I applied for a home loan back in March 2022. Was granted pre-qualification in April. On April 27th three days before we were set to close. Caliber's outsourced underwriter started making demands for things to be taken care of. I provided documentation of child support, even refinanced my auto loan with my child's father to show he was not only paying he assumed responsibility for the loan, we also provided a lease showing he would be paying me 800 a month rent while living there. The seller of the property we put a down payment on, agreed to pay 6 thousand to help settle anything else they were concerned about. The next deadline came around and again the underwriter was asking for proof I did not purchase another vehicle, even though the refinance was there asking (all the letters provided had the same Vin number). This person refused to answer calls or get back to us in a timely manner. As a result I lost my 5 thousand dollar down-payment as well as the nearly 2 thousand I paid for the appraisal and survey documents (which prior to being asked to pay these I was told I was approved) and a home. When we were told we qualified and everything was set to close we gave our apartment complex notice so we need to vacate end of month May 2022. So my self, and my 9 year old autistic child as well as his loving father are now out of 7 thousand dollars and a home to live in. I have never in my life been treated so badly, I felt like criminals get more respect than I do. So whatever you do never ever use this mortgage company they will take any money they can from you and then right before you are due to sign and get your keys they will deny you or run down the clock so you lose everything. I have opened a complaint with HUD and the FHA, as well as filing a lengthy complaint to the BBB. I'm praying a friend can house us until we find a home to rent as I will never attempt to buy property again. I have a 720 credit score, excellent payment history and an amazing job with great pay, etc. There is no reason I should have been treated like this and to confirm for readers, I was not denied lending I was delayed for over 45 days with a back and forth for documentation that does not exist until we lost the house due to the seller backing out and not wanting to extend. Never ever use this company they treat their customers worse than criminals.

We were connected with Cricket at Caliber Home Loans through our real estate agent. We were new to the mortgage process but Cricket patiently answered all of our many questions. She made sure we understood everything. The processors Yolanda and Carmen were also great. They made sure all of the paperwork was ready for underwriting and even spent 45 minutes on the phone with me when underwriting questioned my paystubs from my second job as a server. Thank you Cricket and Caliber Home loans for making our first mortgage an easy process!

Yesenia make what could be a very stressful situations into an easy process. She was polite and very professional, she make me feel like I was working with a family member. Manager Cricket Libby is awesome! She took personal responsibility to SUCCESSFULLY obtain my mortgage loan, which had MANY challenges due to Covid, my type of work (self employed musician with music royalties), and the type of home I was purchasing. She was methodical, expeditious, creative, constantly interactive, BOLD (literally fighting for me up the chain of command), and worked tirelessly to systematically overcome every hurdle along the way (and there were many). I give her 12 out of 10!

Yesenia is extremely knowledgeable in this sector. She provides accurate advice while providing excellent customer service to her clients. She is great with numbers and she is able to narrow down every step of the process for you. Fully bilingual! She was also super patience and sweet during the whole proceses. We were able to close on my first home in less than 45 minutes!

If I could have given 0 stars I would have instead of 1. As a first time home buyer my mom had the worst experience with her lender Andre Rattray. We were so stressed and traumatized by the experience my mom ended up in the ER with high blood pressure. Andre was terrible with communication, he was so unprofessional and disorganized. He would request documents that were already sent to him, and just send things to get signed without any explanation. The realtor, myself, and my mom would try to get him and he never picks up. We sent text messages and emails and he would reply that he will try to get in touch but he never did. She ended up paying for things that she didn't have to if he was keeping track of the process. There are soooooo many horrible examples that it would take a day to go through them. I would never recommend him. It was so bad we reached out to his office administrator that confirmed he would inform his supervisor, and only then we started getting results. If I haven't said it before, it's the worst experience and I would never recommend!
