I've only been upstairs to the indoor range. All the staff up there were really nice and helpful. They were very knowledgeable about laws etc. Very personable and funny too. They do rent guns for you to use in the range if you don't bring your own. They do allow you to use your own ammo as well. Their prices are a little higher than what I've seen but the customer service and the laid back atmosphere is worth it. We had a lot of fun!!!

Once upon a time this was a pretty okay store as far as firearms go but the two big guys that have been up there have to be the rudest people I have ever met in my life. Hope they find some quality people soon.

Customer service is lacking. Staff is not knowledgeable about what they have in front of them and low ball offers every time. Most have zero clue what they are doing and simply refer to E bay or the web to try and guess what they may offer. When a $3K saxophone walks in the door and a staff member says they wouldn't be interested in it simply because its needs to be repadded and corked ($50 to $250 investment) they truly are in the wrong business. When they offer $100.00 for a $1500.00 saxophone with a resale value of $500 to $700 plus used yea not the place for me. The lady was rude and simply had no idea about musical instruments. Her reasoning as well is it wasn't band season..... lol band season doesn't end and playing music never ends so no. Staff is rude and clueless. I have gone in a few times due to it being one of the only places available in EC for reeds and supplies. They charge way more than any other store I have to travel to and online so this pawn shop is a nope for me. Not only that the locations appearance is trashy, makes me feel as though I should carry my firearm when visiting. There's another shop right around the corner and they truly are amazing just don't carry the supplies I need for my kids musical needs however they carry everything else. So that is my go to from now on for my guns, supplies and ammunition.

Nice place, great indoor range. But all of the sudden they have turned into maskholes here! Been coming all through this scandemic and although they had signs up, they did not enforce the masks..NOW as the rest of the world is loosening these meaningless conditions this place gets strict....the clerk even said that the owner didnt care if she lost business......too bad

Went in to get help on finding new mounts for a new optic. Didn’t have in stock but Johnathan went through some used stuff to find something to work for me. Great help couldn’t have asked for anything more. Much appreciated. From this experience will be back in again. No complaints.

Overpriced on most items. Paid $25 for a $12 guitar tuner but I needed it ASAP and didn't have much choice. Won't be going back.

I haven't been so discouraged to go to a store. Any time I call for whatever reason they seem so bothered to interact with you. It's the same story in person, you get no sense of a that 'welcome' or 'down south' feeling when speaking with someone. Just overall subpar.

These guys will low ball you like you wouldn't believe. I recently had to sell them a NICE 7 piece Ludwig drum kit because they were my last resort. The set is easily worth $1500 with the combined original price that I bought it for and the parts that I added to it. My double bass drum pedal and china alone are worth more than they gave me. LOW BALLED. Be careful here. The staff is offputting and dickish. Have fun trying to even have a decent conversation. They also come off as lazy. I like the money in my pocket, of course, but I probably could have gotten more if I sold it to myself. The only reason that I gave them a 'good' score on quality is because the stuff they have is pretty nice. Probably because they low balled everyone that sold them their stuff. I'm a Marine combat veteran, and they didn't even take that into account. Whatever. Over it.

Rude as hell. Dont waste your time. The owner badly needs new sales people. All staff is very rude and extremely direspectful. Wake up call owner. Hire new staff before you go out of business. E.C. pawn and gun way better.

My husband and I recently purchased firearms. Very kind and patient though they had plenty of customers and they still took time to help us pick out a gun then helped us with all our questions. Joe is the best. I feel like we are part of a family there. Love them !

They are very helpful, most of the time. One guy there acts like he hates his job. So depressing on the phone and I feel like I asked him to shoot his dog everytime I call. And not helpful at all. But everyone else there is really nice and helpful. The new range is clean and awesome to shoot at. Really good date new extra with the wife. Bring your headphones because u cant shoot with plugs in and you have to rent theirs which kind of stinks. Maybe because they just spent a lot of money on the addition and need to recoup some back. But other places, headphones are free, date night w the wife is buy one range admission and get the wife free on Fridays. Or lady's night 1/2 off and free gun rentals. If they did that we'd go more often instead of going some where else. No prices on the sights and other upgrades so do some research on pricing.

Extreme Price Gouging! Ammo prices double and triple and firearms are now a few hundred dollars more. The owner swaggers his short fat self around asking me how i like his good deals. and when told the prices are extreme he says go buy it elsewhere cause someone will buy it at his price. avoid this store at all cost.

Look people.... This IS a pawn shop. That means that they buy low and sell high, because that's the only way they stay in business. They are NOT there to hold your hand or to make nice-nice with you. I have done business with them since they opened. I've bought guns, musical instruments and taken my concealed carry class with them. They are VERY easy to deal with IF YOU SHOW THEM SOME FREAKIN' RESPECT!!! If you give respect, you get respect. You have to realize that there are two ways to price your gun/tool/musical instrument, whatever: 1) You can price it according to your ego, or 2) Price it according to what it's worth. Everyone there, especially Rob, has always been friendly, and are usually more than happy to work with you. Concerning buying guns, I've bought several, and Rob will horse-trade with you. It's a kick!

Very good customer service from the staff, however the boss was DISRESPECTFUL TO HIS STAFF IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. I was highly offended and didn’t appreciate how he treated those who were under his leadership. This one store that I will never come back too, and would not recommend to anyone in the future.

Hi, I would like to take the time to let others know that i have purchased two guns and other items from Chauncey's. Anything u need for your gun check them out they have or can get it. The staff is great in the arms Dept. Johnnie and Jay they are very knowledgeable and always helpful. Others may say that the wait is long sometimes but we all know patience is a great thing to have and they always do a great job. Also the one's who work the center area always wanting to help and get u checked out asap. If u want a great gun and good price go see them. The owner is great too if u have a question check with Rob he's a super down to earth guy with the right answer's. If there's a problem with anything they will work it out. I often stop in as I pass through Elizabeth City. They always seem to have good quantities of the elusive 22LR ammo on hand and at far better prices than I can get it shipped in. We shoot; we need ammo and Chauncey's fills that need. I always check the rack to see what has come in and twice have bought rifles from them. My experience has been that the staff (Johnnie in particular) has been great to deal with as a buyer and I respect his knowledge of what I am usually looking for. Fair prices and a good stable supply of the ammo we consume. As a shooter there just is not much more I can ask for.
