Comerica Bank Van Dyke Ave, Warren

After a presentation at a local university at the end of class I was taking I was approached to discuss my business with the vice president of this location. She wanted to talk about funding for my business. Although at the time, I did not feel I needed funding, I thought it might be prudent to develop a secondary banking relationship. I currently bank with Old National which has a small presence locally. I have a wonderful relationship with them and have had loans and lines of credit with them. I use small banks due to their personal nature and have always believed large banks would not support local small businesses. After turning in my paperwork 2 months passed by. Very friendly phone calls and emails very received by me from the vice president. Our business is looking like it will double in revenue this season which is way above what I had forecasted. I thought how fortunate I was to have established this relationship as we might very well need an additional line of credit. I also have a piece of equipment on order and she made it seem that Comerica wanted to help with that loan and a line of credit. As time stretched on and she began to apologize for the length of time it was taking her I began to get frustrated. She kept saying they just might have a few more questions. When I finally said I really need an answer as she was contributing to my anxiety, she called me the next day...her tone had changed to very unpleasant and she informed me that Comerica would not provide a line of credit or money for an equipment loan. I do not have a problem with being rejected for a loan. I will get the equipment financed through an equipment financing company. My line of credit with Old National will easily be increase as they believe in me. What I believe is that she, the vice president, of this branch has a quota to fill for looking at financing. She wasted my time over several months. She was like oh I just really took a hard look....what 2.5 months into the wait? It was insulting, her tone was insulting, with a shame on you attitude. Why could she have not taken a hard look on any previous day? What was the change from sweet and polite to rude and condescending? I stick with my attitude of banking with a small bank. I am not here to make a quota for you. I will not bank with Comerica. I may be one person but I made sure to tell my classmates and I hope I have convinced many that small business owners whom employee the majority of America deserve to be treated as well as we treat our customers. Be up front do not drag the valuable resource of time out of a person's life just to reject them.

This is to let top management at Commerica know that I am still a depositor at your bank based on the actions of banker Nadia Tomina. After being upset with the customer service line I called this location and the call was answered by Nadia. When I began my angry tirade(something I wasn't proud of afterwards) and threatened to close my account Nadia calmed me down and offered to meet me at the opening of the next day while explaining the virus precautions to be taken. Needless to say my problems were handled to my satisfaction. Being a retired sales manager I can only say "good job Nadia" and thank you.

They now have a garbage automated phone service, only this branch too. It makes talking to an actual banker nearly impossible.

PITA - Pain in the ... Visiting this branch is more challenging than a typical branch. I've gone enough times and had the same experience to conclude their always slow. There's no reason for it. There's plenty of tellers. They just tend not to be very expeditious and their job. This past week I've decided to close my accounts with Comerica. The numerous fees, the challenges at this branch, my primary location, a few other branches, and the better offers from competitors are my reasons.

Worst Comerica branch in Michigan. Go somewhere, anywhere but this office. I mean sure, Comerica abandoned Michigan for Texas but this place takes the cake. Decent Comerica branches are not too far away...
