I'm very happy with the experience we had working with Commonfund. Theresa has been an amazing consultant and available any time we've needed her. We could reach her any time and any day via text, and if she wasn't working she would have someone on her team support so that we'd get info we needed right away. During house hunting in this crazy market, that speed and attention to detail was a game changer. Their user portal was easy to use, and submitting and signing all materials was simple and straightforward. Overall an amazing experience with a team of kind, caring, efficient professionals.

Moved from PA to NY to be closer to family and take on a new opportunity. Commonfund Mortgage provide us care and updated communication. They were responsive and provide us contacts to help move the process along. While this was a stressful process moving between states and around the holiday, we knew we could count on Commonfund to help us through the process. Very enjoyable experience and excellent professionals.

Initially we were excited to work with common fund. They turned around our pre-qualification quickly. But when it came time to lock things in, we were hit with additional fees, an insane interest rate, and worst of all when we decided to switch (rightfully so) they refused the transfer the appraisal that we paid for and own. This company has gone down hill fast. I question their ethics and if they're really out to get you into the best mortgage possible. Choose wisely, do not recommend.

Derrick was the most patient, understanding, educating, and informative mortgage consultant and I HIGHLY recommend. He never kept me in the dark and always was prompt in answering any questions that I had. If he didn't know he made sure he found out. I probably drove him nuts sometimes but he was very patient. Derrick also went above and beyond to make sure I was able to purchase the house I grew up in. Absolutely horrible experience working with the Rome NY office! Be careful using them. They gave very misleading information. Started out a conversation with an excellent interest rate however, not guaranteed until you make application. Provided them with the documentation within 3 days. Then placed numerous calls and Did not get a return call until 2 more days had passed. Then mysteriously the rate went up almost a point but I was offered the option to buy points AND the most expensive cost to buy points gave me a rate that other banks were offering for no points. So lack of follow up lead to 6 days of lost time, a hike in the rate and only then the mention of buying points. It felt very fraudulent!!!... beware!

This is my second mortgage with Commonfund. Commonfund did an excellent job with my refinancing; the whole process took a month.  My loan officer (Theresa Salvador) was extremely responsive and helpful, providing prompt answers to all my questions.  The online system for completing document submissions and other processing tasks was easy to use.  I took my time and shopped around for different rates/terms and Commonfund always matched.  If you can do a 15 year mortgage, Commonfund's interest rate hands down beats the competition!   I am a very happy customer!

Knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! I've worked with a few different people at Commonfund, first for obtaining a mortgage several years ago, and more recently for refinancing. In both cases, the staff has been excellent to work with. I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to work with them again. I think mortgage paperwork and all the associated documents are pretty inherently confusing for most people, but Commonfund reps have been very helpful and patient through the whole process. I recommend everyone to Commonfund, and specifically Deborah Parker. My husband and I have mortgaged two houses through them and been though two refinancing's. They are a local company so it makes the whole process easier and because they are also big company they have very competitive rates. I highly recommend you give them a chance when looking for any mortgage products!

Had an outstanding experience with Commonfund from the start. Worked with Melissa and she was incredible. She always answered any questions almost instantly, even if the question wasn't related to her area of expertise she knew exactly who to contact and would go out of her way to get you the answer. The timeline I expected and was informed of was met and I was always in the loop. Everyone I dealt with from The loan officer to the underwriter and the attorney we're easily accessible, kind and professional.
