do help out and make sure there customers are well taken care of … thanks again for the help of Tara Rodriguez what a wonderful job on your end keep up the good work

As a business leader, I know the challenges of staffing. To the dedicated staff that shows up every day, keep up the great work. I am SO GLAD we decided to work with CommStar on our mortgage. Mark Patterson was diligent, easy to work with, and did everything he could to make the process go quickly and seamlessly. No complaints whatsoever — the entire process went perfectly and we would both work with them again and refer others to them in a heartbeat!

I can't imagine how they do business. I have called all week, left no less than 6 messages and still have not received a return call. Their virtual assistant phone system is tough to navigate. Maybe they don't want new business. I am taking this as an indication that if it is this difficult to inquire about joining them, then doing business there would be the same. Very disappointing.

Very difficult to work with. Extremely antiquated online banking; website is not easy to use. Limited hours. Signing up for auto pay is a nightmare. Customer service doesn’t even exist so you do all the work. We have decided to pay off a loan extremely early just so we don’t have to work with this bank anymore.

They have good rates but the loan process at CommStar was horrible. Had to keep calling back because they didn’t follow up with my loan application and when I finally came to sign, they weren’t even ready. They didn’t even let me see any documents because they were “electronic”. I signed on a signature pad blindly. Which was my fault for not asking more questions. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to send me to an office to discuss my loan. I did everything standing up at the teller line. I left with nothing. I had to call back to at least ask them for a copy of my contract for my records. Worst loan experience ever!

Exceptional service and outstanding communication on all parties. Will continue to use CommStar as much as I can. Thanks for everything!
