We finally closed on our re-finance with Guaranteed Rate last week after it took almost 4 months (Not Guaranteed Rate's fault I must add). However, I contacted Brian Manning directly to initiate a new loan for our home and was immediately push to "his team." I never once spoke with Brian on the phone, not even an initial introductory call. I only spoke with him later on in the process when I needed to complain about not being provided with any updates on the status of the loan. Brian never even called to introduce himself, coach us on any options, or ultimately thank us for choosing Guaranteed Rate. The loan process rarely is a smooth or joyous experience in itself, but I had a really poor experience with this group. It took a lot of follow-up and prodding on my end to get any updates or information. Brian clearly works on volume and doesn't care about getting to know his customers or guide them through best options or the processes. It's strictly about how many loans "he" can sell, and then farm off to his team to put in their production pipeline. It wasn't a great experience, but what bothered me most, was his lack of interest in actually making his clients feel appreciated by getting to know them or connecting with them himself. I got nothing out of this, only frustration. Consider other options.
