Atlantic Motorcar was excellent! When I brought my car to the dealer they were not willing to give me a quote prior to work being done so I had to look around for a company that would be able to fix a Mercedes specific engine issue that my usual repair guy was not able to do. I live a little over an hour from Atlantic Motorcar but it was well worth the drive. They gave me a very thorough quote and then were able to fix that specific issue very quickly while also allowing me to use a loaner car to still get to and from work. I would highly recommend this company and will work with them in the future as needed when the repairs are more than my local repair shop can handle. Great service, communication and care!

I am so very impressed with Bruce, the owner of the company. I live in Canada and there was no way for me to take my car to him for a Volvo rear differential rebuild. I asked Bruce if he could help me out and he give me a parts list which was exactly what I asked for and needed. It speaks volumes about him that he took time out of his day and helped me even though I could not be his customer. I would take my car there if only I was closer and recommend anyone to take their car there . Best customer service experience I have ever had with any shop or store ever. I sincerely thank you.

Bruce and his staff were awesome. Though they had a very full schedule they managed to get my car in and back to me 4 days before anyone else could even look at my car. They we're very professional and upfront and answer any and all questions. Maintained communication throughout the whole process and what they quoted me was what I paid . No surprises which was refreshing. I recommend them for any vehicle needs that you may have.

Atlantic Motorcar is all that they advertise First time customer I had clicked on their “Ask a Tech” tab on their web page on Monday morning looking for info on a clutch problem on a 2015 Mini. Not 5 minutes later Bruce is calling me back. A great conversation and Q&A both ways was had. So off goes “Betty” on. Flat bed to Atlantic Motorcar. We were visiting Maine and our check engine light came on and there was a grinding noise on a weekend. I went to Atlantic Motorcar on Monday first thing and they loaned me a car and then fit us into their busy schedule to diagnose on Monday and fix for us by Tuesday. They communicated clearly the whole time and were just super nice and understanding. Loved Javier especially!

Atlantic Motorcar cares about its customers! I brought my Sprinter to them after having low power issues. I worked with Ted. He was very caring, attentive to my needs and my wallet. Sprinter techs are a rare breed in Maine and finding an appointment quickly was a challange, but Atlantic Motorcar was able to take a look at my Sprinter as soon as it was delivered to their shop. Unfortunately the cost of repairs was to expensive for me to repair (thanks inflation). I was having trouble finding a tow truck to bring it 1.5hrs north at a reasonable cost. Ted worked with me, gave me couple of extra days and helped me find another solution. Even though I did not go through with the repairs Ted and his team treated me no different than his other customers. A true example of Mainers helping Mainers. I am very pleased with my experience at Atlantic Motorcar, and would recommend thier service team to anyone having trouble finding a Sprinter technician.

I've gone here before and been satisfied. However, I wanted to make an appointment for some work that I had planned to do myself, but put off too long into winter. Atlantic wouldn't do it with the manufacturer parts that I already purchased to do the job. All OEM, labeled Toyota. I don't mind getting gouged for parts markups so much as I worry about after-market products, but I was obviously hurried off the phone as soon as I asked the question. I have taken my car to a Land Cruiser specialist in the past and supplied my own parts, but those professionals are in Atlanta. I’m disappointed, but the work here has been good in the world past.

So impressed with Atlantic Motorcar. I work in Cape Elizabeth, and they drove a rental car to my office picked up my car, did the maintenance, and drove my car back to me in the same day. Excellent service when the time I called schedule an appointment, being very flexible to help work with my schedule. To the follow up confirming my appointment. Then I received an email, with pictures, on what had been done to my car, and what they had found. It was amazing! They were true to their quote, but I also received a text that if any major work was needed, they would do a six-month payment plan. Again can’t say enough good things about this company, I would definitely recommend them!

I purchased a pre-owned Mini Cooper Clubman “S” All4 at a Toyota dealership in MA and drove it back home to Portland ME. A Mini owner friend of mine recommended Atlantic Motor Car for any service requirements and because I needed a ME inspection booked an appointment. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a text message from Bruce (the owner) reconfirming my appt and welcoming me to his business. A great start which only got better once I arrived. I decided to have a comprehensive inspection done beyond just the minimum requirements for a state sticker and was very pleased with the care and thoroughness given by the Mini technician who assessed what seemed like every inch of the car while waiting in a very comfortable and meticulously clean waiting area. I received a comprehensive report covering all systems and suggested general maintenance. This gave me tremendous piece of mind and a baseline for future maintenance requirements. While there I asked for an oil change and decided to have the coolant and brake fluids replaced as well. I received a follow up text from Bruce (again) a day or two later just asking how the car was and making sure all was well. Bruce and his team exceeded my expectations. I can’t say enough positive things about Atlantic Motorcar Center. I needed to have some maintenance done to my Mercedes Benz. Javier set me up with an appointment and explained that they would also be conducting a detailed inspection of the vehicle with pictures. I have honestly never had that service before. I left Atlantic Motorcar knowing more about my vehicle than I did leaving a well known dealership that I purchased the car from. I left feeling empowered about the health of my Mercedes-Benz. On another note…I like the interior of my vehicles immaculate, you would have never known that Atlantic Motorcar had even set foot in my vehicle. I recently purchased a Mercedes Benz SL for my grandmother and was excited to help her get the car gone through before putting up the roadster for the winter. Being from the Mid Coast, a quick google search showed this as the closest Mercedes parts supplier. I called up to schedule an appointment, and order a few accesories for the car and spoke with the manager Javier. The man was quite hostile, and refused to sell anything related to the car before he had seen it and charged me accordingly. I was quite put off by his attitude and surprised that he wouldn't allow me to order original floor mats and a cover for the car. He flat out refused and said he wouldn't allow me to order anything related to the car until he had charged me. When I asked to speak to a manager he said he was the manager and when I persisted, said he would have the parts manager call me, and good luck finding anyone else who would help with the car, as they were booking weeks out. I contacted Mercedes Benz in Scarborough directly and was able to order all the accessories, and schedule the appointment that I needed to have the car properly gone through. We may have to wait a few weeks, but at least I will be able to trust sending my grandmother to the service department at Mercedes Benz in Scarborough. Predatory sales practices, and flat out refusal to order parts are big red flags is my book. Buyer beware. Still waiting on that phone call.

Lots of folks mistake us for a new car dealer, and think we sell parts over the counter. We actually don't, and that is what Javier was trying to convey to you, we're not a parts supplier. I know that wasn't what you wanted to hear, as we're certainly more convenient (and less costly) than the dealer. Realize that this is your first Mercedes and you're excited about it, which is awesome, but if you had allowed our Service Advisor to explain this to you, we would have been glad to direct you to the right source. The friendly and professional people of Atlantic Motorcar performed scheduled service/maintenance on my Mercedes-Benz E400 coupe’s transmission and brake system in about half the time and for about 25% less than the nearest MB dealership quoted me (and they warranty their work for longer, too!) They also inspected the car and took a couple of pictures of some other items that needed attention (this is a nice touch, very helpful for decision making). I will definitely go back soon to have these things addressed and I have complete confidence that they will do a wonderful job. They are even willing to work with the extended warranty company I use to fix one of the issues. I’m so far very impressed with my first AMC experience and look forward to next time. A+ 6/24 update- My second trip to Atlantic MotorCar was the same as the first in regards to amazing service! I needed a seal replaced on the front differential and I had the coolant changed as recommended from my last visit. The price was very fair and they provided a free loaner car. I can’t recommend this shop enough. I have never received this level of quality in terms of workmanship as well as customer service from any MB dealership (they even follow up with you to ask and make sure you’re happy and they actually care about your answer!!). If you need service, make an appointment at AMC. You won’t regret it.

Great shop! I brought in my 2008 Range Rover HSE for an overall inspection and service and I couldn’t be happier. Ted is extremely knowledgeable about Land Rovers and their special needs, and the work performed (transmission service, brake job, fluid changes, axle repair and detailing) was first rate. Atlantic Motorcar Center is an impressive place - super clean facility, knowledgeable people, and great customer service. Plus a loaner car! Highly recommended!

I am so incredibly impressed with Atlantic Motor Car! They do what they say they will do, and they stick to their estimates. They show you -- in their lovely waiting room which is SPOTLESSLY clean -- on the computer a photograph of the problems with your vehicle, as they explain what that means, if you need to fix it now or if it can wait and give you the price to repair it. The costs are less than half of what I paid at the dealer and I get the same guarantees / warranty. They gave me a loaner car (lovely car, a VW Jetta) at no charge for the entire time of my repairs. The Service Advisor (Javier) is FANTASTIC, superb customer service, they bent over backwards to accommodate me and my schedule. I will never go back to the dealer again, I am an AMC customer for LIFE. And no, I received nothing for posting this, I would strongly encourage you to go here -- they are that good. 5 plus 🌟

Can't recommend the team at Atlantic Motorcar enough, after a wonderful first experience. Our vehicle required some minor body work involving hood latch replacement and it was difficult at first to navigate who in the area was able to do the work. I decided to connect with Atlantic Motorcar after some excellent feedback from a friend in Southern Maine who goes there exclusively for maintenance. The welcoming experience with the courtesy pre-appointment call and the greeting at the center stood out to my wife and I. Certified car manufacturer mechanics performing end to end inspections for baseline maintenance info was top notch! Absolutely never felt pressured to move forward with any repairs unless they were truly a safety/compliance risk, and I respect that. Best of all, a clear and concise list of repair items remaining with my vehicle is great to keep track of an prioritize in the coming months! We plan to return to Atlantic Motorcar for all our vehicle's advanced maintenance needs, and when the time comes to look for decent used vehicles - it looks like a fine first stop to shop when that time comes! AMC is simply the best ! I came to them for a noise In my front end that no one else could seem to repair , they did a full diagnostic and sent me pictures even , then my advisor Doug gave me a call to explain everything to me in great detail . Longtime BMW owner who recently moved to the Midcoast. I was dreading having to drive an hour to the only BMW dealership in the state, but I’ve always been very wary of anyone but the dealer working on them. It’s not like the old days where every car engine was functionally identical and anyone with some mechanical ability could do the work. Now, you can’t even check the oil level without a computer! Since the work I needed was relatively “basic” I figured I’d give Atlantic Motorcar a chance. I’m glad I did. I received a text update with pictures indicating what needed to be done (a first for me) and the communication all around was great. Bruce and his team did a great, professional, job diagnosing and fixing my 2011 Sprinter. The prior owner of the van had messed up the replacement of a glow plug and the AMC team was able to masterfully extract and replace it without needing an expensive head removal. They also went through all the systems replaced all the fluids that were in need of replacement. I'm very happy with the thoroughness of the work they did. No need to go anywhere else.

I brought my beloved 2007 E320 bluetec in for minor repairs that had been recommended by a Mercedes dealership. Not only was the dealer's price high, but they did not return calls when I tried to schedule the recommended work. Then I remembered I had a postcard from Atlantic Motorcar. I was easily able to make an online appointment. It was confirmed by text and email. The entire car was re-evaluated, and less work than had been recommended by the dealer was determined to be urgent (allowing me to spread the costs over time), and the quote was for an amount considerably less than the dealer's had been. The work was done on time and I have no complaints about the quality. The car was ready for pick up and had been washed! I was treated well by Javier (my service manager) and by Bruce (the owner). And by the way before I brought the car in I received friendly reminders, while it was in I got complete and clear recommendations and communications, and there was nice follow up afterward. I was very pleased. I will bring my car back again!

My 1995 BMW 325I convertible was having issues with hard starts / chugging sporadically, a condition that we all know would be tough to diagnose. Atlantic Motorcars is advertised as Maine`s Premiers foreign car specialist with expert service. I knew that came with a price, regardless, I set up an appointment figuring they must have seen this condition in the past and could pinpoint the issue fast. Within hours of dropping the car off, I received an email with a PowerPoint presentation of all of the other issues the car had, right down to the brake pads, now this was nice I guess if I was planning on fully restoring the car, but I saw it as low hanging fruit they were hoping to cash in on. Two days passed without hearing from them, I called and they showed me a picture of a disconnected vacuum hose and said that may be the issue. I was skeptical because the hose circled in the picture they sent seems to be by design an 1 1/2" low point drain or breather. Other BMWs I researched had the same short open ended hose in the same place. They said to me after that, every cold start it fired right up without issue, I was skeptical, at this point the bill was $335, they said if they were to dig deeper, the price would also increase because it could be a number of issues. I declined and took my chances the issue might be solved. A couple days later, low and behold, the same hard starts and chugging occurred, $335 later. I have local mechanics that charge $50 an hour and could have diagnosed it the same way, but I didn't, I went to the so called "experts". Not happy, and next time I will try my local garage or a place in Freeport that has a better stethoscope.
Hi Mark, Thanks for sharing your feedback with the team. Unfortunately, as our Service Advisors shared, with words and photos in the report, there were a number of things that needed attention with your BMW. Which on a nearly 30 year old car that hasn't seen regular service (hence the problems found in your report) is not unexpected. Yes, we do share the complete condition of the car with the client (like the worn out brake pads you mentioned) as we feel it's important for folks to know the true condition of their car, especially on safety issues like brakes. We did diagnose your problem and shared there were multiple service items on the engine alone that needed attention. You chose not to do the ones that would have corrected the running problem you were concerned with. I get it, these items weren't cheap and simple things, but replacement of the defective items would have resolved your issues. That's what our BMW tech noted, our Service Advisor explained, and were unfortunately declined. Please feel free to have the other facility call us, I would be happy to review the scope of our diagnostic work with them, and it might save you from having to pay again for work that was already done by us. We wish you well, and when you decide to address those service issues we found, know that we will be here and happy to handle those for you. Where have you been all of my life? Seriously! I've been to Atlantic Motorcar twice so far for my VW Tiguan and have been so incredibly impressed with the respectful and friendly communication, the convenience of a loaner car, and the quality of their work. The second time I came in, I was able to spend the morning working in their business center and felt so well-cared-for. Who knew that you could actually look forward to taking your car to the mechanic (Not really, but if you have to... this is the best place for it!).

I discovered one morning that my battery was dead. They nicely worked me into their schedule and besides installing a new battery checked all the cables, alternators etc. I was very pleased I had my car back the same morning.

We are located almost an hour away but will definitely be return customers. The customer service is outstanding and the inspection was thorough (I love the detailed reports including pictures). Javier proved to be honest and attentive making me feel like a valued customer when I first walked in the door. There were maybe four other employees that walked through the (very comfortable, clean) waiting are while I was there that stopped to check on me to ensure my comfort. Extremely pleased with my experience with Atlantic Motorcar. I spent about an hour on site. Javier is professional and kind. I observed him treat every client who walked through the door during my wait time with respect and courtesy. I purchased a used car from Atlantic (which I LOVE and am 100% happy with) and then brought my 15 YO Audi in for detailing - it sits outside under pine trees most of the time and it was a MESS! When i picked it up, it practically looked brand new, inside and out. I am VERY pleased with the work. Also, Atlantic gave me a loaner while the work was being done, so no need to get a ride from someone or sit around and wait. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Friendly service and great work. I have been going to Atlantic Motorcar for about 2 years now, after switching from a major dealership that didn't really seem to care about me. Atlantic Motorcar has been such a refreshing change, they listen to what I am saying and explain things in a way that makes sense. Often they will take me into the work area and show me the condition of my car and what needs to be repaired. Their waiting area is comfortable, and they have a great fleet of loaner cars. The best part is during my last service, the service manager delivered my car directly to my house when my 65k mile service was done. Talk about service! I feel fortunate to have such a great team of people working on my car.
