It was our first time at American Pride Automotive New Town. We just moved to VA and needed our state inspection done. I did some research and saw they had many great reviews. The office staff are fantastic!! They were very friendly and knowledgeable!! I was told it would be at least an hour, but the technician was finished in about 40 minutes, which was great. I also like that they email you the inspection report, very convenient. We will definitely be back for future inspections and any repairs we may need.

I went to American Pride for a state inspection a week after an oil change with a competitor in town because that competitor wouldn't make an appointment for the state inspection and inexplicably needed my car for 1.5 days due to a backlog in simple 10 minute inspections. Imagine my surprise when American Pride recommended nearly a thousand dollars of work - but it wasn't fake work, it was legit problems that any competent mechanic couldn't have possibly missed when they had the vehicle up on a lift. And these were critical safety issues! Suffice to say the competitor is never getting my business again and American Pride has firmly won a customer. Thank you for helping keep my vehicle safe!

American Pride Automotive in New Town has to be one of the best repair shops I've been to. The staff was friendly, professional and very accommodating in my time of need. My 2015 Altima had just completely died in the middle of the road coming off the highway without any warning lights to give me give me a chance to pull over. After waiting an hour on this very hot day for AAA, I was towed to American Pride Automotive. By this time it was the end of the day, and I was told the technicians had already left for the day and I would have to wait until the next day for service. Jesse, they guy at the front desk, stated he was no longer a technician but would take a quick look to see what I needed. He came back with great news that it was just a dead battery and could have it replaced in no time. During my wait I was offered water and friendly conversation, I didn't feel rushed away so they could go home. Jesse helped get me back on the road and I'm so grateful for his compassion and great customer service even at the end of the day. I wish I lived closer so I could make them my regular repair shop but I'm sure I'll find my way back.

Really outstanding service. I brought my 2007 Subaru Impreza here for service. They did a full health inspection which found some serious problems. They delivered the bad news with care. American Pride was always on my side helping me make informed decisions. Communication is top notch. Service is excellent and friendly. Had tires replaced, an apprentice made an error resulting in a flat. They changed it free of charge as soon as I called. Completely transparent about the mistake and it was rectified professionally and immediately. I highly recommend American Pride Automotive.

The staff members at American Pride are exceptionally professional and friendly. The service is good and instead of calling you for an estimate, they send you link with a detailed and thorough list of necessary repairs/service (including pictures). However, this service comes at a premium. Their prices are extremely high. I was quoted nearly $900 for spark plug and ignition coil replacement. I decided this was too high and I could just fix it myself, but I still had to pay $218 for diagnostic/labor for something I already knew. For this reason, I am leaving a 2 star review because such gross overcharging is borderline disingenuous. For standard maintenance, American Pride may be a good choice, but for anyone needing serious repairs, I would get a few estimates.

I love using American Pride! The staff are so professional, nice, and personal. Feels like family. They are reasonably priced and so good work! One thing I love about them is their transparency and explanations of issues with your car. I moved him from northern va a few years ago where I was used to mechanics overcharging and exaggerating issues to get more out of your pocket. I’ve never had that with American pride. I completely trust their judgement. They were even nice to me when I completely missed my appointment. They politely rescheduled with no penalties. Thanks!

I had a great experience at my first visit to American Pride Automotive in Newtown I was a new customer because I had relocated from another city The owner Andrew, service manager Brock and the nice folks on the office Theresa and Jesse made me feel very welcome and valued customer Jesse found my car records online faster than a doctors office haha ! He did a full thorough vehicle inspection at my request and documented the findings and sat down and explained them to me , i appreciated his insight and time Very good customer care !

Referred to APA by neighbor for VA inspection. They did diagnostics and failed vehicle (which was OK, I knew it needed some repairs), I asked for an estimate too do the necessary work, was told I'd receive it through email but it never came, I requested again a few days later and was told it would be emailed that day but, again, it never came. I figured they were either too busy or too disorganized so took business elsewhere. Doubt if I'll go back - there are too many other competent mechanics that actually want my business.

They will try to sell you things you do not need. For instance, Brake fluid flush, Coolant flush, Transmission flush And whatever they can try to upsell. I did a break flush on a neighbor's car and he took it in to American pride a week later and they said he needed a break flush. I've been working on cars for 27 years and inspecting them through the state of Virginia for 1 7 years. Get what you ask for and then get a second opinion before taking their word.

This shop has my highest recommendation! The level of service is above and beyond any expectations that I had. Their entire staff are incredibly helpful! My wife and I were on a road trip, towing a travel trailer, when my truck began overheating. We made it to our Campground and I was unable to work on the truck. I called every service shop in the area, and the team at American Pride were the only shop who would help an out of towner in need on a holiday weekend. The entire experience was as good as a person could ever hope to have when your vehicle needs a new water pump unexpectedly! I cannot say enough how fantastic this shop is!

I recently bought a used car, a 17 year old vehicle with more than 90,000 miles on it. American Pride went over the car from fender to fender to see what was needed to keep this car running for another 90,000 miles. They showed me everything they recommended from immediate repairs to preventative maintenance. Once we agreed on the list, they got to work and quickly completed everything. The car is running better than ever! I trust American Pride with all my vehicles!

I made an appointment to wait while my oil was changed and my car was inspected. Because they're limiting the number of people in their facility during COVID, they only take one "I'll wait" appointment per hour, and they had me in and out on time. They're friendly, professional, and reliable. I recommend them highly.

RECOMEND THESE PEOPLE 100% After getting a $1500 bill from the dealership over a failed inspection I brought my car here and I'm SO glad I did! Turns out I didn't need all the work the dealership said I did and my actual bill at American Pride was over $1000 less then the dealership estimate! And they were so nice, Even called me an Uber to take me home and back. Amazing service.

During this visit to American Pride, I had my car inspected, the oil changed and a light replaced. The customer service was outstanding! I was given a full listing of items requiring repair to pass inspection, as well as items that needed attention soon. The cost of each item was plainly listed, and Michelle explained everything thoroughly, including a bundling discount if I choose to return for the not so pressing repairs. I was on my way in less than an hour and will definitely return!

I recently moved to Williamsburg and needed to get a VA State inspection for my vehicle. Based on online reviews, I made an appointment online and received a call next day to confirm. On the morning of my appointment, I was was greeted by a friendly and helpful front desk. As I waited for my inspection to be completed, I enjoyed their coffee and conversation. My experience was excellent and I highly recommend American Pride. Professional, clean and friendly.

One of the best auto repair shops I’ve ever been to. Expert service, honest with the repairs and price and took care of the little things without asking. You could tell they take pride in what they do and the services they provide. Wish they were closer to my home but Glad I found them. Would recommend to anyone in the area or anyone passing through. We had the starter replaced and our transmission flushed and repaired on our Yukon.

I went in for a State Inspection and Oil Change. They were timely and efficient with the service. And, the office staff and technician were able to answer all of my questions and address any concerns I had for other symptoms my car was showing. They even provided a complete sheet of estimates for all the things I will need/want to have done in the near future. They even told me what DIDN'T need to be repaired. A sure sign to me that they're not just in it for the money.

I had a very small window of time to have my yearly inspection, and they were extremely accommodating. Though 2 mechanics were out sick, they still managed to get my car in at the scheduled appointment time and finished earlier than they had told me. A link is sent to your phone to review the work that has been done, and I found that very helpful as well, since I now have documentation of exactly what my car needs. I would highly recommend this establishment.

Once again, AMERICAN Pride- Ironbound location, brought our car back to a healthy status! After a long trip to Alabama and back, we thought our poor car might be at it’s demise! Very pleased with APA New Town. Had an issue with knuckles on our Jeep. They fixed it but it needed another part that they inadvertently missed on diagnosis. They kindly offered to order the backordered part at their cost and replaced it at no charge! Communication is always excellent even in the difficult spare parts world of late with them. Highly recommended!!

I have been looking all around Williamsburg for a shop to get a VA state inspection at, all of them saying leave it for a few days or drop it off at night and come get it sometime the next day. I submitted a request for an appointment online and they called me back to confirm a time that worked. It took around 30 minutes ish and they had me in and out like that for the $20 regular fee. The ladies working the front desk were extremely nice. I highly recommend!

To start, this is the most professional automotive experience I've had in a long time! I had been running around for two days looking to get a state inspection. After having no luck with two other places, I called and spoke with Michelle and she was able to get me in right away! As soon as I arrived, they were able to take my car in. That NEVER happens! John performed my state inspection in what felt like 20 minutes! I have never been in and out so quickly in my life! I appreciate the professionalism as well as the courtesy from the staff and will continue to come here in the future!

I don’t know where to begin about the service that I received. These guys are awesome. I have been taking my car to Chevy dealership and I will never again take it to the dealership. The amount of time that have been skewed over at the dealership is awful. These guys told me what’s wrong with my car up front and what we can do for you. Brock and Michelle are awesome and completely understanding with everyday life. I have been to this place twice so far and I will continue coming back to this place.

If you are looking for a place that you can Trust. This is it. Friendly and courteous staff and they will actually look at your car, take pictures of any issue and go over what needs to be done to keep you ou and your family safe.

First time around on getting Virginia State inspections done on my vehicles. I know shops have a very detailed list to follow and the integrity of their work is on the line when they place a “valid” sticker on your windshield. As a marine mechanic and inspector by trade, I am always a bit cautious when someone is inspecting or working on my vehicle (I do a lot of my own work). This shop is very professional and the explanation of what might be wrong or needs attention is spot on. The staff there is very friendly. My hat goes off to Michelle at the front desk for handling rapid fire appointments and showing remarkable composure when dealing with customers who are often stressed out (that is a self reflected comment as well). I give American Pride Automotive two thumbs up.
