Bluemel's Garden & Landscape Center W Loomis Rd, Greenfield

They came out the first week in August and did a terrible job. The weed barrier showed in many places around the house, stones were piled up in some places, the stump they were supposed to grind was still there, and part of the front bed wasn’t even touched. In their credit they did have a good team come out to fix it, but they really needed to start over to do the job correctly. It’s better, but weeds are already coming through the weed barrier (it hasn’t even been a month) and I don’t think they put grass seed down in every area. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone I know. The picture is what they considered finished the first time. UPDATE 9-16-21 this is the damage to my siding I found and this is the “grass” that was grown from their seeding after being watered everyday. The front yard seeding looks fine because I think they actually put seed there. I’ve contacted my representative and have yet to hear back.

UPDATE: At the time that response was written, actual help was still 2 weeks away. They had TALKED with her several times, but not fixed it in months. Nate Fetting finally fixed the problem and sent some folks over to fix it. Looking much better now! (Especially with the rain). Thank you so much for your time, Nate and team! Original: Ruined my grandma's grass. They were supposed to level the lawn and said they have to redo everything. Now it's patchy with crab grass, AND not level. Since she paid, they won't fix it. Filing with BBB if we don't hear from them tomorrow. "This week" has gone on for at least a month. Absolutely terrible. Judge the pictures for yourself. Is this what you want your lawn to look like?

Went to look for some cornflower plants to finish up my garden design. Addie who helped me was one of best persons to ever assist with my plant selection questions. Was patient and extremely knowledgeable. I was looking for certain colors and she helped me located them. Found a green variety I was really looking for. Purchased my plants and now my garden is complete. Thank you Addie.

After contacting a number of landscaping businesses we settled on Bluemels to repair and replace a large section of our lawn, and are very glad we did. We received excellent service from Ivan and his team not only before and during installation, but also in response to our questions afterwards. Rarely have I experienced such prompt, responsive customer service.

We just LOVE this play area!!! It's big, cushy, plenty of things to explore & fenced in to boot with a gate. Just awesome. They also have bean bag games set up for the kiddos too.

Bluemel’s Garden and Landscape center does a great job. We’ve hired them twice to plant shrubs and flowers and both times we were extremely pleased with their work. The crews were friendly and professional; the owner Jim was there at the beginning of each project and then periodically throughout with a follow up visit the next day. And the clean up was perfect. Definitely five stars!!

Bluemel’s did an outstanding job with the new patio and garden walls for our yard. Ivan was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with the design and material selection. Most importantly to me his communication skills were excellent. I always knew what was happening during the construction. The crew was very hard working and true craftsmen at their trade. In the last 18 months I used Bluemel's landscaping service three times in different areas of my property. On each occasion I received excellent service from Ivan and his crew. In fact the work came out better than I expected. Ivan and his crew gave me some great suggestions for future improvements I will use their services again.

I bought a house that had been owned by "urban farmers" who trashed the front with terrible dirt and stretched the "garden" to the sidewalk, holding the dirt in with various rocks. Bluemels came and in one day and transformed the front of my house , beautifully landscaping with a garden wall filled with viable soil and laid sod between the sidewalk and the garden wall. It was reasonably priced for all the work involved and I now feel civilized.

Bluemel's is very easy to work with and very knowledgeable. Ivan is a great person to work with and he is very fair and honest in his assessment of what should be done. We had a beautiful stone wall built with numerous plantings as well as smaller areas around our patio - workmanship is top quality. The project was completed on time. We have used them for various projects in both our front and back yards and we have been pleased every time. We recommend them and we will use them for any future projects that we may want to do.

I needed my sump pump run underground into the back yard so that it would not freeze in winter. I hired Bluemels. Instead of solving this problem I ended up with a swamp in back yard, a wet garage and paid thousands of dollars. I reached out to Bluemels and they came back to look at my yard. They agreed it was not what was expected and would get back to me. What I received was a proposal for $2000 dollars worth of work. They would dig up much of what had been done and reroute it. I sent a email asking them to reconsider the price since it involved digging up what I had already paid for. That was May 19th and I still have received a response. They were the only quote I requested and I guess I learned my lesson. Look into all options before you proceed with costly work from Bluemels. Clearly they not support their work. This picture was taken in the early spring before the grass had turned green.

The staff are nice enough and it’s a cute place but don’t buy plants or flowers here, it’s a complete RIP OFF. Rhododendron $50 here, $15 at Home Depot. Madevilla $69 vs $20, $16 pc for asiatic lilies vs $20 for a pot of 5. Don’t make the same mistake I did!!

Transformation doesn’t even begin to describe what occurred in our yard as July 2021 waned. Our lawn – if you can call it that – was pretty much non-existent in sections after a major renovation was completed, and a complete overhaul of our yard was the only remedy open to us to bring beauty back to our corner of the globe. A call to Bluemel’s Garden and Landscape Center connected me with Tyler, and we were off and running. Before I get into the nitty gritty of this write-up, I’d like to say a few words about Tyler – he was extremely easy to work with through the design process. True, I gave him a lot of leeway (at least that’s how I hope he saw it). My three objectives for flowers and shrubs were 1) lots of color, 2) easy to take care of, and 3) they be perennials that would do very well in Wisconsin. Tyler came through for us – with flying colors! As the plants mature, I know they will provide a feast for our senses! Jonathan, Javier and Nelson – well, to say “thank you” doesn’t really express how deeply appreciative we are for all your hard work (an understatement!). We know it was exhausting to work under the brutal July sun – in 90+-degree temperatures, no less! – to dig out the old flower beds, strip the yard that was to be sodded, set the border stones – and then get to the “fun” part: planting the new flowers and shrubs, and rolling out the sod. You toiled hour after hour, and all your hard work bore the fruits of your labor. The yard looks absolutely gorgeous ... more beautiful than we could have imagined (and that is saying something for me since I have a self-professed excellent imagination!). Now, all we have to do is keep everything alive, growing, thriving – which we intend to do. The sprinklers are running as I post this, and we’ll keep them going. We want you all to be proud of us when Bluemel’s returns later this fall to tackle Phase 2 of our project. :-) The crew worked diligently while onsite, and before leaving at the end of the work day, they policed the entire yard to retrieve tools and equipment and pick up anything they discarded during the day. That was much appreciated. :-) Thank you. For those of you still with me, if you’re looking for a landscaping company to tackle your yard, whether it be plantings or sod (by the way, we opted for sod over seeding [which, yes, is less expensive] because spreading seed is – truly – hit or miss; sod is much more reliable.) – or both – all I can say is look no further than Bluemel’s Garden and Landscape Center. Everyone who works there is so friendly, has the experience to help your imagination become reality, and is dedicated to bringing beauty to your world. I was very happy with my experience with Bluemel’s. I worked with Ivan on a landscape/planting project and his design was perfect for the area. He answered any question or concern I may have had promptly. Tom and his crew did an awesome job with the planting of trees and plants. I would not hesitate to use Bluemel’s again. Very professional.

Ivan gave us a fair estimate for the job. The crew came out to place mulch around our yard and house. They were on time and did an excellent and professional project. The workers were very efficient and worked very hard to get the large garden area mulched. Greatly appreciated it.!! Have had several compliments on how wonderful the yard looks from the neighbors.
