American Bank & Trust Neal St, Cookeville

Does not know how to do a notary. If you have any documentation that they don't "feel comfortable " with they will throw such a fit. They literally don't know what they're doing here.yes it's a free notary but no they don't know what they're doing. Also, I came on a Saturday where hours are clearly posted 8am-12pm and the bank was closed st 9:30am when I came by. So the hours aren't correctly posted. Apparently, they're closed on Saturdays.

Customer service was disappointing. If you’re looking for a bank loan this is not the spot. Vice President SHERRY from the loan department could not be any more rude and is not willing to work for you. From the moment I started talking to her she was very unprofessional, she would try to rush the conversation, also dishonest about making phone calls and getting back to you on email. I simply started to tell her my side of the story where she’s not getting back to me and not being very professional in her tones in a polite manner, and she hung up the phone on me. I was waiting for an answer on a different situation for a loan. She never got back to me and then claims that she made a phone call and I didn’t answer. I’ve been in sales for a long time and I’ve never treated somebody as rudely as she has treated me. I think she’s at the end of her career and she just doesn’t care.

They process our mortgage, no issues and fast. Friendly staff.

I am always greeted with a smile and a "hello". The two main people that are always so friendly are Cynthia and Jennifer. They are wonderful people and the bank is blessed to have them working for them.

This is the best bank in my life I've ever had to deal with. My son overdrew his account & instead of having to go in & take care of it Chelsea helped me out on the phone. She was so pleasant & understanding. I hope this is a learning lesson for my son who doesn't think you need to have a ledger since he does online banking. Thank you again Chelsea.

I have banked here (as well as my entire family) since I opened my account years ago, and have never had a bad experience until today. I went inside to make a deposit (Mrs.Ogletree was the lady who helped me and she was very kind). As I was standing at the counter a grown lady who works there approached a bank teller working the counter near me. She started to whisper to her about a hole I evidently had in the back of my leggings. I’m assuming that she was not aware that I could hear her. I am disappointed that she seemed to care more about my appearance than the money I was trying to deposit into my account. I think this was extremely unprofessional on her part and things like that should be kept to yourself. I will no longer be banking at the Neal Street location and was extremely unhappy with my visit today.

I absolutely love this bank. The branch on Neal St in Cookeville is amazing. They are extremely friendly and helpful me with all my needs. As a business owner, I wanted that personal relationship with who is going to be handling my money and they went beyond my expectations.
