This was one if very few homes that had everything my family needed! Elevator was incredibly helpful for limited mobility family members and hauling groceries to the top floor. The double kitchen, huge table and bar seating allowed us to all eat together! The beachfront had enough sand for all the kids to play by the house. The pool was perfect for school aged kids. The double laundry is amazingly helpful. Any issues we had were responded to and corrected in a timely manner. Daniel with maintenance was very polite and helpful with the elevator issue we had! Kim was super responsive. Housekeeping was prompt. The location between ocean crest pier and Kings was perfect. This was the kids first trip to the beach, and it wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable without this property! We definitely had Suite Dreams, except the children's feet sounded like elephants on the top floor for anyone sleeping in the middle floor. Lol.

Better Beach Rentals Review 902 Ocean Dr Oak Island, NC 28465 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This property is ideal for the location (with beach access across the street) the elevator, and the pool. Although the elevator was not working upon arrival, a phone call to the off hours number (and Brittany, a human being) brought assistance within the hour. The staff and maintenance support are very courteous and helpful. We have reserved this property again for next year, our 3rd consecutive year. Bud Munnelly

FLIP FLOP INN Can’t control fan in 3rd bedroom with the twin beds. Fan is on high and couldn’t shut it off or slow it down Overhead light in master bedroom doesn’t work and couldn’t control fan. Not small medium dog friendly area. Lots of gaps in between gates and under gates for a smaller dog to escape. Gap on left hand side of stairs that a dog could fall in between and get hurt. Overgrown yard and big woodpiles in yard that could attract snakes or others. Gates don’t latch like they should. The railing going down the stairs to the backyard is unstable and loose There is a plank under the walkway there is a board not attached properly and could result in a serious fall risk. Backyard was completely flooded and unusable during the rain Saturday and still completely folded Sunday Foot of the king size bed slopes down and when u sit on it it sinks about to the floor. Soft spots in the floor. Especially near the full bathroom. Why did we pay $175 cleaning fee and we had a list of all the cleaning u expected us to do before we left. We sent an email regarding damage to one of the comforters by our dog and no response back about the situation. The king comforter has some kind of powder on it in several place and had a weird smell to it as well. The coffee table is very wobbly and needs to be tightened up. Overall I would give this place a 2.5 out of 5. I would definitely find somewhere else to stay for the money we had to pay.

This is our second year booking the Monkey Biscuits house through Better Beach Rentals. We adore this house! It's perfect for our two families, one with very small children. We love the simplicity, openness and comfort of the house. We never feel cramped for space like some other houses we've stayed in. We appreciate the thoughtful touches of the basic necessities. It's nice not to have to worry about getting toilet paper and paper towels and other things as soon as we get there. The large pool is an added bonus. Plenty of room for all to swim and play! Working with Better Beach Rentals is so easy. Great communication, plenty of information and I appreciate the reminders of when payments are due and anything else pertaining to the house. We can't wait to come back next year!

We had a great experience renting a beach house with Better Beach rentals. The rental and payment process was seamless and the customer service during our stay was terrific. We called and needed assistance and within an hour, we had a representative on site. The rental home was impeccably clean and the ammenities were outstanding. We love to cook on vacation and the kitchen had everything we could possibly need. We will be back and will recommend Better Beach Rentals. Thank you for a great week.

Our family of 14, 3 generations age 3 to 69 really enjoyed our stay here. The house is well equipped, but could use a few minor additions. It could use shades on the dining room windows due to the evening sun. Beach access is great and in a place that isn’t as crowed as other places in the area. The house was very clean when we arrived. This is our third year staying here. We can recommend this as a really good place to enjoy a week at the beach.

Cute beach bungalow in a quiet area, within walking distance to the beach. A Potter's House is just perfect for our needs, and we like the location. The house was very clean, and was just as we expected.. Pictures on the website look exactly like the house.We only had one issue, and it was resolved quickly. The sheet set labeled queen had a fitted sheet that was too small for the bed, but we called the office, and Jerry had a new set of sheets waiting for us. Great customer service!

Had a wonderful week in Oak Island staying at a rental with Better Beach. House was gorgeous, spacious, and well stocked and organized. Called to have the ice machine on refrigerator serviced and someone came by and took care of it immediately. The pool was beautiful and the location was very convenient. We were able to walk to groceries and an amazing donut shop. Can’t wait for our trip next year!

ALL DECKED OUT was a perfect home for our family vacation! The house was clean, spacious, and the location was perfect! We enjoyed the beach, inlet, pool, hot tub, beautiful sunset views from every level! The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots, pans, etc. Better Beach Rentals was very easy to work with - booked our vacation on line and they updated us by email and text with check in info. We had a very minor issue (coffee maker didn’t work) and BBR came out immediately with a brand new one!! awesome house, awesome rental experience - can’t wait to come back next year!!

We have throughly enjoyed our week at The Beach Escape. The layout of bedrooms and family areas is perfect for our family. The sounds from the family area do not travel much to the bedrooms. We have loved being ocean front and walking straight to the beach. My family enjoyed sitting on the large back porch listening and watching the ocean. There were a few appliance issues but overall we had a great stay. We look forward to staying here again next year.

We had a great family visit at Hip Nautic. It is very spacious and fully equipped. The views from this first row home balconies are awesome. You can hear the ocean laying in bed which is so soorhing. This place is definitely worth renting. Give it a try, you won't regret it. .

We have had an incredible stay at Bridgewater! The house is so perfectly situated on the beach and surrounded by flowers and grasses of the marsh. The interior of the house is well designed and well appointed, with comfortable furniture and a well-stocked kitchen. We will likely bring our own bath towels next year, as we felt the provided towels were on the small side, but otherwise we have only glowing things to say about this house and we can’t wait to come back!

We stayed at West Point. Great location, semi-private beach, nice big rooms, adequate amount of bathrooms, good size pool. Cons - small kitchen, not enough silverware, serving bowls, etc. No can opener. Toaster and toaster oven did not work. We brought a lot of our own stuff for the kitchen year knowing that it wasn't supplied. Some wiring issues in the kitchen. Hot tub did not work (actually 2nd year in a row for us.). Better Beach Rentals does a great job with communication and quick to respond.

I am Pat Bishop having technical issues but want to leave an excellent review!! We are so excited to be staying with Better Beach Rentals! Their assistance has been wonderful! All our questions were promptly answered. We are ready to have a wonderful experience in a beautiful home right on the ocean front! Better Beach Rentals has been so great to work with!

EDITED AS OF 12/16: I'm editing my review because after I gave this place a good review (because they asked me to in order to not have to pay my hold fee), it didn't work out. The rental agent ended up reserving the wrong house alltogether and completely ruined our vacation plans! Three months ago, it was much easier to find a beach house... now in December, it's difficult to find one! So after finding out she reserved the wrong house for us (it didn't even have the needed # of bedrooms and it didn't meet any of the things we asked for), we had to cancel our reservation and search for a new home. I will not be renting with Better Beach Rentals in the future because of this. When I pointed out the error, they did nothing to make it better - not great customer service! OLD/PREVIOUS REVIEW: Finding a beach house to rent is more difficult than ever, because with the pandemic, renting a beach house seems like a popular vacation choice! After weeks of searching other vacation rental websites with no luck, I reached out to Better Beach Rentals - I'm so glad I did! They were so helpful and extremely quick to reply. Sydney helped us find the perfect beach house for next summer - and addressed all of my questions in a clear manner. I should also mention the prices for beach house rentals from Better Beach Rentals are much more reasonable than some of the other rental websites - and the houses are beautiful with many options to choose from on Oak Island. We're looking forward to our vacation next summer!

Overall the cottage was very nice, nice master bedroom, nice view of the beach from both porches. Kitchenware needs improvements. There’s not a full set of any dishes, need more coffee cups. Be nice to have wine glasses for holidays and celebrations. Overhead microwave oven does not work but there is one on the counter. Kitchen sliding door does not open without a lot of effort. Minor suggestion to add hooks on back of bathroom doors. Would suggest more lamps in living room area. We were concerned the kitchen chairs are really heavy and are going to tear up the floor unless they get rubber pads or something for them. Over all the house was really nice though.

This is a beautiful beach house! Our grandchildren love the bunk rooms and all the grown ups like having King suites! The kitchen is well stocked and the views from the balconies are spectacular! Better Beach Rentals responded very quickly to some small issues and they were resolved the same day!

We have had a great experience with Better Beach Rentals, this year. Every email/question I had, before and during our stay, was met with a prompt and attentive response, from my contact, Autumn. When we arrived at the house, it was clean and ready for our visit. The provided sheets/towels were placed in each room, and a welcome bag was waiting for us in the kitchen. We have been able to relax and enjoy our family vacation, at Oak Island!

This is the second year we have stayed at Sensational and absolutely love it. Our kids remember it year after year and never fails that the most amazing memories are made!! Couldn’t ask for more in a vacation at the beach.

Our family of 15 had a great time! The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable! The elevator was a huge plus for the disabled members that I have in my family. It would have been helpful to have support bars in the large shower for disability issues but overall we are very pleased and we will be back next year.

We'll be back to Carpe Diem at the western end of Oak Island. After a 4 minute walk, I was standing on the beach. It was a very nice beach....uncrowded. My wife loved the kitchen. The house was clean and everything worked. I heard zero complaints from my wife, children, or grandchildren. The four balconies/porches were a plus...along with the great breezes. That's were I stayed...top floor, beach side. The back porches overlooked the Montgomery Slough body of water.

A-Parrot-Dice This place is sub-standard, compared to the other rentals we've had over the years from Better Beach Rentals. The wiring is a mess of extension cords and all exposed... not good for a place that allows pets. The shower has major cracks in the grout with mold issues under nearly all of the caulking. The bathroom's surround is loose and water has infiltrated into the drywall. The furniture is tired, with the couch held together by fabric tape. The dining room chairs are sagging. The wood rockers on the back patio are the most comfortable seating in the entire house. The inside chairs and couches are too uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time… even to watch TV. Certainly not to read nor do a puzzle. The master bed mattress is good but those in the other two rooms are trenched. The screening in both storm doors is all but ripped out. The property looks good in the pictures but in reality, the whole place needs some serious work. On the plus side, the rental company sent a handyman to fix the broken gateway and detached headboard and he sprayed Clorox on the moldy areas but there wasn't much he could do about the rest. Also on the plus side is that the refrigerator, microwave, washer and dryer are all good appliances and there is lots of hot water. The location is great. Bottom line: lots of other places are available for the same rate that are much better maintained and equipped. If you don't care about the broken-down appearance and only want a beach front property for a couple of days then this might work if there is nothing else available. Otherwise I'd suggest that you continue to look elsewhere. A few pictures have been attached.

We have loved our stay so far at The Perfect Landing. House has a great layout & nice pool. It is also in a great location & has an ocean view. Very family friendly & convenient to the pier & coffee shop. We highly recommend this house & Better Beach Rental Company!!!

We love The Salty Owl! Our family of 13 fit comfortably; there’s plenty of room for everyone. The house is beautiful, clean, and spacious. The one minute walk to the beach is perfect and we can see the ocean from our deck. We will definitely be repeat renters.

Our very large family rented "Just Add Water" and we were very happy with the property. Upon arrival, our house was clean and the keyless entry made for a convenient check-in. The reverse living floor plan provided us with great ocean views! This home provided plenty of space for everyone, with lots of great amenities! Can't wait for next year!

UPDATE: Still feel the same about the house, BUT NOT THE 22% PRICE INCREASE FROM ONE YEAR TO THE NEXT!!! Lovely house, great view, fabulous pool! Well appointed kitchen with two ovens and an ice maker. Comfy deck and pool furniture. My only wish is that there was a separate drink refrigerator or full sized one. One fridge is just not big enough in a house for 12 guests. We’ll definitely be back to 1 Emerald of the Sea!

Seas and Stars at OIBV was absolutely perfect! At the beautiful Caswell Beach, actually, where it is quiet and such wide beaches! The ocean view from the porch was beautiful. Also, it was an end unit, and right by the nice walkway to the beach. Perfect for our family of 7!

The house was perfect for our family. Loved the location and the pool. Kitchen was outfitted fairly well. It needs a blender. The only issue we had were that the trash cans were full of the previous renters trash when we arrived so there was no where to put our trash until it was picked up on Wednesday.

I have rented through Better Beach Rentals for several years now and plan to continue to! They have always been extremely responsive when there are any issues at the house and great at communicating ahead of my vacation. They definitely help make planning my vacation less stressful.

We arrived at 4203 Ocean Walk around 430 pm on 7/2/2022. We called the office and they said our apartment was clean and ready to go. When we arrived the apartment had not been cleaned. We called with our concerns and they sent a house keeper who arrived around 6. She was very kind and got to work right away with cleaning the refrigerator out. We stopped back by to check progress around 745 after we put ourselves on a restaurant waiting list. We were able to check in around 10/1030. The house keeping manager informed us that the rental company would give us a call Tuesday the 5th to discuss the incident. They didn’t call so my husband called on Wednesday, they said they would call back, no one called back. So we tried again Thursday, no one called back… My husband went into the company and they said someone would contact him. Someone finally contacted us Friday the 8th. We asked for our money back for Friday night since we were not able to check in until 10 pm. They said they would waive the housekeeping fee and give us a late check out (which does not work when you have an 11-12 hour drive). Comments were made to try and place the fault on us and that is ultimately why I am writing this review. We were told “You made house keeping wait an hour, you could’ve been in an hour earlier if you didn’t do that.” This is false the housekeeper was actively cleaning the entire time we were in the home. Also the comment of “You’re coming out on top, you got a free night out of it” was made. So I just wanted to let the owners know that driving for 11 hours, not being able to check in until 10pm, going to a restaurant sweaty/gross in the same lounge clothes you have been driving in all day, having to make all the beds when you return from the restaurant since no sheets were placed on the beds, and not having anyone resolve the issues for the ENTIRE week is far from “coming out on top.” I hope no one else has to experience this and I would highly recommend looking at other rental companies. The pictures are of what we came into, I did not take a picture of the second toilet as there was actual feces in it. The last picture is what I found under the bed the day before we left when I was looking for a sock, but as the company suggested, perhaps if we wouldn’t of held things up the apartment would be in a better state. Also, I am not sure what the other thing is next to the socks is, I did not want to touch it. We ultimately decided not to take the refund for Friday night so that we could post this review and people would be aware of this situation. If we accepted the refund for Friday night we had to sign a contract saying that the company is not to blame for our experience, that we were in violation of the original agreement, and that we would be fined $5000 if we posted negative feedback.

We stayed at Serenity sands. House was amazing. Better beach rentals was responsive to all our needs. Definitely coming back.

Stayed at “Heels Up” and found the location and accommodations to be great! House was clean, orderly and stocked w essentials in kitchen. Had a minor issue w coffee maker and Better Beach Rentals responded and replaced quickly. We plan to be back next year.

The property, "Saltwater Gospel" exceeded our expectations. All the amenities were top end and the location was great. The wrap around windows on the living area provided breath taking views. The staff was very responsive to any request. We have already booked the house for next year.

The house was absolutely beautiful in a nice quiet neighborhood. Plenty of space and very cozy. Only a short walk to the beach and when we were not there the kids and adults enjoyed the in-ground pool and hot tub. Communication was great with BBR, everything was done through email and text messaging. Any questions or concerns were answered before we were able to ask. If not back to the same house will use BBR for another vacation home next summer.

I found the rental to be clean and very accommodating. Making the reservation was straight-forward and easy. After check-out, I stopped by the office to offer my compliments and thanks, and found the staff to be very pleasant, personal and professional. I was very pleased and intend to patronize BBRS again in the future!

Better Beach Rentals was easy to work with and helped every step of the rental process. We had an issue with the property when we arrived on a Saturday - after calling the afterhours hot-line a technician came out within 15 minutes and fixed the issue! We will rent from them again!

We ran into a couple little issues with our house these 2 weeks. Better Beach was amazing and extremely quick in resolving the issues. They were at our house and dealt with the issues very quickly. They were all very pleasant and friendly.

We just stayed at Ocean Townes for Spring Break 2022. This is a perfect location for a family with young children. This year was our third at this location, and as our kids grow, we are still able to find new activities for them that we can all walk to. 2 playgrounds, a splash pad, tennis and basketball courts, huge open field for sports, kites, etc, the Dollar Store and Publix, coffee and donut shop - it has everything! Add to all that a quick walk to the beach and we never want to leave!

Perfect amount of space for our family, convenient location to everything, and the kids loved having a private pool. The rental company was great to respond quickly anytime we needed something. The only thing I wish they offered was a golf cart.

Been renting with Better Beach for the past couple of years now and the times we have problems they are very quickly resolved. Renting is no issue, very easy and simple and instructions for arrival days are always sent on time and with lots of information. Our 2021 stay at Oak Island was perfection! Our home was clean, well decorated, had a well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, and an easy walk to the beach. Such a great week in great company!

We have been going to Oak Island for over 20 years. This was our first time renting with Better Beach Rentals. We did have a great time but there are a few things I feel the next renter should be aware of (good and bad). Good: • Why we rented with BBR: o We were not required to rent an entire week – we stayed 5 nights o Reasonably priced compared to others with seemingly no hidden fees • Comments about The Compass (house rented) o Location – fantastic o Large porch with lots of seating – this was my favorite part about the house o Walkable to the beach Bad: • What is not advertised in The Compass is that the owners live directly below the unit you rent. In other words, you rent the upstairs and the owners are there the entire time. This makes you constantly feel like you’re being watched or an inconvenience. Had we have known, we would not have rented this home. We are there to get-away and not be on pins and needles with the owners knocking on the door. • FALSE ADVERTISING o This home is NOT a keyless entry. This is important to note because it impacts when and how you get into the home. o This property does NOT come with a grill as advertised. This is important because as you plan meals, the grill that is directly on the property is the owners, and not yours to use. This creates an extremely uncomfortable situation when you are using the grill (that is advertised in the property) and the owner then informs you that is their grill o Outside shower does not work • SAFETY CONCERNS: Strangers coming into home. We rented The Compass through Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon a man walked up to the door, house key in hand. The front door was all glass, so he could see in and I could clearly see him. I had the door partially opened and he let me know he was there to check the air filters. No introduction, no background on who he was, but then he walked into the home, into the hallway, checked and air filter and then left. After putting it all together, we assume this was the owners father or somehow related to the property. However, this man should have never entered the home or BBR should have called us to notify us someone was coming and entering the home. This is unacceptable and a safety issue. Was the home nice, yes. Was the location great, absolutely. Would we ever rent The Compass or from Better Beach Rentals – absolutely not.

We rented Fishizzle for 8 days off season. Management graciously accommodated weather issues and was otherwise responsive as we made our reservation. The house was in excellent shape, and we had no further needs during our stay.

Stayed at at Better Beach rental property with in the past couple of weeks. "Key Rest" was the house. The house was not cleaned, dirty sinks, hair on the floors and steps and most of all the house was beat up! Holes in the wall, paint coming off cabinets, soft spots and separated flooring in the living room area along with loose electrical devices along with some hanging out of the walls. Better Beach rentals was contacted and they are ignoring the complaints. Don't me get me wrong, I understand things are not going to be perfect but the pictures dont match the actual living conditions and the house was digustingly dirty. A maintenance man had to come in and fix some of the issues.

Our family has thoroughly enjoyed the rental house Saltwater Gospel at Oak island. Great space. Great location. Amazing kitchen. Lots of great space. Definitely will return

The house is a wonderful location. Short walk to beach access. The washer and dryer are down in the carport area not in the house. Overall this was a good home for our first time in Oak Island!

WHERE'S MY REFUND??? STILL WAITING??? I will start by saying that we were unable to find any fire extinguishers! - Doorknob at main entrance was rusty and overhead light was rusty, had peeling paint and full of bugs. - Vines were growing up the house and shrubs were overgrown and leaves were all over the outside walkways. - Outside furniture was old and rickety and not a comfortable area to hang out and relax. - Outside kitchen doorframe is rotting and makes door difficult to use. - Broken pots and concrete with a rusty pole sticking out out back as well as an old broken chair and old microwave just laying outback on ground. - Ripped open bags of sand by the AC unit outback. - Rust around outdoor windows on garage and other places. -Outdoor driveway light had missing glass panes and broken glass laying on the ground. - Outdoor shower had no privacy wall. - Dead roach on floor near back doors in living room. -Outdoor lights on bedroom doors were broken. One light fixture was missing with EXPOSED WIRES and the other one had a broken bulb. -Outside ground lights were broken with parts and glass just laying on the ground. - Old rusty Outdoor speakers - Inside couches weren't clean and VERY uncomfortable and old! One was covered and one wasn't! The covered couch had stains all over it. - Ceiling fans were dusty and dirty. -AC returns had the CHEAPEST filters that aren't conducive to filtering out dusts properly especially during Covid! Dining room wall had dirty handprints by switchplate for lights. - Dirty kitchen overhead lights with bugs in all four lights. - Refrigerator had tons of rust all over the outside of it. - Kitchen cabinets had water damage. - Soap dispensers were low or non existant. - Window in guest bedroom was rusty on top left corner. - Carpet in guest bedroom wasn't installed correctly and made a trip hazard. - Missing light in guest bathroom as well as rusty light fixtures in bathrooms! - Nasty hair on doorframe in guest bathroom. -Master bedroom was absolutely the worst!!! - FECAL MATTER on the baseboards near toilet and nasty plunger in the shower bathroom. -Master shower had a tremendous amount of mold. - Shower head was moldy. -Master shower bathroom had missing heat lightbulbs and had an exposed fan that is unsafe. -The pocket door in Master shower bathroom couldn't close properly. -Light fixtures were rusty in ALL bathrooms. - Missing batteries and battery cover on Master bedroom remote control. - TV was too large for the cabinet it was in and that made it impossible to slide doors out of the way so TV could be used properly. The TV was also too low and was difficult to watch. Needs to be wall mounted!! - Return vent in the Master bedroom wasn't closed properly and could have fallen on someone's head. - Master closet was full of pictures and mirrors and had no hangers! - Carpet in Master bedroom wasn't installed properly and is a trip hazard! -Vent covers in the ceiling were rusty! - one old vent cover was left on the floor in Master bedroom. - Toilet seat in Master shower room was old and dirty. - Bathroom exhaust vents were old and had bugs in them. -Switchplate in Master bathroom with tub was broken. - Sink in Master bathroom with tub had no stopper to fill sink with water, also risking losing valuables, which made it stressful. -Master tub shower had a light hanging that had a rusty cracked cover on the ceiling that could've fallen and hurt someone. - Master bedroom can lights were burnt out. -Master bathroom tub had a broken hot water handle that fell off and made it impossible to use hot water!!! -Master bathroom tub had no spray attachment on the body sprayer. -Comforter that was on the Master bed was dirty with some type of bodily fluids on the . Also, our stay was for 4 days, with 6 adults. We were left with 1 roll of toilet paper, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 trash bag, and 1 dish washer tab. For 4 days. With 6 adults. We love Better Beach Rentals, they are always quick to fix any issues and I love the lines always included in rentals. The Oak Island rentals are all beautifully located. We love West Point.

The house is beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. We enjoyed our week. The only complaint we had was with housekeeping. The first floor bathroom floors were dirty and we found a dirty towel in the bathroom. The main living area was clean. We never received the black bags for our dirty linen. The house should have been extra clean because it was after 4:00 when we were notified that we could get in. Also the porch ceiling on the top floor is bowed and looks like it could fall in around the side.

We have rented from Better Beach for 5 years now. We have had a very good experience. Their staff is helpful and friendly. Their properties are well kept and comfortable. I recommend them.

We loved our stay at Southern Tides. The house was beautiful and the ocean views were great. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Looking forward to our stay next year.

Ocean Walk-Condo unit is older, beds not comfortable at all. Carpet needs replaced. We loved the area, as it was our first time vacating in OKI. Better Beach rentals was easy to work with for sure.

We had 6 adults and 3 tiddlers in our group. We had the best of both worlds. Easy walk to the ocean in the front and awesome new dock outside in the back. Fishing, paddleboarding, dolphins all in the back. Beautiful days on the beach. Great beds. Bathrooms wereset up oerfect for our 3 families. We will be back!!

The Blue Lobster is a great place to stay. The kitchen has everything we need. The pool is the perfect size. We’re looking forward to coming back next year.

This was our first time renting from Better Beach Rentals, and our first time returning to Oak Island in many years. The company has been great to work with. They were really stretched last week with Hurricane Isaisas, so their responses were slow but understandable. They have been very kind and helpful and we love this house and look forward to returning next year!

Better Beach Rentals provides 5-star customer service. We had two issues with our rental and they were both resolved within ONE HOUR!!! Who does that nowadays?

This property, a Perfect View in Oak Island, NC, does in fact have a fantastic view! That part of it is definitely on point! HOWEVER, it needs a serious cleaning!!! When we arrived and was unpacking to settle in and get the kitchen setup, first there was a lot of sand and a dirty towel in the elevator so it obviously had not been swept or mopped so we had to start with cleaning that up. This was a challenge because there was no broom on this property and that was one item we didn’t think we needed to bring. Then when we got to the kitchen, there were some pots that had drippings on them from food that had boiled over from a previous renter and left unclean. The oven was not clean as well. There was a big piece of aluminum foil in the bottom covered in grease. The potholders & kitchen hand towels had not been washed having old food on them as well. The cabinets had food items, open chips, candy wrappers, etc. just left in them so they also had not been wiped out. The fridge is also kinda small, with a missing shelf in the freezer, so don’t bring too many groceries. And the list continued. The dryer was broken and did not work during our entire stay. Housekeeping had to have known as they left some curtains from one of the bedrooms in the dryer wet. We called maintenance but they did not bother to fix it for the entire week. Then, there was a hefty layer of dust, hair, and other debris under the dressers, nightstands, & couch that had many of us with allergies stuffy throughout the nights. Some of the bedspreads also did not look clean with stains that you couldn’t tell if they had been washed or not, but of course with a broken dryer we couldn’t even wash them ourselves. And, the balcony seems to be detaching from the house so it made all of us a little uncomfortable to spend too much time on it. Then, the pool, we had no way of trying to keep the pool clean from the sand and bugs; so this just built up during the week. It was partly clean when we arrived but no one came out until a week later on Friday and we were leaving on Saturday! Last kicker, roaches. Yes, we killed more than we should have. Better Beach Rentals should really do something about its housekeeping team as they are not doing this property justice. We should not have to spend a day cleaning up to just be comfortable with being inside this property. So, if none of this is important to you, then enjoy the view and the beach. Those were the positives of this property. We liked the location as well and many of the North Carolinians were very friendly and nice! This property could really be awesome if it is just giving a lot of tender loving care!

My family and I had a wonderful experience staying here. Plenty of room and four bathrooms were a must for our growing family. Would definitely rent again!

We love Better Beach Rentals! Their staff are friendly, accommodating and always very timely in replying to our requests/questions. The beautiful house we stayed in was clean and comfortable and they even allowed us to get in prior to check in time given we had driven so far. Wonderful vacation!

Blue Dragonfly was the perfect house for our vacation. It was big enough for two families. All the bedrooms had a private bath. It is just a few steps to the beach. When we arrived the kitchen sink was stopped up. I called and left message with the maintenance department and my call was immediately returned. Maintenance man arrived within 30 minutes and fixed the problem. We will be booking this house again next year.

Beautiful home with easy beach access. Kitchen is amazing. Private baths in bedrooms is a big plus. Rooms are large.

Our house was wonderful, clean, and well stocked. BBR was responsive to two small issues we had after check-in. The beach was marvelous!

We have stayed at this same Better Beach Rentals house 2 of the last 3 years. Everything was great, the check in process is easy the home is beautiful and we love the convenience of the ocean front location. The only reason I did not rate a 5th star was because my wife left an expensive personal pillow (she has bad neck pain) in the home and we have had a very difficult time getting anyone to get back to us if we are able to get the pillow back. They have said they would contact us on 3 or 4 different occassions bit no one ever calls us back to let us know if they have the pillow.

Better beach handled our specific needs and helped us work out a tough situation. We throughly enjoyed the beautiful home Dune Nuttin and we are looking forward to many more vacations here.

This is our 2nd year renting the house "Just Peachy" and our 3rd year renting from Better Beach Rentals. We could not be more pleased with our stay each time. The house is always clean and maintained. There's always a small welcome gift waiting on us upon arrival as well. As far as we are concerned, we wouldn't rent with anyone else!

We used Better Beach Rentals to rent the house 2Cool for a week this August, 2021. We couldn’t have had a better experience. The house was spotless, it was beautifully painted and furnished, and the decor was adorable. Every single appliance was top-notch, and the kitchen was stocked with every single thing we needed. It was the first time we opted to rent a pet-friendly home (pandemic puppy!) and you can never tell an animal was ever in the home. No fur, no smells, and nothing chewed. Even the woman who cleaned the pool, the owner of the pool cleaning company, was super friendly- and the pool was well-kept and clean. Thanks for a great vacation!

The house and Yard had a lot of issues. It was supposed to be pet friendly however the grass was over waist high, there was nails all over the yard, and on the patio table there was lighter fluid and electrical boxes. All the company wanted to do is over look the problem. Never rent from this company.

Our family enjoyed our stay at "Isle Be Back" The house was just perfect for our entire family. Plenty of rooms for everyone to have their own space. Along with a wonderful area upstairs for the entire family to spend time together. The two decks are amazing to sit and relax all day and night. The pool was a nice place to cool off during the hot days. Better Beach Rentals took care of our every need. This was our second stay with Better Beach Rentals at "Isle Be Back." We just adored this house and plan to stay again next year.

We have rented many beach homes over the years. We have never gone back to the same home. However, Almost Heaven, is a beautiful beach home with all the amenities we like to have. The decoration is perfect, the bed is comfortable, it is very modern and clean. The landscaping is beautiful we love the pool. Both Better Beach rentals and the home owners have been great to deal with. We like Almost Heaven so much we have already booked for 2023. Highly recommended.

Our large group stayed at two neighboring properties, Savannah and Cordoba, over the New Years holiday weekend. We were able to check in on time and everything was sparkling clean! I recommend calling BBR to speak with a rep. Each time they were helpful. The kitchens and large seating areas were perfect for making and sharing meals together. The beds were comfortable and had quality linens and blankets. Most bedrooms had an accompanying bath, which was so convenient. Two bedrooms in each house face the ocean with a deck, perfect to hear the waves at night. Plenty of parking for multiple cars. The elevators were a little tricky, but we only needed those checking in and out for moving heavy coolers. We all loved it so much we're coming back--our stay was an excellent value. My only request for a change would be to have an option for heating the lovely pools for off-season enjoyment.

We just came back from our Oak Island Beach trip and can't say enough about the house, the beach and the attentiveness of the crew at Better Beach Rentals. The check in and check out went smoothly. The house was very clean and ready for us to move in and make ourselves comfortable. We called the office immediately with a maintenance issue and a member of their maintenance crew came to us within the hour with the solution and a back up plan. Plans are in the works for a longer trip at the same location next year!

I was looking for a small oceanfront place for a quiet getaway for a few days. My daughter was able to join for 2 days. The location is perfect; just steps from the beach. The room was exactly what I needed. It is very small so I wouldn't recommend for a group larger than 2-3 people but was just right for my stay. The room was clean and cute and had everything I needed. The only recommendation would be a larger trashcan for the kitchen otherwise I wouldn't change a thing. The location was perfect for excellent restaurants and nearby Beaufort where we charted 2 ferry rides to Sand Dollar Island and Shackelford Island (which I highly recommend).

We stayed at The Perfect Getaway and had a wonderful time with the family! We loved staying within walking distance to the beach and having the pool. The sunsets and the family atmosphere on Oak Island is incredible! I would suggest placing a refrigerator in the garage to keep up with keeping the drinks cold and having the ice handy. The large kitchen was awesome and the ocean views were absolutely beautiful!

Calypso Too was awesome. This is our 4th summer visiting Oak Island from WI and this was our best rental. This house has everything you will need for a great vacation. The lift was awesome considering how hot it was when we arrived - it was so much easier to load our luggage, supplies & groceries versus having to walk up with every load. The house has everything; nice appliances with fully stocked kitchen, TVs in all bedrooms, family room and lower level screened in porch. We loved the outdoor shower in the lower level screened in porch. A great place to eat and watch TV in the evening. It wasn't noted but there were (2) small charcoal grills. We had called to verify and was told they didn't have a grill, so we did bring our own. The fenced in yard was ideal for our 2 dogs. This is not a negative at all, but just wanted to let any future renters who visit with a dog or children know - there were a couple harmless garden snakes in the backyard that our dog found. We just want to make you aware of them. We loved it so much we've already put our reservation in for next summer. We're sure you would love this place as much as we did.

We hosted a life changing photography event at Paradise by the Sea in Oak Island, NC. They were super helpful and we are looking to book again next year for a family reunion. We did have a problem with the stove letting loose free gas and catching on fire. Thankfully Better Beach Rentals had someone there to fix it within the hour. I could not have asked for a better location and a better management company. Loved my stay and loved my experience. I will never forget this house.

The 2 positives about our rental (Flip Flops 4 Ever) through this company were the property location and the size. Sadly, those were not enough for us to recommend this property to anyone, or to ever return to it again. The (lack of) cleanliness of this rental was appalling. When we pulled in under the home, there was trash, old boxes, and a rusting wheelbarrow full of water. We entered the home to a damp musty smell, and immediately noticed black mold growing in multiple places on the walls, and on the curtains in the main living area. The grates covering the AC vents and the air intake were rusted, stained, and moldy. The doors to the laundry closet had no handles (just holes, where the knobs had ripped off), making it terribly difficult to open. You had to squat down and pull on the very bottom of the bifold doors. When we went to put the sheets on all of the beds (renters should note: linens are provided but NOT put on the beds for you. You have to make all of the beds upon arrival), there was a medium sized, brown crusted mass that appeared to be dried throw up or diarrhea on the underside of one of the comforters. It came right off in the wash, which led us to believe the comforters had not been laundered between guests. There was also mold and mildew in several of the kitchen cabinets, and the shower curtain liners were covered in mildew in all 3 bathrooms. I reached out to the property manager upon our arrival to mention the mold, and the other issues, and sent them pictures. They did respond in a few hours, offering to come clean the air intake vent and bring a dehumidifier. They felt the mold and mildew issues would take longer to address. At that point we didn't want repairmen in and out of the home, since we were only there for 3 days, and asked that she just bring clean shower curtain liners, and the rest we could work around. We also asked that they consider discounting our rate, due to the state of the home. We never heard from them again after that (and they did not bring new shower curtains). It would not take a lot of time, effort, or money to spruce up this home to acceptable standards, and we were extremely disappointed and alarmed to find such a filthy living situation, especially since we had several kids with us for the weekend. In summary: we would not recommend this property to anyone. And we will steer clear of Better Beach Rentals in the future. *Edited in response to reply below: We checked in on Friday, Sept 10 at 4pm, and my first email to the agency was sent on Friday, Sept. 10 at 4:15pm.

This is our second year renting from Better Beach Rentals at the same house…Sensational. We have rented beach homes from other agencies for 30+ years. BBR is exceptional in their service and prompt, friendly responsiveness. We highly recommend their services!

We have been coming to Oak Island for 25 years. The last 10 years we have used better beach rentals. We have had nothing but amazing experiences. Anytime we have need anything, as in sheets, help with appliances, or any other need, we have had timely phone calls and help returned. The staff is always very kind and helpful! Any questions we have ever had in our rental process has been answered with professionalism and accuracy. You will enjoy Oak Island and Better Beach Rentals as much as we do!

Great property with amazing beach front view and private beach access. We loved the large outdoor shower. Kitchen was well equipped for all of your needs. My only compliant would be the temperature inside the house during the day was at little too hot, but ac would catch up by nightfall. Definitely looking forward to staying here next year!!!

Chasing the Sun is amazing property. Reverse floor plan allows for stunning views and lots of exercise! Well stocked kitchen and nicely furnished. The provided indoor Elevator is key in house like that. Staff and service by BBR was top notch. Been renting with different agencies for over 25 years and this was our best experience yet. By far! Same time same place next year!

Our 2021 summer vacation was terrific! The house was just perfect for our family of 13 (with room to spare). The fully equipped kitchen made our nightly Olympic cooking competition easy and carefree. Every night was cuisine from a different country and our dining experience could not have been more fun or delicious! Bathrooms are nicely appointed and the pool overlooking the ocean was the icing on the cake!

Great and prompt customer service. Beautiful, quality, clean homes. Easy booking. Fair pricing. We stayed at Paradis Marin and it was clean and nice for our large group of 10 adults and 6 children! Beach and pool toys left at the home were a hit as well!

We're down here for Christmas vacation and we're enjoying our rental. The home is exactly what we expected. The description and pictures were dead on. We haven't needed to contact Better Beach with any issues yet but I do feel confident that they would deal with anything that would come up. As they were very responsive during the rental process. We will be booking with them for next Christmas.

Better Beach Rentals has always gone above and beyond for my family when we have sought a location for our annual family vacation. If we have had any issues, they’ve been prompt in making a correction, and they’ve always maintained a level of professionalism and care that is second to none. All locations I’ve stayed at have been very clean, modern, and welcoming. They will always have my business!

Our stay has been so much fun. The house was decently clean. The pool is so convenient and relaxing. The only problem we've had is that the stove went out while we've been staying. They did bring a toaster oven and table top stove eye which has sufficed though. Overall, our experience has been good.

The Knotty Pelican was perfect for a family vacation! Plenty of space for everyone. Perfect location. Quiet and little traffic. We love cooking together and the kitchen was the best equipped of any rental we have had before. Highly recommend!

This was our first year staying at Arcadia. We are having a great time. For the last 5 years we’ve been coming to Oak Island, couldn’t ask for a greater place to vacation. The home is wonderful, clean and extremely accommodating for our family of 13. Definitely would recommend Better Beach Rentals. They were very attentive and answered any questions or concerns immediately.

Clean, nice house. Responsive rental team by email. Issues we anticipated due to reviews were non issues. I would definitely rent from them again.

Great location. The house is laid out nicely for a group and it was nice to have 5 bedrooms with on suites. Living room seating could be improved. Not a single skillet in the kitchen and it could really use a second refrigerator for a house this size. It’s quite a hike over the dune to the beach- difficult for seniors, but despite these drawbacks; I’d rent here again.

I hate to give anyone a bad review because I own an Airbnb myself but After paying $7600 to stay at this property I was very disappointed! The pictures on the web site are a little deceiving because it’s not as nice as it looks! The cleanliness of the house was awful we had to clean and wash linens before we felt comfortable sleeping in the beds, the kitchen and bathrooms were not clean, it appeared that the floors had not been swept and mopped, there were ants and roaches.. there were white sofas and they were filthy. We had to put sheets on them before sitting on them. The pool area has cigarette butts everywhere even in the cup holders of the chairs. There were 3 broken chairs. The kitchen sink has a leak with a bowl under it to catch the water. They did send the housekeeper back but she just made excuses as to why it wasn’t clean. They sent Stanley steamer out on Tuesday after we were there 4 days and we had to wait on the sofas to dry. They brought some new chairs for the pool area and fixed the sink the day before we left. I would not recommend this property until things are corrected and properly cared for.

We have enjoyed our stay at Suite Dreams. This is such a beautiful home with the most amazing ocean view from the top level with panoramic windows across the sides pand back of the home. The home has such a clean palette with plenty of room. Any concern was addressed quickly. We will be back to this awesome home!

We worked with Better Beach Rentals for our stay on Oak Island in June 2022. They were so easy to work with and the house presented exactly as it was described on their website. Check-in and check-out were super smooth! We look forward to returning next year!

Pelicans Post is a great home for an Oak Island vacation. Great pool and hot tub. The wide open kitchen and family room space makes it easy for the guest to spend time together. Very short walk to the beach. Great amenities. A+++++ location and vacation home!! Will be back next year!! Thank you.

We rented a $20k a week beach house. The list of things wrong with the West Point house is extensive. Hot tub broken, no grill that was pictured in the listing, broken towel racks in multiple bathrooms, hornet nets around the pool, raccoons, ants and bugs everywhere, the house was filthy when we arrived with granola bars and old water bottles in multiple rooms and beds… For $20,000, we expected a whole lot more. Very disappointed. And when we called the office, we got no apologies. We were told a work order would be submitted and that was it. Very poor customer services. Not sure we would rent from Better Beach again.

We loved the house ! For a family of 5 it was perfect . The ocean view was amazing ! The private board walk made it easy getting the kids back and forth to and from the beach . The hot tub was the icing on the cake . Our only complaint ( which was easily fixed) was upon arrival the house smelled old and musty . We hung fabric softener sheets up in the vents and within ten minutes the house smelled great lol. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this house .

We used Better Beach Rentals to rent "UnCorked" for our August 2021 beach trip. We were very disappointed with this house versus the money we paid. Yes, it’s only about 150’ from the beach. However, the owner or whoever it was that listed this place on Better Beach Rentals’ website needs to take a really close look at this house. A paint job and new appliances are not a renovation. For the master bath, the removable part of a command strip was still stuck to the wall (There are command strips/hooks all over the place. Not a very classy look for a house of this price). I’m not sure who was hired to paint the house or what if any prep work was performed, but there is paint peeling everywhere. We received an email from company the week prior to our arrival stating the AC filter may or may not be replaced. Trust me it was not. The master bedroom side of the house was approximately 15 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. The maintenance person at Beach Better Rentals sent out said it was working and the vent was open but he had no explanation as to why it wasn’t cooling. There are fans in both bedrooms on that side of the house. Someone knew the AC wasn’t working properly. The outside shower area is nasty with no drainage for the dirty water. Not a huge issue just another point of contention. The water faucet under the carport area did not work at all so I couldn’t rinse anything off. The shower on the opposite side of the house looks like something out of the Amityville Horror. The front steps closest to the front door are very weak and flimsy. Please note they need a middle support. We did not go to Better Beach Rentals in person expecting a refund and we still do not. Our issue is the complete misrepresentation of this house by the owners or whomever does the listing. This house should be called Bamboozled and not UnCorked. After a week had almost passed and with my husband's questioning, Better Beach Rentals offered a 5% discount off the next rental. We are not interested in bad mouthing anyone but I do wish to leave an honest review as we were highly disappointed with this house and would not want anyone to get "bamboozled" into staying here.

We have been using Better Beach Rentals for the past 3 years. Kind staff who help you when needed, easy to use website, many dog friendly properties for multiple dogs, good availability. Have had no issues and will continue to use them in the future!

We could not be more disappointed. We alerted this company a month ago that the home we rented is not as advertised. They promised to make sure everything would be ready for us in time for vacation. Now, just 3 days away from our trip, the vacation home is not ready. No hot tub, no double oven and overall not a good match for our large family. If it matched the photos and description given, it would have been perfect. We are bringing our terminally ill mother with us and she has limited mobility. When we asked to cancel and for a refund, they denied us saying the contract is for the structure only and NOT the amenities. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. Vacations homes are selected for the amenities. I would give them less than one star if I could

We absolutely love staying at this beautiful, dog friendly property each summer we come to Oak Island. We love how spacious and open the inside of the house is as well as the large porch and wonderful view of the ocean. I highly recommend staying at Shells Yeah!

We couldn't have been happier with our stay at "The Good Life" at Caswell Beach. The house was in good order, the grounds were well taken care of and the kitchen was well stocked. Better Beach Rentals, was very efficient, easy to deal with and gave good updates as our vacation approached. To say that I wouldn't hesitate to use Better Beach rentals as a rental company would be an understatement because I just booked another vacation with them and so far I am having the same positive experience!

We are at our last night in 1129 Beach st. The place is quaint but needs a lot of work. The floor is messed up and buckled up, which we have tripped over multiple times. The plumbing, sewer system has leaked down the side of our Volvo. The windows where so dirty that we couldn't see out of them, until I washed them. The counters and table where so sticky we didn't even try to use them. Cheap paper blinds, that you have to fold up and put chip clip on to be able to see out of. The list goes on... and on... and on. We will NOT ever stay with them again.

We loved our week at this townhome. Rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. There were a few minor things that needed fixing, but BBR responded immediately. The pool was a big hit with our family! The elevator was used quite a bit and conveniently stopped at all floors. Loved, loved, loved the location. The kids water park and playground are so close…within walking distance. Suggest they install a hose at the main entrance of the home in the future for guests and pets to wash off sand before entering the townhome.

Excellent Beach house at Oak Island. Well equipped, with excellent bedroom views. Nice pool with spacious deck. Perfect fit for a large family. We very much enjoyed our stay.

They are crooks. They will take your money and not communicate, they will just cut you off. I couldn't believe their business atmosphere, we rented through Air BnB and they are under the guise as the owner/host. Horrible host and horrible for Air bnb. They run a company like they are the mafia. I do not recommend renting through this company. They will look for a reason to over charge you for anything. Also, the quality of cleanliness is deplorable. I spent a good 2 hours cleaning because of a horrible job that was done. If you rent through them, be prepared for extra charges. They're crooks.

First let me review B.B.R. They are very good at trying to resolve any issues that you may have with your rental. Remember that they're just rental agents and some issues are that of the owners. That being said they did fix most of our issues within 2 days. What did not get fixed lay in the owners and sadly that keeps me from pressing the 5 Starbutton.

Suite Southern Charm was the perfect house for our annual girl's beach trip. Beautifully decorated. Better Beach Rental was quick to respond when we didn't have enough forks.

I stayed in Aquamarine from May 14th to May 18th. The customer service was exemplary. The home was clean and well kept. In fact it was beautiful.There was several instances when we needed assistance and their response was immediate. We did have problems with the air conditioning units however, they sent service repairmen.

Having a wonderful time at Arcadia with my family! House is beautiful with lots of room for our large family. Well equipped kitchen with beautiful view of the ocean. Staff at Better Beach Rentals have been very friendly and helpful.

Booked a last minute condo at Oak Island and it could not have been a better experience. Everything was just as described, or even better. They actually supplied some paper products we were instructed to bring which was shows attention to detail and customer service not often found these days. I am already planning my next trip and will be looking for one of their properties.

This is our third year at Oh My Stars and renting with Better Beach Rentals. The interactions have all been positive with folks in the office and also with maintenance staff who came out to check on the ac. I was surprised how quickly they responded. They even walked down to the beach to report that all was well. The owners do a great job keeping up the property. The two new outdoor showers are fancy! We missed our walkout, benches and stairs over the dune to the beach this year, but understand the hurricane was the culprit. Thanks for another great week.

We were allowed in as promised at 4pm and the house was the cleanest we have ever seen it. Found a few ants in one room and the exterminator came within 2 hours. Looking froward to staying here again next year from 6-10 to 6-17-23

Better Beach Rentals is a great experience. We have rented with them many times in many different properties and everyone has been fantastic. It is nice to know you have a company that really cares about what they do. We'll be back again later this year!

We absolutely loved our beach house rental in Oak Island. Only two things that stop me from giving a 5 star. We arrived at 3:59 exactly and had to call at 4:30 because we still had not received a code to get in the house although it was ready for guests. Didn’t expect I had to all to get a code when house was clearly ready. The second snag was we found an ant infestation upon arrival but Better Beach Rentals sent a exterminator out within two hours and the situation was handled. The rest of the vacation went amazing. We will be back.

We stayed Memorial week at Because Beachy Woman. We absolutely loved the house. It was comfortable and had all amenities we needed. Super close location to the beach and excellent views from the covered porch.

The house is great!! A few upgrades from last year with the house painted inside and out. Some cosmetics updates would be nice along with new mattresses. Great time with family!

Better beach rentals lacks Integrity. Context: Oak island has a massive NC Sand project (beach nourishment) with massive construction work going on. Better Beach Rentals did not provide a reference for this in the ad posting. Before our arrival, when we called them regarding the sand project, they responded that there will be minor inconvenience like no direct beach access. When we checked in, thats when we realized the extent, proximity and 24*7 nature of construction work. There were 6 Caterpillar excavators right in front of the house working 24*7. Not only is the constant construction noise annoying, it caused vibration of objects like night lamp. This meant we neither had a relaxing vacation but ended up without having sleep. This project is expected to continue into month of May - so cautioning futureout of town visitors. On contacting them, Better Beach Rentals stonewalled the issue asking us to check house rules clause 26 CONSTRUCTION: Better Beach Rentals....and said that they can't help Avoid Better Beach Rentals like you avoid bed bugs! *************************************************************** [Edited to add response] : We stayed at Sea yawl and checked out on 4/20/2021 --> My wife made the reservation on airbnb where there was no mention of the Dunes project when we reserved. The reservation was non refundable, non cancellable. -> There is NC Dune project tracker website which gives the status/location of the construction. Better beach rental knows this information but did not provide this information to out of town visitors like us. --> After making the reservation, more details were sent from Better beach rentals (website not available to users prior to reservation on airbnb). We called Better Beach Rentals immediately asking our options since the reservation was non refundable. They stated that we would not have to reschedule and would encounter just minor inconvenience. -> Even today, the ad posting lists direct beach access from the property which is not the case during the construction.

Very nice 3 Bedroom Home with fully equip kitchen and a great backyard outdoor space to grill and sit by the fire pit at night. Covered front porch with chairs also. Close to the Inter-coastal waterway for fishing on 52nd street and 46th St. Beach access with a playground/splash pad for young children and small cabana for bathroom access while on the Beach. Several other Beach access areas available on the beach strand. Close to the Publix grocery store and we also recommend a visit to the OKI Donut & Scoop shop 😊! Close to Caswell Beach lighthouse. This is a nice relaxing stay with the family. We can’t wait to come again!!!! Thank you Better Beach Vacations!!

The house we used had plenty of space for our family. Everything was easily accessible. There was only one good rocking chair on the porch, so it would be nice to add a few more.

This the second year we have stayed at Suite Summer Charm. The house is beautiful with fantastic ocean views. Plenty of room for families to have privacy.

2022 update: used better beach rentals again this year. Our previous review still stands. It's a good company to work with. I also appreciate the ease of their website and it's variety of online options. We have stayed at the same house several times and our experience with BBR has been positive. If there are any issues, they have responded to our calls promptly. The representatives have also been friendly and helpful and correspondence has been clear. No issues with our check in and reservations. Would use them again in future

Never received text from rental company about being able to get into unit, but went at 4:00 sharp and no issues. House bedrooms badly need a furniture upgrade. One queen bed made so much noise if you barely moved in it, that we got no sleep at all. Bathroom had no electrical outlet, and shower curtains were torn and dirty. Pros were the location was perfect and the AC worked great.

We have been coming for 7 years and always had a good experience. BBR is quick to respond to any issues and the office staff is friendly and helpful. We love the gift bags.

We have rented from better beach rentals every summer for 5 years and have never had an issue. The houses are spotless when we arrive and if anything is needed they are responsive and get back to us right away. They helped us find our first pet friendly home this year which was 1 coastal escape and we just love it! We will be back next year.

Super easy to book our vacation home with. Great selection of properties....something for everyone! Management is quick to respond with any questions or issues. Highly recommended!!

Great house and wonderful beach. House large enough for the whole family with room, with noticeable redecorations since last year. Had a few minor issues but they were quickly resolved by the company each time. Beds are not the best but you’ll be so tired from the beach maybe you won’t notice. Wish the pool light worked but aside from the house very pleased with the rental company overall and response time.

This is our 6th year using Better Beach Rental. Always friendly and professional. We’ve rented Sea Shack Memories for the last 3 years. Love the house! The owners have supplied everything especially for the kitchen! Grandkids enjoy the beach and the pool. Our family looks forward to coming here each year! Better Beach Rental staff always great to work with. This year we had a problem with no hot water. Called Better Beach and someone was at the house within the hour to fix the problem!

We had a great time staying at our BBR home for a week with our whole family. The house was new and well maintained and right on the beach. The pool was a huge plus as well. We definitely recommend BBR to anyone looking to stay at Oak Island! The house lacked a good grill option, but otherwise no complaints!

This was our first year renting through better beach rentals and we had a great experience! We will definitely use them again.
