We experienced very poor communication when it came to giving information and setting expectations. As a person who not had much dealings with mortgage services it’s hard to know what to expect and ask. When we did have questions we got partial answers if at all. I’m sure as a regular person with a single mortgage my frustration is mute when I probably will not need mortgage services for years to come but I made sure our lender was aware as they use these services regularly. In my customer centric job I would be creating a lot of extra work for my self, customer care aside, to not just lay out all needed information that may be necessary for them.

I let my overpayment for my closing check expire. I contacted Briteline and they were extremely nice and helpful. I contacted them on Wednesday and Kristi Miner had my check at my house by Friday! So thankful for the awesome customer service.

They didn’t file the deed properly, not once but twice. We closed on my clients home in late November but title didn’t transfer into my clients name until early January. That means that my client was without water service all that time. That means that my client and her family were displaced for more than a month and over the holidays. After many emails to Brightline they finally agreed to refund my client $700 but I had to be relentless in my efforts to convince them to do so. They were unapologetic. In my opinion my client should’ve been fully refunded, not partially. Now my client is receiving past water bills from when the title wasn’t in her name. Clearly Brighton didn’t do their job of paying the water bill up to date out of the sellers proceeds. Also, prior to title transfer they told me client how much money she needed to bring to closing so she left work in order to wire the funds only to find out that Brighton gave us incorrect numbers and that she actually needed to bring 2.5k more. My client had to leave work a second time that day in order to be able to close the sane day. Again, Brighton has been unapologetic and they are currently ignoring my emails in regards to the water bills.

Smooth and efficient closing process on what ended up being a more complicated transaction than I expected due to issues with my survey. The team at Brightline went over and above to research and resolve my issue and ensure the closing happened on time. Transparent process, great professional communication and deep expertise make Brightline a place I’d recommend for any high end / luxury or complex transaction.
