I've had good experiences with CHT personally. Chittenden County honestly doesn't have many "good landlords," and that Cleary won't ever change, but CHT does try harder to help their tenants than any other landlords I've ever dealt with. They offer alot, I'm pretty sure they have programs even to help people get credit, and buy a home eventually. I would have taken the credit class, had I not fixed my credit myself, before my application was accepted through CHT. I would certainly recommend them though 😊 they are definitely the best when it comes to chittenden County.

Might be fair rent prices but office management could care less about issues, don't pay rent and then you get attention quickly.

I've lived here since new . Wouldnt change it... its close to everything. My unit is large and clean. N my neighbors in my building are awesome . Dan is the best property manager ever ...Daryl is a great maintenance personnel.. parking u get a spot 4 ur car . It sucks when ppl take it but it is corrected soon. There is alot of children so if u dont like children noise wouldnt recommend..

I have rented from them for seven years. Having them as landlords gave me a peace of mind. They are always kind to me. If something needs fixing they are right there to fix it. The manager has been fantastic, easy to talk to. I enjoy my apartment very much. I highly recommend them.

I would suggest any other housing entity beside CHT. They do not care what happens to their tenants. Ive been trapped in a closet apt. That rented for 730$ a month before subsidy of 400$ a month they raised it to 770$ and I get stuck cleaning the entire building because they put me somewhere the other tenants don't have their faculties about them. Basically the worst place ive ever lived in my life.

Champlain Housing Trust is a evil and greedy Real estate developer that has a effective public relations department that puts out lots misinformation that makes CHT look good . Generally speaking the only low income people they will rent to are people who have section 8 type vouchers. (Its guaranteed money 1000.00 a month for CHT) But if you are working at MCDoanlds and living at COTS or Harbor Place CHT won't rent to you. If you work at DEALER you can probably rent from them. Be Aware the rent goes up 3 percent every year and CHT collects all kinds of data on your rent payments and attaches it to your SS Number. Think Credit score for renters Its called Yardi. (Google it) This also ends up effecting your credit score. That apartment you are paying 1400 a month for you might end up with a Scary neighbor like the reviews below. Those reviews were cut and pasted from directly from the Burlington Free press. Here is the most recent "incident" that happened at a Champlain Housing Trust owned property South Meadow Apartments Every month I read about Champlain Housing Trust or their tenants causing problems in the Local community. A woman is in custody following a domestic dispute at the South Meadow Apartments during which Burlington police say a man sustained lacerations. Bianca Walton, 34, has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree aggravated domestic assault. She has been jailed pending a court appearance, police said. Burlington police responded to Lyman Avenue in Burlington around 12:30 p.m. Sunday after receiving a report about the injured man. Police said their investigation showed the lacerations had occurred at one of the South Meadow apartments. Sgt. James Trieb said the man was brought to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington and was treated for non-life threatening injuries. Trieb said the man appeared to be injured with "some type of cutting instrument." If convicted, Walton faces up to 15 years in prison and up to $25,000 in fines
