    Beware: when unknown charges show up from Amazon subscriptions, they will force you to keep paying them or close your account. 3 months ago (and I've been a member for years...even bought my home with them) a 16.19 amazon music charge came up. I contact amazon and tell them I never signed up for this.. They confirm its not in my name,, but require me to tell them who used my card.... which of course I don't know. They say they can't stop the subscription without telling them the name of the person using my card (comical isn't it?). So I disputed. I was told by the credit union that since it was under $25 they wouldn't do anything about it (their policy). So next month.... the charge came up again. I called credit union again. They said they'd call me back about it and put a block on my card. They didn't. Month 3... another charge. I call again and put a fraud dispute about it. The credit union emails me back and says they spoke with amazon and won't stop the charges because Amazon said we had a relationship..... I have no choice but to close my account. The credit union will allow fraudulent activity and charges that you did not authorize and determine YOUR money for you. Nope.

    I have been banking with CTFCU since 1998. This has always been an amazing bank. They have helped me with any issues I've ever had. I do find it easier to stop in and address any concerns in person. I've had things happen like a stolen check, fraudulent charges etc. They helped me resolve it. I've had a personal loan and car loan with them and the experience was great. All of the staff have been kind, understanding and helpful. Thank you CTFCU for meeting my banking needs.

    I was so excited to be a credit union member. I have had problems with auto pay, issues with my account number and now have spent an hour trying to talk to someone calling the main number given for the credit union , the automated voice doesn’t allow you to speak with someone unless you have a name and because my account number doesn’t appear to be valid, I am once again having to drive to the office because of the above issues

    Sad when your bank is unwilling to help you resolve an incorrect charge on your account simply because it is a few days past a 60 day period. Doesn’t matter the time frame on an incorrect charge, it should automatically be reviewed as fraudulent. I had tried for weeks resolving issue directly with company that the charge is with before resorting to calling my bank for help. Sadly this bank is unwilling to help their own clients

    I had the worst experience trying to open two accounts. I’d give a 0 star If I could. The representative that was assisting me, clearly didn’t know what to do. So after inquiring with the manager I was told by manager, Derek Terne’, they could not accommodate a business account of “my type”. I couldn’t get clarification of what “my type’ was from him. I went to South Atlantic with the same documents and opened an account with the best customer service any person could ask for in less time of not opening an account with Carolina Trust Federal. It wasn’t meant for me to open an account with a financial institution that treats people differently rather than following guidelines. This bank leadership is a disgrace to the banking industry especially for the credit union sector. Actually the 1 star ⭐️ goes to the receptionist who was professional, courteous and friendly from the beginning of walking in the front doors until you leave. It’s very likely that their partner unions would not like sending their customers to such a disaster.

As a credit union, we do not have the infrastructure to manage all business accounts, so Mr. Terne' advised that you may want to go to a different financial institution where what you were looking for is their niche, and he did not get the impression that you were unhappy.     I would recommend anyone looking to do a vehicle loan to go someplace that knows how to do paperwork and has good customer service because you won't get it here!

    Not for Restaurant Servers. I went to the 21st Ave N. branch twice over a 2 week period to get change and the Tellers said No both times without giving me any options, leaving me asking to see a Manager to get it. Except the last time the manager, allegedly, wasn't available and I got frustrated. A man with the teller next to me ease dropped accusing me of being rude to my teller. My teller who was the Teller Manager did nothing about his interruption. I was stuck defending myself against him while she and the other teller Contently watched us Argue. He forced me to apologized to the Teller Manager to make peace before he would say sorry to me. I asked the Teller Manager if I needed to call the police and she failed to respond. Finally a real manager came to break it off and to get me change. I complained to Real manager being upset that I didn't get privacy over my transaction and upset Teller manager did Nothing to stop him from Interfering with my Transaction. THEY DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR SECURITY. Real manager got defensive towards her and the tellers. They only seem to care about themselves. Later that day, I visited 2 banks explaining I'm a Server needing change. Both said they could get me $2 worth in change on a weekly basis without needing a Manager. So I closed my Account with Carolina "Trust" and opened a Bank account instead. (If they reply to this with an apology I would not believe them.)

    We have found that many business owners who choose to have accounts with banks often send their employees, who are our members, to us to get rolled coin. They do this to avoid the fees they are charged in business accounts with many banks. Most banks charge business accounts for each roll of coin they request. We do not charge these fees. However, it does cost us the same amount of money that banks pay to order, process and store rolled coin. Prior to implementing our limits, we often ran out of coin for OUR business members due to providing rolled coin free of charge to local businesses who bank elsewhere. We should NEVER deny rolled coin to our members for personal use, and if we have done that, we were wrong. Our employees are advised to only deny rolled coin to individuals after repeat requests that appear to be used for business purposes and NOT in a business account. If one of our employees was overzealous, we apologize sincerely and understand if that does not make up for your treatment.

    This is one of the slimiest employers I have ever had to deal with and I didn’t even work here! The only reason they stay in business is because everyone that moves here uses them for shared branch banking. I hope another credit union opens and puts you guys out of business some day because you are the worst!

    We're down here for the winter & bank at a Credit Union at home. We needed to deposit a check & they have shared banking with other Credit Unions. So we went here & deposited our check. No issues & the Ladies were very nice. No issues!
