Cannot make a loan payment. Afcu is denied the transaction and says it is on my banks side. Waited over an hour for them to tell me that.. called my bank and they are approving the loan payment and they are showing 4 pending transactions and have taking almost 2k out of my account. Tried calling afcu back and now I’m on a 2 hour wait. I have spent my entire morning trying to make a loan payment and the same thing happened to me last week. I made the decision to just have my bank send a check and it takes me to a location to enter my account number with afcu and they are showing that my account is not an active account with them. They are an absolute joke and I have never had a worse experience with any financial institution.

Do not bother with a loan from this CU. Account Lockouts are apparently common. They must not have an IT department because they have no way of resolving any issue. All negative reviews on her have been my experience as well, believe them.

The absolute worst customer service no matter when you call expect at least a 45 min wait time on the phone the absolute worst bank ever. Once you get on the phone expect to be treated horribly like you shouldn’t be calling. Horrible despicable people that work there disgusting environment absolutely horrible.

Absolutely nightmarish experience being a customer of America First. It was so bad I accepted a higher rate and refinanced my car loan elsewhere, but even getting a payoff quote from America First took over a month and several cals, emails, chats etc. They are unprofessional, always put you on hold, I highly recommend picking a different credit union or bank.

I’ve been with them for over 20 years. I started with them in Utah and continued when I moved to Arizona. They have had the best IRA rates over the years. I’ve always had great customer service in person, on line and over the phone.

Wow no help at all. Got covid was out of work and they offer no help. They said the covid program ended. How can any one control having covid?

AFCU is simply a money grubbing financial institution. In December 2020, what was then the height of the pandemic, the CU attempted to charge me $26 to replace a debit card with attempted fraud. This would have also entailed a 5 to 7 business day timeframe to arrive. I spent over an hour on the phone with a minimum of 3 managers (the first 2 made their contempt for members obvious) before securing an overnighted card free of cost. Frustration aside, this turns claims of free fraud protection into false advertising and a deceptive practice, behaviors that would greatly interest the CFPB, among others. America First is willing to eat their own and jeopardize what little positive reputation they have so long as they're able to successfully extract a fee from members. Moreover, their fees are horrendous and the turnaround times excessively long. Getting a satisfactory resolution from any phone department requires jumping down representatives collective throats. Combined with the incessant touting of their size as 7th largest national CU, it all amounts to a refusal to accommodate members. I pity the holdover employees from Altier CU, an institution that cared about it's members, or at least knew better than to treat them like cash cows. Leadership of this CU should do themselves a favor and learn the meaning of the word shame.

If you do most of your banking online, and you know how to properly utilize credit these guys are great and can expand you to a strong spending limit. Not so great for business but a good personal bank to establish a relationship with.

I’ve been with AF since I lived in Salt Lake, and for MANY years. I moved to AZ and decided to keep them because I have not had a single bad experience. In fact, any issue or questions I’ve had, they’ve been beyond helpful. My only complaint is they have few locations in AZ. I hope that changes one day... not worth giving a lower rating over because most everything I can accomplish online, but I do hope they grow and expand here so I don’t have to travel 25 min when I do deed to come in personally. When I do come in in person, the staff is amazing, helpful and knowledgeable.

Bro what is this online banking sign-up process my guy? God almighty, just took me an hour to go through the 37-step process to pay my first car payment. Felt like I was sent back to 1975 trying to pay my bills with your dozen different papers and pin numbers haphazardly strewn about my dining room table. Each page of the website I felt like I was solving intricate problems in some sort of escape room scenario - except instead of the sweet reward of escaping and winning it's a long arduous path to giving you my hard-earned money. I'm literally trying to give you all my cash, so that you can survive and thrive to harm another day, and you're making it as hard as possible. I cannot imagine the amount of incompetence within your operations and website development departments. This is banking online dude, it's been figured out. You don't need to reinvent the wheel. Fortunately I was sent back to the future to write this review that I doubt anyone will read, but I needed some sort of catharsis after that ordeal. If I could do no stars, I would.

We are from Northern AZ. We needed to get a temporary check and they were able to help us with one. Location is easy to find and wasn't busy (2:30pm).
